Extended Summary

Mercedes is playing the violin outside the Lyrik house. Inside, Eden emerges from her room and asks what the noise is. Remi says it’s Bach and reminds her Mercedes needs to practice four hours a day. Eden wonders why she’s there. Remi says she couldn’t stay at Felicity’s. Eden makes it clear she means in Summer Bay. Mercedes comes in and Eden asks if she has an orchestra in Berlin to get to. Remi says to play nice. Mercedes notes Eden’s still not a morning person. Eden disappears into her room and Remi says to both play nice.

Tane follows Felicity to Salt. She says she has to work, before insisting he can’t see past the assault when he looks at her, which Tane denies. Cash turns up and wonders if Felicity’s all right to be working there. Felicity says she just wants to get on with things. Meanwhile, Leah and Justin arrive home from hospital, with Justin on crutches. Justin worries about Andrew being interviewed by the DPP, with Theo having gone with him. Leah reminds Justin he couldn’t have gone: He’s still recovering and he’s a witness. She notes Irene dropped a lot of food round to take her mind off things and they catch up on the fact Roo was still in surgery when Leah spoke to Alf, and Bree is looking after John. Justin gets Leah to sit with him for a bit, saying he’s lucky to have her.

Eden heads out, saying the house is cramped. Remi reminds her Kirby is looking after Marilyn’s place. He then asks Mercedes why she actually is still there: He asked for her help winning Battle of the Bands and they didn’t win. He admits he might have to get a real job to pay for the album. He gets a text from Bree saying she’s going home after night shift. Mercedes offers to help him figure out a Plan B, saying she might want to play on the album.

Over at the Parata house, Tane tells Cash that he’s always doing the wrong thing. He recalls what Bree said about Felicity seeing a counsellor but he can’t even get her to have breakfast. Cash notes she’s shutting down and pushing people away. Tane tells him about her outburst at Salt last night. Cash encourages him to hang in there.

Eden finds Felicity on the balcony at Salt. Felicity tells her about Tane rejecting her, saying he doesn’t want to touch her because it makes him think about what happened. Eden asks if he actually said that. Felicity says he denied it to protect her. Eden suggests he might be telling the truth and says Felicity and Tane have gone through things and come out stronger. Felicity wonders what will happen to them if he can never get past this.

Outside the Lyrik house, Mercedes shows Remi her bike and says it’s his for an hour, suggesting that riding it and thinking might help him figure out a Plan B. Remi gladly accepts and rides off. Eden arrives as he’s leaving and is bemused by the sight. Mercedes notes Eden always looks like that when she sees her. Eden snaps that not everything’s about Mercedes.

Across the road, Cash says counselling is a good idea but he’s not sure how to talk Felicity into it. Eden arrives to see Tane, telling him what Felicity said about being scared of losing him and him not wanting her anymore. Tane says he’ll sort it. After he’s gone, Eden notes the person who did this to Felicity is out there living their life. Cash agrees it’s not fair.

Felicity meets Tane near the beach on her break. Tane says he and Eden are worried about her. He says he knows he’s not getting this right but asks her not to push him away. Felicity insists she wants to forget about it and move on. Tane says her self-destructing again is what will ruin their marriage. Felicity asks if that’s all and walks away.

Justin hobbles back to the sofa and Leah tells him to get off the foot, despite him arguing movement will do him good. He tells her Cash has arranged to put his commuity service on hold and for him to do his anger management counselling online. He worries about Andrew giving evidence against people he used to trust and was scared of.

Remi goes for his bike ride around the country roads. When he arrives back at the house, Mercedes asks what he’s thinking, then shows him a video of the crowd celebrating their performance. They are both certain they would have won if they hadn’t withdrawn. Meanwhile, Justin continues to worry about how Andrew is holding up in the interview. He reflects on how none of this would have happened if he hadn’t brought Andrew home. Leah says he did the right thing and thinks Andrew needs to move in with them permanently.

Cash and Eden arrive back at the Lyrik house to find Remi and Mercedes still watching videos of the concert. Cash wonders where they got it from and they say there’s loads of them online. Eden follows Cash from the house: He is planning to go back to the station, even though he hasn’t slept. He says he needs to give the footage to facial recognition and it might even show Felicity’s drink being spiked. Eden warns him it’s hundreds of people on thousands of hours of footage but Cash says he has to do something.

Tane is cleaning the pool as Felicity arrives home, saying she gave herself an early mark. She apologises, saying ignoring painful things is a default thing for her but she knows he’s right that she’ll end up putting him through the same thing as last time. Tane reminds her about the idea of talking to a counsellor and she agrees she should. They hug. Back at the Morgan house, Leah tells Justin that Theo messaged her to say they’ve finished the meeting. Justin wonders about asking Andrew to stay permanently and worries it’s not what he wants. Leah tells him not to get ahead.

Remi and Mercedes are still looking over comments on the video as Eden comes back in. Eden says there’s a hotel not far away and wonders why Mercedes is still there. Mercedes says Kirby invited her to stay and she and Remi have been discussing the album. Eden isn’t impressed and tells Mercedes to leave. Remi says she’s not going anyway. Eden walks out. Remi tells Mercedes it’s not about her.
