Celia opposes Andrew’s plan to establish another drop-in-centre and Morag comes face to face with her worst fear.

Extended Summary

Morag runs from her ransacked house and jumps in her car but it won’t start. She calls the police from her car phone.

Celia is asking Pippa how Tom is as she pays for her groceries. Andrew comes into the store and asks Pippa how Tom is but Celia answers for her! She questions Andrew about Stacey’s departure and tells him he should have had more sense than to foist a young hooligan into the midst of their home; there are proper places. Andrew says that’s why he’s decided to revive the drop-in centre. He has put an application in to the council. Andrew and Pippa leave and Celia immediately phones Councillor Wilson.

The police can’t find any sign of forced entry at Morag’s and refuse to believe her story about Danny after the vanishing hanging body incident. Morag suggests they go to see his accomplice. At the Fisher house, Donald tells the police that Bobby was at work all day. Morag says she should have drowned Bobby at birth! The police realise Donald and Morag are Bobby’s parents and leave as they don’t handle domestics.

Pippa is putting the shopping away at home as Andrew complains about Celia’s attitude to the drop-in centre. Pippa says he’d be better off sending kids to the city where they can get work. Andrew says they don’t have any get-up-and-go but he can help them. Pippa tells him his problem is that he always gets emotionally involved. He’s a social worker, not a foster carer like she is.

Morag asks Donald and Bobby why she would bother setting up a hoax when she’s leaving town. She leaves and Donald agrees that setting it up herself is too bizarre, even for Morag. He says if Danny did do it then he’s still here in Summer Bay. Bobby says she wishes him all the luck in the world.

Martin brings Celia’s share of the day’s hot dog stand takings to the store in the evening. He talks up his management experience at Macklins’ to try and persuade Celia to keep him on but she is surprised he would go behind Lance’s back and reminds him his employment at Macklins’ didn’t last very long. She says she’s quite capable of making up her own mind so Martin tries a bit of flattery instead.

Lance is complaining to Bobby at the Diner that Martin is going to get the job. He leaves as Andrew comes in and discusses the drop-in centre with Bobby. He can’t get a straight answer from the council. He asks after Danny and Bobby tells him about Morag putting the cops onto her today.

Donald visits Morag and asks her why she has caused so much pain and anguish. Did she want everyone to hate her? Morag says she refuses to be driven out of her home by Danny, Bobby or anyone. Donald tells her this isn’t Bobby’s style but Morag says anything’s possible when a girl falls for a psychopath. Donald says if Morag is right about Danny she could be physically hurt but Morag coldly says she has no intention of getting hurt.

Lance and Martin are serving two girls in bikinis in a convertible Volkswagen when Celia comes along and has a go at Martin for slacking off. She tells them to come and pick up more stock in an hour and she’ll reveal who has got the job.

Andrew tries to convince Pippa to come to the drop-in centre meeting with him but Pippa worries he’s only doing it to take his mind off his personal problems, and he needs to learn to leave his work behind at the end of the day as well. Andrew thinks she’s just prejudiced like everyone else and storms out.

Banjo barks at someone in the bushes outside Morag’s. Morag brings his food out but he has a bone and she asks where he got that from.

Celia reveals she’s decided Martin is the best one to run Café de Waves. Martin goes back to painting the hot dog stand, and Lance calls him a snake, reminding him he was the one who bought the joint. And since the mobile home may not be good enough for an up and coming businessman, he tells Martin to find somewhere else to live.

Andrew comes into the Diner and tells Bobby that Pippa didn’t support him. Bobby suggests he go back to teaching – she could help persuade Donald – but Andrew wants to reach the drop-outs. Lance arrives and complains about Martin and Celia.

Morag answers the phone and hears maniacal laughing. Outside, Danny puts the car phone down, turns the laughing soundtrack off, and feeds Banjo.

At the hot dog stand, Andrew tells Martin he hopes he and Celia will be very happy together because Martin won’t have anyone else to share tinnies with now. Martin looks thoughtful.

Morag finds Banjo eating treats in the house. She gets a suitcase out of the cupboard under the stairs and goes back in for something else. Danny appears and locks Morag in the cupboard, asking her if she was going somewhere
