Dan lashes out at Jesse, as his relationship with Leah reaches crisis point. Josie’s duplicity continues. Irene declares war on the Surf Club.
Extended Summary
Leah manages to fight off Jesse. Leah’s shaking with anger and fear. Jesse leaves the Dan confronts Leah about Jesse and she tries to explain but he can only see one thing… She lied to him – just like Amanda did. It’s clear he’s not going to forgive her soon. He’s even sleeping on the lounge. The next day, Leah is sitting on the beach when Jesse comes up and tries to apologise. What can he do? Leah says he may have ruined the great love of her life. Jesse feels bad, but it’s too late.
It’s Beth’s first official day at the Juice Bar. Alf wants them all to come up with ideas to draw in more punters. Beth comes up with the idea of healthy meals. Irene hears this and is ropeable. It means they’ll be competing with the Diner! Alf says all’s fair in love and business. Irene declares war.
Kim’s got Colleen signing on the dotted line for one of the apartments but Josie seems to be trying to stop him. He can’t work her out. Brett’s bought a new block of land near the Boat Wharf and is looking at ways to use it. He’s not very impressed with Kim’s selling record – improve or he’s out. Kim hears that Scott’s having trouble making money from the Blaxland. He pitches an idea to Brett – they can build a marina on the land and Scott can run it. Brett’s enthusiastic, but Josie says Scott’s the wrong man for the job. Brett says they just won’t go with Scott. Kim can’t believe it! What’s Josie up to? He has to tell Scott the idea was his. Scott is furious – it’ll put him out of business. Hayley defends Kim, and Scott has a go at her and then heads off.
Josie tells her mystery friend Jay she wants to speed up proceedings. She orders him to get on a plane and get back to Summer Bay.
Scott tells Beth that Hayley and Kim seem to be coming closer together. It worries him. Beth says if he can’t deal with their friendship then he’s got the problem. He can’t blame them. Beth’s words hit home for Scott.
Jesse tries to talk Dan around about Leah, but Dan punches him. Jesse breaks into the school and tries to drink himself into oblivion. Hyde finds him but can’t rouse him. He gets on the phone to the ambulance and Flynn races over. He thinks it’s alcohol poisoning. He needs to get his stomach pumped.
Dan’s at home and when Leah gets home that afternoon, he tells her the engagement’s off!
