Extended Summary

Andrew and Theo are driving back into town. Andrew asks Theo to pull over. Theo suspects that it was hard for Andrew to hear what happened to his mum. Andrew says he feels bad about it but didn’t really know her. He is more worried about the fact that the police had to let most of Vita Nova go. Theo thinks the important thing is Margot’s behind bars and tells him he’s safe.

Remi joins Eden outside the house and deduces something is going on with Cash. Eden says he wants to help Felicity but can’t, despite Remi saying he seemed to have an idea before. Remi questions her attitude towards Mercedes. Eden says Remi’s making plans with her. Remi says Mercedes doesn’t have to be in the album. Eden admits that they sound better with her but decides to wait two more minutes before speaking to her.

Inside, Bree turns up and encounters Mercedes. She is shocked to hear Remi rode her motorbike. Remi comes in and Bree notes she didn’t know he had a motorbike license. Remi says he hasn’t come off once and Bree says most people only do come off once. She gets a call about John and has to go into work. Eden appears and Mercedes asks if she has to move out. Eden says they should talk.

Theo and Andrew arrive back at the Morgan house to a greeting from Justin and Leah, with Justin and Andrew checking the other is all right. Andrew goes to lie down. Theo says the DPP told Andrew about his mother but while Margot and the guy who shot Justin are on remand, they had to let the others go.

Irene tries to assure John that Bree will be there soon. John thanks her for staying with him, before suddenly clutching his chest just before Bree arrives. Irene says he was dizzy before. Bree orders bloods and an ECG. John asks if he’s having a heart attack. Bree doesn’t think so and says his heart rate’s high. Back at the Lyrik house, Mercedes queries Remi about Bree not knowing he rides a bike and thinks she was uptight about it. Eden brings coffee over and says she hasn’t spit in Mercedes’ this time. She says the clips of them together were pretty good and, with a bit of pushing, admits she liked them. Mercedes says she can see that hurt. Eden suggests they call a truce and get the album made.

Bree tells John she’s going to give him medication to get his heart rate down but he’ll feel worse before he feels better: His heart will feel like it’s stopping and it’ll be very intense. John gives permission. Bree administers the medication and tells the nurse to draw up some more as John goes into a panic. Irene gets anxious as well as John flatlines but moments later the machines start beeping again and John relaxes. Bree says they’ll keep him in ICU overnight for monitoring.

Mercedes offers to ring round and see if she can get a studio for mates’ rates. Eden says they already tried that but Mercedes says she hasn’t tried that yet. Remi says once they know how much they need, they can sort out the money. Eden wonders how he’s going to do that but Remi says they’ll find a way. Much later, Eden gets up for a drink and finds Mercedes watching videos on the sofa. Mercedes says they don’t have to be besties but they both want to do it for Remi. Eden agrees. After she’s gone back to bed, Mercedes watches a video that focuses on her and Remi.

Leah has gone to the Diner to get dessert. Andrew has insisted on accompanying her, despite feeling tired. Leah tries to talk to him about his mum. Andrew says he won’t let it happen to anyone else. Leah realises that’s why he came with her and tries to convince him things will settle down. Andrew requests chocolate cake. During the night, Theo gets up and finds Andrew sitting alone in the dark. He asks about the large bread knife Andrew’s holding.

Bree checks on John at the hospital, saying there’s no heart damage; Irene is sat up in a chair next to him. John tries to get her to go home but she insists on staying, even if it means not getting any sleep. John says he’s been reflecting on the fact he’s lonely. Irene protests that he has plenty of friends. John says he’s going home to an empty house and there’s got to be more to life than that.

Leah and Justin have joined Theo and Andrew. Everyone tries to convince Andrew that the police are watching the cult members and he’s safe there. Andrew thinks the cult will punish him. Leah tries to get him to go to bed. Theo convinces him to sleep on a mattress in his room. Leah puts the knife back.

Next morning, Mercedes is loading her bags onto the bike. Eden says she can stay but Mercedes says there’s no need to tempt fate. Remi and Bree come out; Mercedes notes she didn’t hear Bree come in and Bree says she tried not to wake her. Mercedes says she’ll stick around for the album and get somewhere local. She rides off.

Leah checks Justin is okay looking after Andrew: She’s going to the DPP to tell them Andrew’s too traumatised to testify and maybe also get an AVO. Justin doubts you can take out an AVO against an entire cult. After Leah’s gone, Theo emerges and wonders where Andrew is: His bed’s empty and the knife’s gone.

Theo finds Andrew on the beach with a rucksack and says he told Justin there was no need to worry but now he’s not so sure. Andrew doesn’t think he can stay there and won’t be the reason Theo loses his family. He thinks it’s best that he leaves and no-one knows where he is. Theo goes a short distance away and calls Justin, telling him what’s going on and wanting him there. Aware of his mobility issues, Justin tells Theo to get Andrew to the Diner and not let him leave.
