Scott and Hayley’s relationship is in jeopardy as the pregnancy threatens to come between them. Kim teeters on the brink of a life changing decision. Robbie fears Tasha’s making a huge mistake over the resort.
Extended Summary
Alf’s moaning to all and sundry about Jesse’s recent behaviour. He tells Hayley it’s time to think about getting rid of him. Hayley’s shocked – Jesse practically created the place – but promises to consider it.
Scott confides to Beth that he can’t stand the way Hayley’s acting but he’s sorry he doesn’t want to break up. Hayley gives him the cold shoulder. Kim says Scott’s right; she has to thrash out details about how the baby will be raised. Hayley approaches Scott and tells him they’ve decided on some practical ground rules. Scott’s impressed. The two of them seem back on track, but he’s hesitant about physical intimacy. Kim reckons it’s because they haven’t had any alone time since the baby came. Hayley gets a great idea but won’t tell Kim what it is.
Dan’s worried that Leah’s thinking too much about Jesse. He tries to warn her but she says it’s her nature. Hayley thinks Leah should tell the police the truth about Jesse, but Leah says she can’t dob in a friend. Hayley worries it will ruin Leah’s relationship. Leah’s wondering the same thing and Dan’s getting increasingly frustrated that her minds on Jesse so much.
Martha’s still not over her breakup with Jesse, but Tasha ropes her into the fight against the resort development. They decide to organize a protest and make banners and fliers. Robbie worries that Tasha’s doing this for all the wrong reasons and might be alienating her last remaining family member in Josie. Tasha tells him Summer Bay is her family – she’ll never forget that.
Hyde stands up Irene on a dinner date because he’s working with Beth at the school. Irene goes off at him, implying that there’s something between them. Hyde refuses to back down. There’s animosity between the two. Irene apologises. She didn’t trust herself – not them. Beth can’t believe what Irene suspected. Relations between the two break down, much to Irene’s distress.
Kim’s worried about cash flow now the baby’s coming. He’s looking for a job and he seems to have found something in the paper that he’s acting very secretively about. Finally he makes a phone call. It’s to Josie. He wants to apply for a sales job at the resort! He’s heading in to a huge drama.
