Extended Summary

Mackenzie and Logan pass each other on the beach, only exchanging a few words but unable to keep their eyes off each other as they part. At the Parata house, Mia is preparing to go back to work and Ari checks she’s ready. Mia says the doctor gave her the all-clear. She asks about Tane. Ari doesn’t really know what’s going on but suspects it’s to do with Ziggy. He offers her breakfast but she says she’ll grab a coffee and refuses his offer to walk her in.

Leah and Justin run into Tori, who is doing yoga on the beach while they seem to have been swimming and surfing respectively. Tori says she has to get a coffee and pick up Grace, then hopes to spend time with Christian. Leah notes she has to go into work as well but Justin is more relaxed about the idea, saying since John bought the garage, nothing needs to change. Meanwhile, Christian runs into Logan at Salt. Logan comments on the scenery and Christian asks if he’s planning to stick around. He invites Logan over for lunch to meet his fiance. Logan congratulates him but isn’t sure about intruding. Christian says he’s just having a barbie so Logan agrees.

Leah and Justin are interrupted by Christian and Logan. Christian does introductions, explaining Logan is with the medical response team that saved Dean and Nikau. Leah heads off to work and Justin leaves as well, saying Tori will be home soon. Christian asks how Logan ended up in Summer Bay while Logan asks about him saving Nikau from two bleeds. Meanwhile, Tori runs into Mia outside the Diner and asks how she is. Mia rather abruptly says she’s as well as you’d expect, before explaining she can’t talk to Ari: She thinks he’ll try and talk her into trying for a baby again like he always does but she can’t do it again. Tori gets a text and Mia leaves, with Tori saying she can talk to her if she needs to.

Irene and Marilyn are gushing over Grace inside as Tori comes in. Marilyn asks about Tori organising the wedding again, saying to let her know when to rebook her ticket. Tori admits they haven’t talked about venues or dates yet. She gets another call from Christian and heads home. Tori notes there’s an extra set of cutlery and Christian explains he invited an old colleague, an ex-army trauma surgeon. Moments later, Logan appears from the bathroom. He is amused, and Tori annoyed, to realise they’ve already met.

Alf finds Ari on the pier and chats to him about Nikau before asking how Ari himself is. Ari says he’s worried about Mia, explaining she was pregnant and they were waiting to tell people. He says she keeps shutting him out: He doesn’t want to push her but can’t help if she doesn’t talk to him. Alf tells him to keep turning up and be there when she’s ready. Ari goes to the gym to check on Mia, who says she’s busy and declines his offer of help. She says he should go if he’s not going to work out. Ari decides to choose working out, saying he’ll make it a long session.

Justin turns up at the Diner, saying the jobs at the garage are cleared and Ziggy’s there, and encouraging Leah to take a break with him. Leah says she can’t take her break whenever she wants and suggests he eat at home. Irene and Marilyn relate that Tori’s hoping to spend time with Christian, and Leah and Justin explain about Logan being there. Justin thinks a dinner with three doctors would be dull. At the Morgan house, Tori complains to Christian about Logan taking over her ED, saying she didn’t tell him before because he proposed. Christian encourages her to give Logan a chance. Logan offers to leave but Christian and (through gritted teeth) Tori tell him he’s welcome to stay.

Ari is punching a bag. Mia says he’s not going to wait her out. Ari agrees but says he’ll speak to her at home, reminding her they promised each other and Chloe that they would talk things through if things went wrong. Mia refuses to talk and walks out. Ari follows her outside and Mia babbles that there’s going to be no more talk about trying for babies and she’s not going to change her mind. Ari says he’s not asking her to but Mia carries on, saying if it’s a deal-breaker he needs to tell her, before hurrying away.

Over lunch, Christian is telling a story about how Logan kept operating when his base was under fire. Logan downplays it and asks Tori if she’s ever worked outside the hospital system. Tori says family circumstances didn’t allow it. Logan says she runs a tight ED and Tori says she puts protocols in place for a reason. Logan is amused that she’s still holding that against him, saying he put patient welfare before her ego. He thanks them for lunch and tells Christian he’ll meet him for a beer some time. Meanwhile, Ari is looking at Sophia’s scan photo as Mia arrives home. Mia offers to let him move on and find someone who can give him a baby. Ari tells her he wanted a baby with her, but if there is no baby, then he’s happy with just her.

Christian suggests Tori will find out Logan’s decent if she gets to know him, adding that he speaks his mind. He also points out Logan got the best result for Dean but says he’ll meet him at Salt from now on, noting Tori’s scary when she’s angry. Meanwhile, Justin returns to the Diner saying he closed the garage. Irene asks how he’s doing with John as landlord. Justin again fails to convince Leah to go for a break with him before leaving. Irene, Leah and Marilyn discuss the fact that Justin’s stress-free now.

As Justin is walking away from the Diner, he gets a call about the garage alarm going off. Meanwhile, Alf comes into the Diner and tells Irene he’s been flat-out at the bait shop, since Roo is still checking out art galleries with Martha. Roo enters at that moment and tells Alf, Irene and Marilyn she’ll let Martha tell them what they decided. Nearby, Leah gets a call from Justin about the alarm. He’s at the garage and says he can’t stand around doing nothing, instead slipping under the roller door.
