Felicity and Tane’s marriage is put to the test. Marilyn vows to get justice for her friend.

Extended Summary

Tane finds Felicity swimming in the pool. He asks her about giving her statement but she wants to drop it. Tane says he wants to know where she’s at. Felicity says the blood test results confirm she was drugged. Tane starts to apologise but Felicity cuts him off, saying she’s done all she can and refusing to talk anymore.

Bree notes Roo’s vitals have stabilised. Irene and Marilyn come in and Bree says Roo’s stable for now but is being ventilated and there’s only so much they can do to keep her blood pressure up: She needs surgery to relieve the pressure on her spinal column, which means being airlifted to the city. As Bree leaves to organise things, Kirby also comes in. Marilyn takes Roo’s hand as Irene notes it’s not fair.

Mackenzie greets Rose and Mali on their arrival at the farm house and says Xander told her what happened. She notes she brought back half the menu from Salt. Rose says it would have been a lot worse if Mali hadn’t been there but Mali doesn’t want to talk about it. Mackenzie offers to reheat some food but Mali says he’s going to clean up, declining Rose’s offer of help.

Marilyn shows Kirby the text with the picture of the bomb and they reflect on how the bomb was in the Diner all that time. Irene comes back in with coffees and says John’s out of surgery and they think there’s no permanent damage. She goes to check on him. Marilyn and Kirby discuss giving statements to Cash and how he isn’t happy they ignored his advice. Kirby apologises for pushing Marilyn, who says there’s no way they could have predicted this.

Rose gets off a phone call with Cash and says forensics are looking over the bomb. Mackenzie gives Rose and Mali some food but Mali says he’s not feeling good. Mackenzie offers to stay but Rose says she can look after Mali and Mackenzie concludes she’s the third wheel, leaving them to it. Rose offers to call Elandra but Mali doesn’t want his family fussing, saying to leave it until he’s spoken to the specialist.

Tane has joined Felicity in the pool. He apologises for pushing her to talk. She says she knows something way more fun and starts kissing him passionately. Tane asks if she’s sure before pulling away. Felicity recoils from him and gets out of the pool, saying there’s no need to make an issue out of it.

Mali is looking up how much your ear affects your balance and tells Rose that he’s worried about how he can do surf lessons without going in the water. Rose says it can wait. Irene turns up and asks to talk to Mali, saying she’s got an update on John, who is back to his old self. She thanks Mali for saving him. Rose notes Mali doesn’t like being called a hero. Back at the hospital, Marilyn is on the phone to Martha and tells her to go straight to the city hospital where Roo is being sent. Bree worries that Roo isn’t stabilising.

Felicity is getting dressed in her room. Tane tries to talk to her, saying he wasn’t rejecting her. Felicity says she’s busy, pausing as she sees a Battle of the Bands flyer. She says she’s going to work and wants to get back to normal as soon as possible. At Salt, Kirby orders a salad and asks Mackenzie about Mali, telling her what’s going on with Roo. Tane and Felicity turn up and Kirby is surprised that Felicity’s there. Mackenzie wonders why she wouldn’t be. Felicity bluntly tells her she had her drink spiked and was sexually assaulted before saying she wants to move on.

Tane talks to Mackenzie about how no-one saw anything. Felicity cuts in, saying to ask her whatever they want to know but she doesn’t actually remember anything. Kirby tries to retrieve her drink from the bar but Felicity pours it away, saying she left it unattended. She then loudly announces that no-one is allowed to buy a drink for someone else. Mackenzie is willing to go with it but Tane asks Felicity if shouting at the customers is normal. Felicity snaps that she’s working. Later, Felicity reiterates to a customer that he’s only allowed one drink and his friend will have to buy their own. Tane tries to get Felicity to come home at the end of her shift. Mackenzie helps convinces her to go, promising to enforce her new rule.

Marilyn speaks to the unconscious Roo as she is about to be taken away, saying Alf and Martha will meet her at the city hospital and begging her to get better. Bree has Roo taken out. At the farm house, Rose asks Mali why he’s so reluctant to accept people’s thanks. He thinks he didn’t do anything that Rose wouldn’t have done. Rose says she’s a police officer, so she’s meant to go towards bombs. She calls him extraordinary and this time he’s willing to accept it.

Tane and Felicity arrive home. Felicity drags him to the bedroom, pushes him down onto the bed and starts kissing him. Tane pulls away and says he wants her to tell him what it’s about. Felicity tells him to get out and Tane reluctantly complies. Felicity hugs herself. Next morning, Tane meets Bree near the beach and asks for her advice about Felicity. Bree says he has to be prepared for the fact she might not want to be intimate. Tane explains it’s the opposite. Bree says Felicity’s not the first person to respond that way. She suggests a counsellor but says Felicity’s reaction is valid.

Tane arrives home to find Felicity leaving for work. He asks if they can spend some time together. Felicity thinks he doesn’t want to be with her because of what happened and finds her disgusting because someone else touched her. She walks away.
