SCHOOL
The kids await Hyde’s decision about the concert, getting more pessimistic by the minute. Sally arrives, also seeking Hyde, and agrees to let Hyde know that they’re waiting for him when she finds him. She doesn’t think they’ll have any problems getting the concert idea through Hyde.

Exiting the classroom, she runs into Hyde, and informs him that Robbie and co are anxiously awaiting his decision. He concedes that he’s happy with the most part of it – but there’s just one change that has to be made…

GYM
“You’re kidding?!”. Kim is less than happy to discover that his father has put his foot down over non-students performing at the concert. Robbie and Tasha tried to talk him around, but he’s not budging, and Kim automatically assumes the worst – Barry is just trying to force him to re-enroll at school. He turns on Robbie and Tasha, accusing them of caving in too easily, but Robbie protests that it wasn’t like they had much choice – and they doubt that Kim wants to destroy his newfound relationship with his Dad either. Robbie adds fuel to the fire by admitting that he can see Barry’s point – it IS a school concert, and he may simply be following rules for insurance… or something. Perhaps it isn’t personal. Kim isn’t having any of it.

CARAVAN PARK
Beth is delighted as Matilda and Henry arrive home with the news that Barry has agreed to their concert proposals… however, Henry is infuriated that Hyde isn’t letting non-students perform – it means that Scott won’t be able to dance, and he’ll have to look silly all by himself. Or not – he decides that he isn’t doing it after all, and Matilda and Beth attempt to talk him around. After all, a male dancer really isn’t that big a deal. Beth can also understand where Barry’s coming from – it’s a school concert – and dismisses the suggestion that everything Barry does has an ulterior motive.

GYM
Kim is laying into a punchbag at the gym when Hyde arrives to talk. He demands that his father admit that his concert decision was purely to make a point, but Barry cooly tells his son that the welfare of his students is his priority. Kim doesn’t understand – it’s a song; it’s not like he’s planning to throw his guitar at anyone’s head. Besides, Noah wasn’t just a part of the school – he was part of the community, and they should all be able to get involved. Barry suggests that Kim might consider returning to school and completing the term as first intended, and Kim laughs at the idea – he could see it coming a mile off. Barry is dismissive of Kim’s accusation that it was all a ploy to get him to return, claiming that he has accepted Kim’s decision about school. However, his decision rules him out of participating in the concert – rules are rules, but how Kim decides to get around the rules is his own decision. He departs.

THE PALACE
Dani has already left for Shelley’s when Scott arrives home to find Hayley staring at an empty canvas in despair. She’s struggling with her painting, and Scott advises her to give it time. She is thankful that there has only been one sketch of Noah, and that she hasn’t been madly sleep-sketching or anything. Scott stares worridely after her as she leaves, before pulling out the other sketch.

DINER
Tasha (who has taken to wearing Robbie’s specs) reckons that Barry is definetely trying to blackmail Kim, and she and Robbie are adamant that he shouldn’t back down. Kim doesn’t see that he has much choice, though – and Jesse has consented to him leaving work until the end of term. Kim doesn’t care about scoring points against Barry – it’s about Noah this time – and he wonders whether he should go and iron his uniform. However, Barry’s entrance changes his mind again, and he’s back to square one – what to do…

THE PALACE
Hayley goes up for bed and Scott tries to look as awake as possible, claiming that he’s not tired and he’ll be staying up to finish reading a book. Once she has gone, he makes himself some coffee and prepares for a long night

However, he appears to be asleep in no time on the sofa, and fails to wake when someone enters the house and leaves another picture of Noah.

BEACH
Barry meets Kim on the beach, and Kim predicts that Barry is gearing up to say something about his swimming. Hyde denies that the thought crossed his mind, before casually wondering whether Kim was planning on gracing them with his prescence in school – he needs to know whether to get some catch-up work prepared for him. Kim points out that his father obviously isn’t paying any atention to the fact that they’re related – “same DNA, same need to win”. He’s glad that they’re no longer yelling and screaming at one another – strategic battles are better – and Hyde wonders what any family would be like without “it’s share of dysfunction”

THE PALACE
Hayley is in a better frame of mind as she gets up, having had a great nights sleep, but she is swiftly knocked back down as Scott shows her the latest drawing. Scott confesses about the other sketch – that’s three now – and Hayley is shocked that she can’t even remember doing them. She could swear that she didn’t get up for the entire night, and wonders if he heard anything. He admits to having slept downstairs, and although he isn’t convinced that it was Hayley, he can’t think of any other alternatives. They wisely have a spare key outside, but Scott can’t see why ANYONE would break in to leave the pictures. Hayley feels like she’s going crazy – it’s not such a good day after all.

BREAK

BEACH HOUSE
Kane and Kirsty are reunited after her night in the city, and she reports that the night was surprisingly stress-free – she actually enjoyed herself. For the first time she and Laura got to “Babe, if you say connect, I may have to kill you!” Kane warns. She strategically changes her sentence conclusion to “spend quality time together”, which Kane asserts isn’t much better. Tasha is more interested in hearing what Kirsty has got lined up for the concert, and Kirsty admits with a cunning smile that it was actually the best part of the night…

SURF CLUB
Robbie and Tasha announce to Kim that Kirsty has managed to get Eskimo Joe to perform at the concert for free, and Kim is unenthusiastic – until Robbie and Tasha point out that Eskimo Joe aren’t actually students at the school.

THE PALACE
Dani has returned to be informed of the latest sketch, and Hayley shows them some of her old work. She points out how her style has changed, and recalls that she did a sketch like the ones that have been showing up – she got Noah to throw them away as she wasn’t happy with them. Dani and Scott dismiss the idea that someone got hold of them – there’s not a mark on them to suggest that they’ve been lying around at the tip, and no one WOULD do it. Hayley is working herself up into a stress trying to work out a rational explanation. When she leaves, Dani suggests that Hayley could be going back to her old style for some reason – after all, there’s little other explanation. Few people know where they keep the ‘spare key’ and those that do wouldn’t be doing it. Scott stares into space thoughtfully, before rushing off to “check something out”.

CARAVAN PARK
“That’s impossible… it couldn’t be!”. Beth appears stunned at Scott’s suggestion, but Scott urges her to look at the facts. Beth can’t think of a reason behind it – not one that she wants to consider, anyway. She wonders if he wants to “make the call” or if she should do it.

SCHOOL
The Eskimo Joe news is going down extremely well at school, and Hyde walks up just in time to find Kim in school – un-uniformed. They make the announcement, Kirsty explaining that her Mum has a ‘mutual friend’, and they point out how much money the concert is likely to raise. Hyde is impressed by Kirsty’s initiative… until Kim points out that Eskimo Joe aren’t students. Hyde agrees that it’s not fair to have one rule for some and another rule for others – and promptly refuses to allow the band to perform.

He walks away amidst chaos from the students, and is given a talking to by Sally – the band performing would be for the good of the school, Kirsty has shown initiative, and he shouldn’t be trying to make a point. She warns that there may be mutiny if he says no to this one, and Hyde grudgingly returns to the students and confesses that he acted rashly – Eskimo Joe can perform, and by default so can Kim.

THE PALACE
Hayley has managed to do some sketching, and is in a good mood when Dani arrives home. Her block seems to have gone, and she has regained her inspiration. She suggests that the sleep-sketching was she subconsciously trying to work through the block, and that the end of the tunnel might just exist after all.

SCHOOL
Kirsty drops some books and Henry rushes to her assistance – after all, it’s “International Kirsty is a Legend day”. Due to Hyde changing the rules, Scott can perform – which means that HE won’t get his head kicked in for dancing. However, Robbie swiftly reminds Henry that no one has actually told Scott about it yet. Kim arrives, fully uniformed, to the amazement of all – after all, he can be in the concert even if he ‘aint a student. Needless to say, Barry is also stunned to see him back, and Kim brushes it off with a shrug, claiming that he had already organised the time off with Jesse and would have had “nothing better to do”. He asserts that he’s doing it for himself

SURF CLUB
Dani works at the kiosk whilst on the phone to Scott, begging him to call her. Hayley bounces in, still on a high – she’s positive that it was she that did the drawings.

CARAVAN PARK
Scott and Beth greet Kit awkwardly when she arrives.

Scott demands to know what is going on – “trust me” doesn’t cut it with him. Beth is more encouraging, but Kit is unable to tell them. Scott is furious about what she has been doing to Hayley – she thinks she’s going crazy – and Beth opts for a gentle questioning techinique. Kit admits to using the spare key to gain access to the house, and reluctantly says that she got the pictures from the tip – Hayley got Noah to chuck them out, but she decided to keep them – “you know why…”. She is angry when Scott accuses her of drinking again, and begs he and Beth to believe that she’s not trying to cause trouble. Scott glares as Beth pulls Kit aside for a quiet talk.
