Extended Summary

Ava and Kirby are on the beach with coffees as Justin and Theo come back from a surf. Ava hands coffees to them both. She wonders how they handle social media with the band. Justin says they had to block someone recently. Theo says he understands some people feel an intense connection with a song and Ava agrees. Justin asks after Remi, who Kirby hasn’t seen today, although Theo says he seemed to be enjoying the gig. They both worry about Felicity after her unplugging them. Meanwhile, Mackenzie and Gabe arrive at the surf club. Mackenzie tries to argue that Felicity’s behaviour was a one-off. She sees Tane and goes over to him, asking about her. Tane explains about Felicity staying at a caravan.

Felicity emerges from her van, blinking in the sunlight. Alf approaches with a mostly empty bottle of rum which she denies is hers. He says there were complaints about loud music late at night. Felicity says it won’t happen again. Alf says she can come to the house if she wants to talk. Tane approaches; Alf denies calling him and leaves the bottle behind. Tane tries to talk to Felicity about what Mackenzie said. Felicity dismisses it as letting off steam and says she needs to take a shower. Tane says he’ll wait. Felicity has no choice but to grab a towel and head off. Meanwhile, Remi has his bags packed. Bree turns up and expresses surprise that Eden and Kirby haven’t talked him round. Remi admits they’re not there but argues that Kirby can look after Eden and the band can get a new guitarist. Bree shows him the note.

At the Diner, Irene asks Justin, Theo, Kirby and Ava about Leah and also welcomes Ava back. Ava asks Theo what he’s doing today and Theo says he’s thinking of writing a new song. Ava asks him about writing Someone Like You. Theo says he and Kirby wrote it together and Ava says it’s nothing without a good singer. He and Kirby leave to collect the amps and Justin insists Ava stay behind to discuss how long she’s staying.

At Salt, Mackenzie asks Gabe if they did more than break even. Gabe says it was a good night and the band was a hit. Theo and Kirby come in and Mackenzie thanks them, checking they’re okay to do more gigs without the full line-up. Kirby jokes with Theo about Ava showing an interest in him. Gabe tells Mackenzie they need to talk about Felicity. Mackenzie admits Felicity’s not in the best head space but doesn’t want to hurt her or Salt. Gabe says she has to draw the line somewhere.

Tane is still waiting for Felicity as she returns. He refuses to leave without talking to her and asks if they’re done. Felicity looks uncertain. Later, she tries to argue that it’s her choice whether she has a drink or not. Tane replies that they’re not talking about just one. Felicity says drinking is how she chooses to cope. Tane says it’s just a temporary fix and reminds her she’s his fiance. Felicity says not any more. She takes the ring and throws it at him (causing it to bounce off his chest and end up on the floor), then walks away.

Remi has looked over the letter. Bree explains that when she wrote it she thought she’d never see him again. She admits that nothing has changed and she still isn’t ready for a relationship. They go for a walk by the beach where Remi says this is just more torture for him, knowing what they could have. Bree says she wants to come back to him and asks him to wait for her.

Justin tells Ava that Nina told him things got tense when she got a boyfriend. He asks who he is and where she met him but Ava calls it an invasion of privacy. She stops Justin taking her bag and says she’ll wait outside. Justin comments to Irene that Ava couldn’t stop talking when she was younger. Back at the Morgan house, Kirby tells Theo that she has enough money to pay the rent and the bills now. Theo gets a friends request from Ava and Kirby teases him about her having a crush on him. Justin and Ava come home and Ava immediately shuts herself away in her room. Justin goes to check on Buddy. Ava takes out a familiar scrapbook full of photos of Theo and adds the photo of them from the previous night, taping over Kirby.

Mackenzie and Gabe come down from Salt; Gabe is feeling tired and suggests a weekend away. Mackenzie tells him she doesn’t feel able to leave Felicity and Salt. Tane comes back in and tells Mackenzie Felicity gave him back the engagement ring and told him they’re over. Back at the Lyrik house, Remi offers Bree the note back but she says she wrote it for him. Remi agrees to wait for her.

Kirby is writing while Ava plays her video of the gig to Theo. She looks at him adoringly but Theo doesn’t notice. Justin comes back in and Kirby points out Theo came in late during the song; Ava tries to defend him but Theo doesn’t mind. Kirby asks Ava about posting the video on their socials and Ava says as long as they tag her. Justin asks if she’s going to send it to her boyfriend but Ava refuses to talk about it. Kirby leaves.

Mackenzie finds Felicity drinking at the caravan park and comments that it’s one way to get rid of a hangover. She says she spoke to Tane and thinks Felicity needs sorting out. She says Felicity could have ruined last night and is setting fire to her life and threatening to take Salt with it. Felicity thinks this is Gabe speaking.

Felicity storms off back to Salt where Tane is at the bar and tells Gabe to talk to her if he has something to say. She says who he’s sleeping with doesn’t give him a say in the place and to get out. Mackenzie nods for Gabe to go, apologising. Tane tries to talk to Felicity but she says it’s nothing to do with him now either.

Ava asks Theo about the song he’s working on but he says he’s not ready to share it yet. Justin tries to get Ava to come for a walk with him and says sooner or later she has to go back to her school and her friends and sort things out with her mum. Ava accuses him of not wanting her around and storms out.

Tane arrives home. He finds the wedding invitation pinned to the fridge door. He takes it down, screws it up and throws it in the bin.
