Extended Summary

Bobby is sweeping up at the Diner when Danny arrives and they hug. He tells her that what Morag said about his father freaked him out and wonders if it’s made Bobby change her mind. Bobby is more angry with Morag than him but Danny admits some of what she said was true, he did come back to get revenge on Morag. He says she must have spray painted the wall herself but that he did play some nasty tricks on her. Since he’s met Bobby, he wants a fresh start and asks her to come away with him so they can go travelling together. He says he’s got things to sort out so she’s got time to make up her mind.

Sally arrives home with a satchel full of books for the readathon. Carly tells her she could just tell people she read them but Sally thinks that’s cheating. Rory enters and tells them about the trick Steven pulled, telling him Emma liked him. He admits he doesn’t really like Emma but doesn’t like being taken for a ride. He leaves for training at the surf club. Sally says she thinks Rory’s handsome and Carly agrees he’s cute.

Martin arrives home to find Lance has got him some boxes to clear his things out. Martin accepts he was a snake in the grass with Celia and says he’ll help Lance get his job back. They head to the store where they try to convince Celia to keep them both on, even offering to only take one wage and split it between them. Celia won’t budge, pointing out it’s illegal and she thinks Lance and Martin are better off apart anyway. She gives Lance the contract to sell his share of the business but Martin persuades him to take it away and look at it rather than signing it there.

At the Stewart house, Bobby talks to Ailsa about Danny. Ailsa asks her if she loves him and Bobby admits she isn’t sure and that she was sure about Frank but ended up being hurt. Ailsa says if she thinks Danny might be the one she should go for it. At Morag’s mansion, Danny knocks on the door of the cupboard. Morag asks for a drink of water but Danny doesn’t trust her not to try and escape. Morag protests that his father was sick and needed locking up and would probably have killed himself anyway but Danny says his father told him it was all Morag’s fault. Morag says she won’t make trouble for him and Bobby if he lets her go. Danny says Bobby is making her mind up and if she doesn’t do it soon Morag will die of thirst.

Rory arrives home with a limp, saying he’s not used to running on the sand. Sally says Steven has some cream to rub on his legs to make them less sore but Rory points out he’s not exactly friends with Steven at the moment. Sally has been reading and her eyes are tired; she asks Rory to read to her. Rory is shocked to find her reading a scary horror story, since he thought girls liked fairy tales. Sally recalls they are about princesses marrying handsome princes and tells him Carly said he was cute. Rory says Carly is too. At the school, Don is ushering out the last few students when Bobby arrives and tells him Danny’s back. Don is pleased for her until she mentions Danny wants them both to leave town and he says Danny shouldn’t be running away. Bobby thinks everything was Morag’s fault but Don says Danny was hardly innocent; however, he also says he’ll accept whatever she decides and always be her father.

Celia is serving Adam and Matt at the store and wonders why Matt isn’t getting his hot food from the hot dog stall. Matt says it’s closed. Celia hurries down there and finds Lance and Martin have drawn a large crowd and Martin is making a speech about Lance being sacked unfairly. Celia threatens Martin with the sack as well but Martin just uses her comments to work up the crowd and says if Lance doesn’t work there neither does he.

At the Diner, Carly tries to point out to a couple staring into each other’s eyes that she’s brought their milkshakes. Danny arrives looking for Bobby and sits down to wait. Rory also arrives and spends a lot of time dropping hints to Carly about how he wants to go to a movie or a burger bar or the skate rink. Carly eventually tells him if he wants to ask her out he should just do so and says she’ll meet him at seven when she’s finished work. Bobby turns up and tells Danny she’s going to go with him. She needs to head home and pack. Danny avoids going with her, saying he doesn’t want a showdown with Don, and goes back to Morag’s instead, ignoring Sally when she comes to the door.

Lance and Martin are assessing their situation at the mobile home, worried Celia might sack them both despite the ill feeling it would cause. Lance wonders if he should have just taken the money. Celia arrives and tells them that, since splitting them up isn’t an option, she’s going to give them one more chance: They have a month to increase profits, after which she’ll cut her losses and sell up. They agree but, once she’s gone, admit they’ve no idea how to do so. On the beach, Adam and Matt are playing volleyball while Rory trains nearby. He tells them he’s got a date with Carly and, although he seems disappointed, Adam tells him he hopes it goes well. Matt asks Adam how he feels but Adam says he and Carly aren’t an item anymore and she’s a free agent.

At the Diner, Ailsa and Don discuss Bobby and Danny, with neither entirely convinced Bobby’s made the right choice. Sally comes up asking them to sponsor her but they’re too busy. Bobby arrives, wondering where Danny is, and accuses Don of scaring him off but Don says he hasn’t seen him. Sally says she saw him at Morag’s but he ignored her when she banged on the door. Worried, Don and Bobby leave. At the mansion, Danny opens up the cupboard door. Morag tries to push past him but he pushes her back in, causing her to bang her head. He worries she might be dead, since he doesn’t want that to happen yet, but manages to shake her back into semi-consciousness. He ties her hands up and tells her that next time it’ll be more than just a bump on the head.
