Extended Summary
Morag and Jesse are co-conspirators in the fight against Macklin Corp but haven’t’ found anything yet. Jesse’s so obsessed with the case and Morag that he’s paying no attention to Martha and she’s finding it difficult to deal with. Jesse goes to the resort office to confront Josie but she tells him to back off – there’s more to this than he knows. Brett arrives and kicks Jesse out. Jesse tells Morag and she tells him his hotheadedness is becoming a liability – stay out of it.
Flynn finds Ric and Cassie together in Ric’s bedroom and notes their physical ease together. Alf sees the two teens being quite close the same day and gets worried. He has a word to Flynn and Sally about it and they sit down with Ric and Cassie and set out ground rules. Cassie and Ric are fine with it.
A new student has arrived at school: Diesel Williams. He gets teased because of his alternative appearance. Matilda gets to show him around the school and falls for him straight away. Sally takes Diesel under her with some protection when he gets teased and some money when she realizes he’s got none for lunch. Diesel invites Matilda and Cassie to a bonfire at the beach that night. Matilda worries that Beth will catch her. Cassie tells her not to worry – she’ll work it out. Matilda asks Henry to cover for her with Beth and he reluctantly agrees. Ric and Cassie ask to go to the party at the beach but Sally won’t let them on a school night. Cassie sneaks out anyway – despite Ric’s exhortations not to.
Back at the Resort office, Josie makes a secret call and says, “Don’t worry, no-one suspects a thing. Brett nearly springs her but she covers. She thinks they should reveal their plans soon, but Brett wants to leave it as long as possible so there’s no time to protest. He gets wind that Morag is making investigations and Josie promises to take care of it. She confronts Morag and accuses her of blackmail over the 1989 secret. Morag says she’ll stay out of her life if she clears the resort out of town. Josie says she can’t. She’s reeling from Morag’s threat. Brett is fuming. He’s going to do something about it.
Robbie is going for his driving test to get his Ps. Now he plans to buy a car. Tasha’s thrilled. He promises her they’ll work out ways to fight the resort. Josie tries to speak to Tasha but Tasha is cold. That night, Morag is near the Surf Club when a car tries to run her down, but she jumps to the side and avoids certain death. Who’s trying to kill Morag?
