Extended Summary
Cash finds Alf fishing on the beach and asks about Marilyn. Alf thanks him for everything he did and tells him about Marilyn leaving town and that no-one knows where she is. At the Diner, Irene is filling in John and they note Marilyn isn’t answering anyone’s calls. Alf and Cash turn up. Cash notes he has to find Marilyn to get her statement. Alf and John both tell him to tell her to come back but Cash says he can’t force her to. John asks what’ll happen to Heather. Cash says once she’s well enough, she’ll be remanded and then it’s up to the prosecution. Irene hopes they throw away the key.
Felicity tries to dodge Tane’s questions but Tane insists on discussing the date. Felicity asks when he was thinking and Tane says in eight weeks’ time. Felicity says that’s very soon and very specific. Tane says it’s the anniversary of them getting together at the cabin. He asks if she even wants to get married. Felicity doesn’t answer and Tane leaves, passing Cash.
Theo and Kirby arrive back at Lyrik’s house. Theo is impressed by Minnie’s editing but says he wouldn’t want to hang out with her because she’s too intense. Kirby jokes that she’s invited her to do a documrntary on them. She calls out to Remi and Eden, then realises they’re not at home. She says they can’t upload the video without checking with them so she’ll text them to come home. Theo tells her to wait, kissing her and saying they should celebrate first.
Tane turns up at Salt and asks Mackenzie what’s going on with Felicity, since he knows she lied about the wine delivery. Mackenzie advises him to talk to Felicity and refuses to get caught in the middle but does assure him that Felicity adores him. Back at the Parata house, Felicity babbles to Cash, saying it’s eight weeks and she’s not sure if she can ever give him a date and why does it have to be marriage or nothing. Cash finally interrupts, saying he’d kill to have what she and Tane have.
Theo complains about the lack of response from Remi and Eden despite sending them a text with the video attached. They get a text from Justin saying he loves the video. Kirby gets texts from Remi and Eden saying to go ahead. Theo is disappointed at their lack of enthusiasm but happy to post the video and presses the button.
At Salt, Mackenzie and Tane watch the video, which includes clips from Tane’s proposal to Felicity which he didn’t know would be included. Cash and Felicity are also watching it at the Parata house. Felicity awkwardly says she should have spoken to Tane before giving permission, while Cash is clearly affected by seeing Eden and walks away. Mackenzie tells Tane he took Felicity by surprise but Tane freezes on the moment after she said yes and notices her less than happy expression.
Theo and Kirby check texts from Leah and Mackenzie congratulating them, then check the feedback on Theo’s channel, with one of the comments calling them a cute couple. Theo says he’ll reply and notes he never thought this would happen to him six months ago.
Tane laments to Mackenzie that he thought Felicity was on board. Felicity comes in and Mackenzie leaves them alone to talk. Felicity sees the image Tane is still frozen on. She says it’s happening fast. Tane accepts she’s not ready to get married and says the wedding’s off. Felicity chases him from the surf club and tells him that she does want to be with him for the rest if her life. Tane agrees to slow down. Pleased that he’d do that for her, Felicity changes her mind and decides they’ll get married in eight weeks.
At the Diner, John tells Irene that Jett hasn’t heard from Marilyn. Irene says that everyone she’s been in touch with says the same. John says Cash is right that they can’t force Marilyn to come back and complains about her not saying goodbye. Irene suggests giving Cash time to do his job, which gives John an idea. Cash is watching the Lyrik video at the police station when Irene and John turn up and announce they want to report Marilyn as a missing person, arguing that no-one knows where she is. Cash says that’s not a missing person but agrees to look into it officially.
Theo and Kirby turn up at Salt and Mackenzie calls them rock stars, congratulating them on the video, which she has been posted on Salt’s socials. Theo and Kirby debate if Tully will review the video. Kirby gets a text but says it’s a negative comment but not from Tully. In fact, it’s from Bob commenting on how quickly she’s moved on with Theo. They head back to the Lyrik house where Kirby continues to attribute her mood to internet trolls. Theo decides to go home and sleep. After he’s gone, Kirby texts Bob back, saying it’s none of his business.
Cash is on the phone and learns there’s no activity on Marilyn’s bank accounts. He asks about CCTV and checks something on the computer, saying there she is. Later, Felicity turns up and tells Cash what she and Tane have decided then asks him about Eden. Cash says it’s over. Felicity says that’s what Eden said too but encourages him, saying he could have what he wants with her.
