Extended Summary
Marilyn is lying on the ground in the park. She tries to reach her bag and phone, touching the strap, but doesn’t manage it. Next morning, Cash is by the beach trying to call Felicity. Detective Darren Nasser, the senior federal police officer, comes over and introduces himself, before saying he wants to look at the crime scene. Cash sends him on ahead, saying he’ll meet him in there. Jasmine comes along and Cash tells her about Darren and that he can’t get hold of Felicity. He wants to talk to her before handing over the receipt but thinks her actions aren’t that of an innocent person. Jasmine says someone might react like this if wrongly accused and tries to call her.
At the Diner, Felicity rejects the call. She seems to be lost in thought until she hears Alf asking when Cash is going to catch the person who did it. Felicity says it’s nothing to do with her and rushes out, leaving her takeaway behind. Irene asks Alf and Roo if they’ve seen Marilyn, who hasn’t turned up for work. They haven’t but will see if she’s there when they go home before going back to the hospital. Meanwhile, Mackenzie is walking through the park, on the phone to a customer who is cancelling despite the deep clean. She hears Marilyn call out and hurries over to her. Marilyn explains she can’t move her legs and Mackenzie calls an ambulance.
Soon after, Mackenzie is accompanying Marilyn as she is brought into the hospital where Logan is working. Marilyn explains about not being able to move her legs, with Mackenzie adding that she spent the whole night out there. Later, Logan does tests on her feeling and movement in the legs but there’s nothing. When he squeezes her hand, she finds that has gone numb too. Logan admits it could be a result of the organophosphate and sends her for a CT scan.
At the surf club, Darren asks Cash about Tane and also comments on the ventilation, saying it was a lot of collateral damage. He asks if Tane has any enemies and Cash mentions there were some a while ago who are in jail, before telling him about Flick taking out the AVO. Felicity chooses that moment to appear and Cash introduces her and Darren to each other. Darren says he’ll need a statement from her. After he’s gone, Felicity insists she’s been set up. Cash queries someone simply leaving a piece of paper in her van and says he can’t make an attempted murder charge go away. Felicity goes back to her van, panicking.
Jasmine goes to the van and, on getting no answer to her knock, goes inside. She promises Felicity that they’re not all against her. Felicity wonders why Jasmine didn’t ask her about the receipt. Jasmine says she’d have had to tell Cash anyway. Felicity can’t think of anyone that would do it and thinks Cash doesn’t believe she’s innocent. At the hospital, Alf, Roo and Mackenzie meet with Logan, who is unable to give Alf any definite information, leaving him frustrated. Logan finds Mackenzie on her own, upset. She tells him about spending all night on the floor because of her ectopic pregnancy, explaining this has brought it all back.
Jasmine finds Cash at the surf club and tells him she spoke to Felicity. They both agree that she wouldn’t have held onto the receipt if she was guilty. However, Cash admits he thinks it might be a prank gone wrong and is scared to look into the receipt. Later, at the police station, Darren ponders how someone would have got hold of the pesticide, having to prompt Cash to call round. After he’s gone, however, Cash goes into the office and calls the company on the receipt, saying he needs information on a purchase.
At the Diner, Irene tells Jasmine and Felicity about Marilyn. Darren comes in and asks Felicity to come in for a statement that afternoon. Felicity tries to put it off but Jasmine encourages her to get it out of the way. At the hospital, Alf is visiting Marilyn. She suggests he goes to be with Martha but he says he was just there and will stay with her until Mackenzie gets back.
Cash arrives back at the police station and is concerned to find Felicity with Darren. Felicity says she gave him her alibi. Cash drives her back to the caravan park, where he tells her the chemicals were bought online using a pre-paid money card and the delivery address was an abandoned house, meaning he can’t prove she didn’t do it. He notes Jasmine believes she’s innocent and he should have done the same. Felicity asks if her alibi is enough to erase the evidence of the receipt. Cash promptly burns it.
At the Diner, Irene and Roo are discussing Marilyn and Martha, with Roo annoyed it’s happening because someone had a problem with Tane and recalling the animosity between him and Felicity. She then gets a call from the hospital saying Martha’s come round. Meanwhile, Marilyn tells Alf she can’t breathe and he hurries to get help. Logan says the paralysis has spread to her lungs and they need to intubate.
