Extended Summary

Ryder continues to call out for help and manages to attract the attention of Alf and Marilyn, telling them about Raffy’s seizure. As Ryder and Marilyn tend to Raffy, Alf calls for an ambulance. Raffy starts to come round. Back at the Morgan house, Tori tells Leah that dating Justin does not give her the right to interfere in family business, saying she’s not a trained medical professional and there’s too many voices already. She walks out, leaving Leah and Justin alone. Justin starts to stammer a response but then gets a phone call from Marilyn.

Ryder and Marilyn accompany Raffy into the hospital, with Leah, Justin, Tori and Mason arriving moments later. Tori takes over her care and, when Mason gives her a few pointed glares and remarks, clears everyone else out. Raffy says she felt a strange taste in her mouth and then blacked out and can’t believe it’s happening again. Tori says they don’t know anything for sure yet. At Salt, Simone tells Brody she had a successful job interview for maternity cover. Brody says he’ll try and get a job in the same area. Their celebration is cut short when Brody gets a text about Raffy. Simone says she’ll cover Salt.

Raffy is brought through the hospital corridor on her way to a CT scan and Ryder is allowed to go with her. Mason tells Tori the scan is pointless since they know what’s wrong but Tori tells him to let her do her job. Leah asks Justin if she can help out, perhaps by getting food, and looks disappointed when he tells her to go home. She passes Brody, who Justin takes for a coffee to explain. Later, Marilyn and Ryder are with Raffy in her room. Justin and Brody arrive; Justin has resorted to buying her grapes and a crochet magazine. Tori says she wants to keep her in overnight for observation. A frustrated Mason walks out and Justin indicates for Brody to follow him. Mason says he’s going to change his statement, since he’s proved the oil works. Brody warns him it could backfire but Mason thinks the information could help other people. Brody goes with him.

At the surf club, Martha tells Roo that she and Alf agreed everything while they were away. Roo checks that she isn’t going to live with Alf but is still dating him. Martha confuses her further by saying she’s too old for dating. Alf arrives and tells Roo to call Ryder about Raffy. Roo says she’ll leave them to their date or dinner. Martha notes they’ve upset Roo with their unconventional arrangement, before Alf compliments her on her appearance. Later, Simone shows Roo to Alf and Martha’s table in Salt and she thanks them for inviting her to their last supper. They tell her they’ve been living apart for thirty years and their time together will be special. Roo suggests they get the seafood platter and the two women make fun of Alf complaining he could catch the fish himself.

Brody and Mason arrive back at the surf club. Mason wants to stop CBD oil being a dark secret but Brody warns him he could end up serving time for supplying to a minor. Mason decides he has to get the word out somehow and heads off while Brody is distracted with a phone call. Upstairs, Martha gives Alf a list of jobs for him to do when he next visits, including repairing the chook house and screen, and also invites Roo on their next trip. Roo says only if it’s to Paris. Alf drinks a toast to the strong independent women who drives him round the bend. Brody joins Simone and tells her the broker got an offer for Salt slightly more than he was asking for, meaning they can afford a restaurant or café of their own. Simone excitedly decides to look up places for sale but Brody looks less enthusiastic.

Mason meets Leah at the Diner and thanks her for sticking up for him earlier. He says he wants to make Raffy’s case known and asks Leah to write about it in her blog. Leah is reluctant, saying she doesn’t want to do it without Justin being okay with it. Mason is annoyed and says he’s going to go to the Coastal News instead. At the hospital, Justin, Marilyn and Ryder are sat around a sleeping Raffy. Justin gets a text from Leah consisting of a ghost emoji. Marilyn wants to take Ryder home and Justin agrees. After they’ve gone, Tori comes in. Justin comments on being back here and says he agrees with Mason: If there’s something that could help Raffy, they should use it.

Next morning, Tori tells Raffy her CT was clear (which isn’t a surprise to her) and she can go home. Justin and Mason arrive and Tori is surprised Mason isn’t dressed for his internship interview. Mason says he’s not going and tells them about changing his statement. He says maybe being a doctor in a hospital isn’t for him: He wants to help people, not be stifled by rules. At the Diner, Leah, Marilyn and Roo say goodbye to Martha before Alf takes her to the airport. Leah tells Roo that Justin hasn’t got back to her. Roo wonders if the ghost emoji was because he was ghosting her, Leah says it was meant to be a cute “Boo!” She tries to get Roo to text her to see if her phone’s working.

Tori, Justin, Mason and Raffy arrive back at the house and Tori goes straight to her room. Mason convinces Justin to go and talk to Leah. Raffy thanks Mason but says that, despite him going public, Tori won’t change her mind. Tori enters and wearily says she’s not the enemy. She agrees to show Mason’s research to Raffy’s medical team and says if they agree she won’t stand in their way. Meanwhile, Leah meets Justin on the beach. She says that before they were together he, Tori and Mason would all ask her for advice and she doesn’t see why things have to change. Justin says things were tense yesterday: Her opinion matters, he agrees with her and he’s told Tori that. Leah calls it their first relationship hiccup. Justin asks what the ghost emoji was about and is bemused when she says it meant “Surprise!”

Brody meets Simone in a park area. She asks about Raffy and he says he hasn’t seen her today but she was better last night. Simone tries to show him some cafes for sale but he says he hasn’t called the broker yet and has to check in on Raffy and the others, although he insists he’s not having second thoughts. Meanwhile, Roo brings Alf a hot drink at the bait shop and notes they’re both missing Martha already. Alf says if the arrangement doesn’t work they can make changes but no-one’s going missing this time.

Brody and Simone are doing prep work at Salt. Brody gets a call from Amanda at Commercial City Brokers but refuses to answer it despite Simone pressing him, saying he hasn’t got the time and thinks they could get a better offer. He snaps that Simone doesn’t know how hard it was to set up Salt and keep it afloat, and maybe he doesn’t want to sell it.
