WHARF
Scott and Kane are at work when Dani races down the wharf to deliver the news to Kane

CARAVAN PARK
Dani, Scott and Kane arrive as Rhys comes off the phone – Alf is organising a search party. Kane is impatient and upset – he doesn’t know what Kirsty was thinking. Max wants to go with them, but Rhys insists that he stay home in case someone calls… despite Henry and Matilda also being home.

BEACH HOUSE
Sally has brought Tasha home, and Irene is frustrated that Angie is continuing to mess up lives from beyond the grave. Irene informs Sally that Duncan was the one to give Tasha the tape in the first place, and swears that if she gets her hands on that “little so and so…”… Sally puts the pieces together, and works out that Robbie and Duncan’s fight must have involved the tape. Irene offers to make Tasha whatever she wants for dinner, but rather than be grateful for Irene’s care, tasha demands to know why Irene and Sally are being so nice to her, as her mother was horrible to them. Irene insists that Angie’s activities have nothing to do with her, but Tasha don’t seem convinced. irene answers the phone, and her “Oh my Gawd” leads one to the interpretation that she has learnt of Kirsty going AWOL.

OUTSIDE SURF CLUB
All the stops have been pulled out for Kirsty’s disappearance, as the search teams pull out maps… Kirsty has been missing over an hour and nothing has yet been done, despite them realising she was gone five minutes after she had left. Kane is predictably and understandably agitated at the delay, despite Scott’s adamance that they must have some sort of structure to the search. They split into groups.

THE PALACE
Noah has spoken to his mother, and it hasn’t changed a thing – he doesn’t want her at the wedding, and despite her being a bit upset, he told her that he didn’t want her at the wedding. Despite Hayley’s optimism he is dead set against ever seeing her again. She apologises for sticking her oar in – she thought she was doing the right thing, and she just wanted everything to be perfect. He reckons it will be – them in the surf club with all their mates, and he will wear a suit if she wants him to. All she wants is for him to be there… although it’s equally important that they get started on the invites. She has 60 people down so far – not including the bridal party, and Noah is taken aback – he thought it was meant to be a small affair. Hayley insists that it is, before musing that they won’t have to give formal invites to everyone. Jesse arrives back from work, and Hayley checks that she can just put a tick down beside him, and he is enthusiastic – nothing would stop him being there. However, Hayley assumes he means both he and Leah, to which his face drops and he informs her that she’ll have to ask Leah separately – he won’t be talking to her.

CARAVAN PARK
The phone rings and Max darts to pick it up. It turns out to be the laundry guy. Henry wants to leave, and when Max insists they have to be there for the phone, Henry points out the obvious – there doesn’t have to be three of them to answer a phone, and Rhys will just have been trying to keep them out of the way. He brazenly states that Kirsty could be dead anyway – she was meant to be on dialysis, but she was stupid enough to do a runner from the hospital. Matilda comes to Max’s defence, reminding Henry about how he felt when Scott was missing. She then apologises for Henry to max.

BEACH HOUSE
Kane returns back with no news – the search has been called off until morning, when an SES team will go out. Tasha rather unhelpfully points out that she can’t be out all night – she has to go back on dialysis. Tasha is ignored as Irene offers to get Kane something to eat, but she is snapped at in response – Kane doesn’t feel like eating. She takes his mood on the chin, telling him that he needs to eat – he’ll be no use to Kirsty otherwise. He apologises for snapping, and Irene disappears into the kitchen. Tasha also faces Kane’s wrath when she offer to help with her knowledge about the bush. He is upset and angry at her suggestion – it’s not a game, it’s serious, and she can’t do anything to help. He storms off, leaving Tasha looking slightly taken aback.

Later, Irene comes downstairs to find Tasha outside, staring up at the sky “for shooting stars” to make her dreams come true. Irene assures her that Kane never meant to snap at her – he’s just upset, but it’s not that that’s troubling her. She’s blaming herself for everything that is going wrong, because of who her mother is. Irene sticks the “you are not Angie Russell” record on again and assures her that she’s not a bad person. Tasha insists on being left alone again.

Irene returns inside, and upon seeing a light on in Kane and Kirsty’s room, she pays Kane a visit. He is sat on the end of the bed, staring at a picture. He admits that he’s afraid, and he hates it – Kirsty and the baby are everything to him, and he can’t bear the thought of anything happening to them. he goes on to blame himself for everything, but is interrupted by Irene, who harshly tells him that none of it is down to him – she knows that both he and Kirsty wanted that kid as much as one another. He hates not being in control, and Irene encourages him to let the people around him help. In a few hours it’ll be daylight, and he’ll go out and bring Kirsty back.

THE PALACE
Scott joins Dani downstairs, where she sits tearily at the table

CARAVAN PARK
Rhys is also up in the middle of the night, looking at a picture of Kirsty, and asking where she is.

BEACH HOUSE
We rejoin Kane, who is restless and on the verge of breaking down.

BEACH
As the sun rises, Dani stands on the beach. She is joined by Hayley, who comments that she was up early, and wonders if she got any sleep. She didn’t – she and Scott were downstairs most of the night, and Scott ended up making about 10 pots of tea. She tells Hayley that Scott understands her so well, and Hayley brings in the question of marriage – they should think about a double wedding. Dani isn’t over-the-moon, her mind obviously on other matters. Conversation returns to Kirsty, and Hayley assures Dani that she’ll be fine.

BREAK

BEACH HOUSE
Kane races out of his room, set on joining the search, but has a plate of food thrown into his face by Irene, who insists that he must eat. There is, however, something else he needs to take care of first. Irene nods towards Tasha, and Kane asks Tasha to put some raisin toast in for him before apologising for his attitude the previous night. Tasha takes his apology somewhat coldly, greeting his “am I forgiven?” with a downhearted “yes”. He laughs, tells Tasha that she’s like a sister to him – and always will be – and the pair hug warmly.

SCHOOL
Max, Henry and Matilda have no news for Sally with regard to Kirsty, except that Rhys is back out looking. Tasha approaches them, asking about Robbie’s absence, to which she’s told that he’s sick. Henry and Matilda are bitter – he’s sick because “some cow chewed him up and spat him out without caring how hurt he’d be”. Matilda takes the opportunity to point out that Tasha is playing her mother’s game – chewing people up and hurting them, and Max is the one to leap to Tasha’s defence.

WHARF
Rhys arrives in search of Kirsty, but Kane is already checking the boat, and there’s no sign of Kirsty having been there. Rhys, noticing how run down Kane looks, suggests that he goes home, gets something to eat and has a shower, but Kane points out that he has, but he just hasn’t been able to properly settle since Kirsty went into hospital. Rhys recalls that he felt the same way after Shelley left, and Kane admits that he was scared, and that he has no idea why she would run away. He is quick to tell Rhys that he didn’t do anything, but Rhys insists that he never thought he did. They leave. Is it just me of did Kane’s trousers come down a bit too low at the back when he was climbing off that boat?

OUTSIDE SURF CLUB
Scott, wearing that horrific shirt for the second episode in a row, is reassuring Dani – the search is underway, and if she hasn’t been found within a few hours they’ll send out tracker dogs. Dani is afraid, but Scott tells her not to think about the possibilities. Hayley bounces up to them with a huge grin on her face – she has wedding stuff to organise, and she cheerfully reminds Dani that “the offer’s still open”. As she skips away, Scott wonders what it was all about, and Dani confesses about Hayley’s idea of a double wedding. Scott laughs at the idea, wanting to know what she said. She didn’t, but they agree that it’s “interesting”. Scott’s jeans also look low from the back today. I think it’s just me. Dani checks with Scott that they definetely will marry, sooner or later and he promises – just when they have more time. She remarks that it might be nice to have a spur of the moment thing – not that she’d necessarily do it.

THE PALACE
Scott arrives home, and after marvelling at the fashion pages he always gets when he flips open a magazine, Noah realises that something is up. Scott mentions to Noah that Hayley suggested a double wedding to Dani – and now Dani’s taking it seriously. Noah reckons it’s fantastic… until the look on Scott’s face tells him otherwise. Scott knew when he met Dani that she was the one he would marry – when the time was right – but he now fears that the time may never be right. He loves her and wants to spend his life with her, but he’s not ready for marriage – and he’s not sure he ever will be.

DINER
Alf delivers to Jesse the news that there’s still no news on Kirsty – and they’re running out of places to look. Alf asks after Leah, but Jesse hasn’t had time to check – Alf recommends that he make time. Sally joins Jesse as Alf goes back to the kitchen, and Jesse tells her that he’s been keeping his distance from Leah to avoid stressing her out with a proper break-up. He admits that he’s confused – half of him wants to make things work, but the other half doesn’t. He still loves Leah, but whereas Sally and Flynn’s relationship is worth fighting for, he doesnt think theirs is. They’ve tried, but the deepest part of their relationship has gone, and he doesn’t think they can get it back.

SURF CLUB
We are treated to a full view of Kane’s new(ish) car as he pulls up near the surf club, looking increasingly stressed out. He’s just in time to meet with Tasha, who is also looking less than pleased, and she wonders why people have to be so cruel, wishing that there was somewhere she could go to escape from everything. Something clicks with Kane – he knows where Kirsty is. He asks Tasha to get into the car, and they speed off.

RANDOM BUSH PLACE
Kane’s car comes to an abrupt halt, and he and Tasha run madly through the bush to the lake, Kane repeatedly yelling out for Kirsty. There is no sign of her, and he explains briefly to Tasha that he was convinced she’d be there – it was there special place that they came to all the time – it was where he gave her ‘a ring’. He continues to shout for her until Tasha interrupts, having found some flat grass, and a ‘trail’, through some twigs – they could only have been broken for a few hours. She beckons Kane to follow her, and after a hesitation he does so…
