Extended Summary

Justin and Theo have finished a surf and are walking near the surf club. Justin tries to assure Theo that Ava’s crush is over. They run into Ava, and Justin wonders if she’s there for a surf lesson, Ava instead offers to cook dinner that evening. Justin is amused, since he’s never seen her cook, but agrees. At the Diner, Marilyn and Kirby note that they’re on shift together again. Kirby asks Leah to keep giving her shifts, since things aren’t entirely back to normal with the band. Theo comes in and asks Kirby to come to dinner so he’s not left alone with Ava. Kirby doesn’t think her going will help, since Ava doesn’t like her. Theo accepts it and instead asks if he can use her as an excuse to leave the meal early.

Cash and Eden are in the bathroom at her place, having evidently taken a shower together. Eden makes a show of not letting Cash have a towel but then Kirby starts banging on the door. They sheepishly exit and Kirby is amused to see them together. Cash goes to the bedroom and checks his phone, finding the voicemail from Tane.

At the Diner, Leah tells Roo that she understands why Theo is uncomfortable around Ava and also why Justin is blind to the problem. Roo agrees that Ava running away from home to see Theo is extreme. Leah gets a text from Ava asking her to bring dessert. Justin comes in and mentions Ava cooking, convinced that things are normal.

Theo emerges from his room and is uncomfortable to find Ava is the only one there. Ava tells him to set the table and mentions him ignoring her good luck text. Theo says sending him things was a bit stalkery. Ava insists she was just being nice to a friend. Theo says they didn’t even know each other then and Ava retorts that he was texting her like they were friends. Justin and Leah arrive back, with Justin believing Ava and Theo are getting on.

Kirby and Eden are at Salt, with Kirby complaining about Ava. She is amused that Eden doesn’t react to her referring to Cash as her boyfriend, saying she never thought she’d see the day. Cash joins them, having failed to find Felicity at her van or get her to answer her phone. Eden explains to Kirby and tries to reassure him that they only saw her a couple of hours ago.

A driver (in a different vehicle from the previous episode) drops Felicity off near a farm. She walks up the path to the house where Gary emerges and wonders what she’s doing there. Felicity admits she doesn’t know, then hugs him. Back in Summer Bay, Cash and Eden run into Roo. Cash asks her if Felicity said anything about going away. Roo hasn’t seen her but says she’ll ask Alf in Merimbula if he knows anything about it. Eden suggests she phone Felicity this time instead of Cash.

Gary sees Felicity ignore Eden’s call. Felicity mentions Cash and Eden are together now. Gary again wonders how she came to be there. Felicity talks about how Cash and Tane wanted her to stop drinking and how she wanted to avoid Tane so she’d stop being so awful to him. Gary suggests she hasn’t run away but run home, since she’s avoided the place since she was sixteen. Felicity recalls what Eden said about facing her demons. Gary has an idea. He leads her to her parents Anthony and Jennifer’s gravestones. He offers to wait at the car but Felicity says she’ll walk home. She lays flowers on both graves.

Leah talks to Roo about how awkward the dinner was and also admits that Ava’s schoolwork has lapsed. Roo has an idea. Back at the house, Ava tries to ask Theo if he’s writing a new song and Theo gives her short shrift, which gets him a telling off from Justin for being rude. Theo leaves to see Kirby as Leah and Roo arrive. Leah explains Roo is going to tutor Ava. Justin is initially a bit put-out since it wasn’t discussed with him, but when Roo says she offered, he quickly agrees that it’s a great idea.

Talking to her father’s grave, Felicity says she understands now why he did what he did and that he was in pain but that she’s been running away from the hard stuff ever since and it’s stopping her from being happy. She promises she’ll do what it takes to be happy. Back at the farm, Gary is on the phone to Cash and advises him against coming up. Felicity returns.

At the Parata house, Cash tells Eden that he wants to go and see Felicity anyway, worrying about her going back to the farm. Eden reminds him that Gary said not to and suggests leaving it to him. Back at the farm, Gary admits to Felicity that he called Cash. Felicity says that she knew that he would but is reluctant to respond to his suggestion that she call Tane.

Theo arrives at the Diner and asks Kirby if he can move in with her until Ava’s gone. Kirby says she’ll have to talk to Remi and Eden but it should be fine. Back at the Morgan house, Justin and Leah head out, leaving Roo to work with Ava. Roo tries to ask Ava what subjects she’s doing and what assignments she has due but Ava gives dismissive answers to the questions. Roo says she’ll just call her year advisor then. Ava insists she doesn’t need Roo. Roo suggests she could call Justin back and tell him that, which causes Ava’s mood to change.

Back at the Diner, Marilyn stops Leah giving a customer the wrong order. Theo arrives and tells Leah about his plan to move out to Kirby’s but Leah insists that’s not happening. Meanwhile, Gary suggests he and Felicity think about dinner, admitting he usually goes to the pub. Felicity suggests he goes on his own and she stays there. Gary suggests she talk to the person missing from the conversation.
