Matilda’s night of partying ends in tragedy. Sally’s career is on the line in the aftermath of the scandal with Diesel. Dan is forced to confront his true feelings for Leah.
Extended Summary
Diesel’s making life difficult for Sally in class. Sally asks Diesel to stay back to talk. Dan comes in and Sally says he’s going to be there for the whole meeting, to make sure they’re both clear on the matter. As the meeting goes on, Diesel gets more and more defensive until he finally blurts out that it was Sally who kissed him! He walks out. Dan’s shocked to hear that they’ve kissed. He goes after him and asks for the truth. Diesel says it is the truth is… Sally kissed him!
Dan tries to persuade Sally to talk to Hyde. Sally says it will ruin her career. She still thinks Diesel will cool down. Diesel watches from a distance. He feels totally betrayed by Sally. Later that day Sally gets a visit from Hyde. Diesel’s made a complaint about inappropriate behaviour and Hyde has to follow procedure… Sally’s suspended until further notice!
Leah’s completely distracted over Dan. She hears Alf tell Colleen and Irene that Dan’s not going ahead with the grog order for the wedding – the day’s cancelled. A devastated Leah goes for a walk. Dan comes to the Diner and Colleen takes the chance to tell him how much Leah is suffering. She doesn’t want to see two lovers parted. It gives Dan food for thought. He goes to Leah and they chat. Dan says he’s prepared to give it a go. The engagement is back on!
Matilda lies and tells Beth she wants to go to the concert with Emma. Beth says she can go with Robbie and the others. Ric finds out Callan’s going to be at the concert with Matilda and tries to warn him off, but Callan’s not scared. Ric won’t be there so what can he do? Ric hears Martha say she’d do anything to go to the concert, so he gives her his tickets on the proviso she keep an eye on Matilda. At the concert the guys are lining up for ages with Martha and Kim arguing away when Matilda slips off to find Callan.
When they realize she’s gone, they head after her and Matilda jumps into Callan’s car to avoid being caught. She drops her bag and ticket and Callan says they’ll have to forget the concert and go somewhere else. Martha and the rest find Matilda’s bag and realize they’ll have to find Matilda. They jump in to the car. Callan takes Matilda to a bush road for a smoke (of some whacko tobacco) and she gets out of the car and starts to act weird. When she won’t get in, he drives off. Meanwhile Robbie and the others are driving along, arguing with Martha when he hits something. They race back to see what it was and find Matilda lying on the road. Robbie is frantic – what has he done?
