Felicity is shocked by Tane’s proposal. Marilyn blames Leah for losing her daughter.
Extended Summary
Tane leads Felicity up to the lighthouse, where she admires first the view and then the picnic set up nearby. Tane pours them both a drink and says the view isn’t the only reason he likes that spot: It’s where she first told him she loved him. Felicity says she doesn’t say that to just anyone. Meanwhile, Cash pulls up near the beach and asks Rose if she’s seen Nikau. Rose tries to tell him about the forensics but Cash says he can’t stop and will talk about Heather when he’s at work. Nikau appears and chides Cash for forgetting to pick up the chilly bin, with them deciding to get it on the way.
Kirby knocks on Eden’s door but just gets told to go away. Theo says he keeps getting texts from Nikau asking where they are. Remi returns and Kirby says they were meant to be there five minutes ago. She says she and Theo are going to go, asking Remi to bring Eden. Remi convinces Eden to open the door. Eden says Felicity won’t want her there and can hold a grudge. Remi says she might surprise her but Eden goes back into her room anyway. Shortly after, Remi calls out it’s the last chance. Eden appears, having got changed, and says they promised to perform so they will but it’s Remi’s fault if Felicity has a go at her and ruins everything.
At the Diner, Marilyn is shocked as Leah tells her Heather’s gone. Alf says she didn’t even thank Roo for arranging the van. Leah says she thinks Heather vandalised her house but Alf is sceptical. Rose enters and Marilyn immediately asks her for news. Rose says there were no fingerprints at Leah’s house and there’s no sign of Heather. She asks if Roo’s heard from her (Alf says she hasn’t and is worried), then notes Leah was the last person to see her. Leah says they had a run-in but Heather didn’t say anything about leaving. Marilyn takes Leah aside and asks what she said. Leah admits she told Heather she knew who she was.
The two of them walk by the beach with Marilyn saying Leah had no right. Leah says she didn’t like the way Heather treated Marilyn. Marilyn insists Heather didn’t do anything wrong and doubts Leah’s claim that she broke into her house, saying not long ago everyone believed Marilyn herself was to blame for everything. Leah argues that both she and John had their things vandalised after run-ins with Heather. Marilyn says it was her one chance to fix things and accuses Leah of taking away her chance of getting to know her daughter.
Tane and Felicity are cuddling up to each other by the rocks on the lighthouse. Nikau and Cash appear, with Cash carrying a hamper and Nikau filming them on his phone. Lyrik then appear, with Remi and Eden playing the guitar as Theo and Kirby sing their song. Once they’ve finished, Tane gets down on one knee and produces a ring, asking Felicity to marry him. Felicity looks pleased for a moment, then nervously looks over at the waiting crowd and says sorry before hurrying away a few paces.
Tane goes after her and admits surprise proposals are a bad idea, saying she doesn’t have to make a decision now and to think about it. Looking back at the others again, Felicity says she doesn’t need to: She says yes now. Nikau starts filming again as they kiss and Tane puts the ring on her finger. Cash and Nikau congratulate them, followed by Theo and Kirby, with Eden hanging back. Tane suggests Nikau call Heather to join them.
Marilyn walks through a park area, leaving a phone message for Heather saying to ignore Leah and call her back. She runs into Rose and asks if she can report Heather as a missing person. Rose says Heather just checked out of the caravan park. Marilyn accepts people do that all the time and Rose queries why Marilyn’s worried about her after their run-ins.
Near the beach, Alf asks Leah if she’s made up with Marilyn. Leah says Marilyn didn’t like her having a go at Heather. Alf comments on Marilyn’s turnaround and Leah suggests she just likes helping people in trouble. Alf suggests there might be less drama now. Rose approaches Leah and walks with her, asking about Marilyn’s investment in Heather. Leah repeats that Marilyn likes to help people before hurrying away.
Cash and Kirby are dancing while Tane and Felicity are sitting by the picnic. Felicity looks over at Eden, who is standing on her own. Remi tries to get Eden to talk to Felicity but she refuses. Cash approaches Eden, despite her warning Felicity is right there. Cash asks if Eden has feelings for him. Eden says she doesn’t do feelings and asks where this is coming from. Cash nods over at Remi. Eden says she has a murder to commit and pulls Remi aside to have a go. Remi asks if he was wrong. Eden just walks away. Felicity tells Cash off for not warning her and says she had to say yes with everyone staring at her.
At the Diner, Nikau asks Marilyn if she’s seen Heather, since she wasn’t in her van and isn’t answering her calls. Marilyn says Heather’s left town and that Nikau should tell the police if he hears anything, explaining Leah had a go and scared her off and also admitting she’s handled it badly. After Nikau has gone, Marilyn gets a text from Heather.
By the beach, Nikau talks to Tane on the phone, saying he’ll see him at home. Rose asks Nikau about the party and he explains Tane and Felicity got engaged. He mentions Heather leaving without saying anything, noting they weren’t serious but it still hurts. Rose says Marilyn was upset and Nikau says Marilyn’s lovely to everyone. He reflects it seems like he hardly knew Heather.
Marilyn storms round to see Leah and says Heather texted her and says she never wants to see her again. Leah apologises but insists Heather needed to be put in her place. Marilyn says she never told anyone about how ashamed she was; Leah was the first one and she betrayed her. She says she just wanted to fix things and let her daughter know she loved her and Leah’s taken that away from them.
Theo and Kirby congratulate Felicity and Tane again. Remi tells Eden he had to say something but Eden says he embarrassed her. Remi tries to joke that it was more embarrassing when she threw herself into the crowd and no-one caught her. Eden says having feelings for someone is a big thing for her and she’s not sure she can trust Remi now.
Cash tells Felicity that she needs to tell Tane how she feels. Felicity replies that she’s not going to spoil how happy he is and risk losing him. Tane comes over and jokingly asks if Cash is giving his fiance a hard time. Cash says he won’t as long as Felicity’s happy. Felicity looks teary when no-one’s looking. Eden and Remi are carrying a cool box down the slope. Cash offers to help and Eden dumps it and walks off, but cries out in pain a moment later. Cash and Remi find her clutching her ankle. She tells them to leave her alone and that she’d rather die than accept help from the two of them.
