Extended Summary

Dean and Ziggy are walking by the beach. Dean complains a bit about her giving their holiday away but Ziggy doesn’t think Dean would enjoy a wine-tasting holiday anyway and points out he got $2000. Dean wonders what’s going on with Mackenzie. Ziggy doesn’t think it’s their problem but Dean worries it could be. Meanwhile, Tane finds Mia sitting on the beach. She thanks him for meeting her there, saying she needed to give Chloe some space and that Chloe’s upset after a run-in with Bella. She says it helps knowing Tane’s there.

At the Diner, Felicity is sat eating on her own. Cash comes in and jokes he had a sister that looked like her once. Felicity asks how things are going with Jasmine and her new family, before admitting she’s having a hard time spending time with Tane because of him supporting his family and her having to be understanding. Cash suggests she go over and Felicity says Mia was frosty the last time she did that. Cash suggests she sneak in and she dashes off, passing Jasmine who has just finished a double shift. She is relieved she and Cash have two days off together. Cash has already ordered takeaway, which Irene provides. Jasmine and Cash head home where Jasmine gets a text from Rose suggesting they and Xander spend tomorrow together. Jasmine isn’t keen on giving up her alone time with Cash but he reminds her she agreed to get to know Xander and Rose.

Tane is clearing up after dinner while Mia reports that Chloe’s in bed. Tane says he’ll do the washing up so Mia heads off to bed. Felicity appears at the window and Tane invites her in. She says she’s there to look after him and provide beers, promising no-one will know she’s there. Tane doesn’t think Mia would mind and Felicity suggests they pretend she would to make it more fun. Later, they are making out on the couch when Mia appears, sleepwalking. Tane says he’ll take her back to her room, turning down Felicity’s offer of help.

Jasmine is dithering over sending a text to Rose and Xander, wondering if a late brunch is appropriate and if she should meet them at home or the Diner or cook or buy… Cash tries to calm her and, when Irene turns up, Jasmine asks her advice. Irene suggests going to the Diner but Jasmine decides to send a text inviting them there…then immediately starts second-guessing herself. Next morning, Rose and Xander are outside the Diner. Xander comments on the amount of food Rose has bought and she retorts that their father told them to never turn up empty-handed. They run into Irene, who assures them Jasmine is looking forward to it.

Jasmine has set up for an elaborate brunch, with Cash noting she’s one step away from turning the serviettes into swans. Rose and Xander turn up. Jasmine notes they’re early and Rose realises it’s half an hour before they said, offering to go away and come back. Cash invites them in. At the Parata house, Felicity is making breakfast and tells Tane she turned off his alarm so he could sleep. Tane checked on Mia during the night and says she seems even more stressed with Chloe there. Mia enters and Tane tells her about the sleepwalking. She wonders why it’s started again but refuses to see someone.

Ziggy comments to Dean on having the house to themselves and he snipes that it’s almost like being on holiday. He finds Chloe’s apology cake in the fridge with a note from Bella saying she couldn’t bring herself to eat it. Ziggy says now the drama’s over they should go surfing. Later, Tane and Mia are on the beach. She feels mortified but insists work will take her mind off things. Dean and Ziggy approach and Dean asks how things are. Mia accuses him of throwing Chloe out of the house and storms off. Dean asks Tane if she’s all right but he says he’s handling it.

Rose and Jasmine make awkward chit-chat about time off. Xander notes the pair have a lot in common: Both named after flowers and same taste in muffins. Cash says Jasmine runs a lot and Xander notes Rose is into volleyball. Cash says he met Jasmine at a touch football team and Rose says she tried that at the academy but it wasn’t for her. The conversation dries up and Jasmine retreats to make coffee. Later, Cash and Rose compare stories about their graduation: Cash’s was in pouring rain and Rose’s was in a heatwave. Xander notes their father was proud of her, making things awkward again.

Cash finds Felicity at the caravan park and says Mia told him she didn’t need him. Felicity isn’t so sure, saying she knows the signs of a breakdown and thinks it’s only a matter of time for Mia. Tane says she won’t see anyone. Felicity wants to spare him what Cash went through with her. Tane then gets a call from Ziggy. He heads to the gym where Ziggy and Dean tell him Mia threw everyone out and shut herself away in the office. Tane finds her sitting on the floor: She says she doesn’t know what’s wrong.

Rose helps Jasmine clear up and apologises for upsetting her. Jasmine says they should be able to talk about their dad. Rose says she can’t forgive him for what he did to Jasmine but the comments makes Jasmine retreat to her room. Later, the others are sat around and Rose chides Xander for mentioning their dad. Rose wonders if Jasmine’s coming back and Cash joins her in the bedroom. Jasmine is pained to realise Rose and Xander are still there and says she feels uncomfortable around them. She says they lived the life she should have had: She doesn’t want to be jealous and resentful but doesn’t know how to get past it.
