The bus hostages are eventually rescued from their seemingly inevitable demise. Trey is identified as the potential murderer and goes on the run. Jai’s arm starts to respond to treatment.
Extended Summary
Trapped on the bus knowing that the bomb is counting down to detonate in under one hour, those onboard begin to become restless and anxious at the situation despite Kirsty and John’s best efforts to keep everyone calm. With tension reaching fever pitch, Kirsty and Xavier offer up suggestions on how to get everyone off the bus in one piece, but John immediately vetoes their ideas.
Martha and Hugo, having arriving at their camping site, stumble across the bus and are shocked to learn that Trey’s rigged it with a bomb. Hugo gets under the bus and John talks him through how to dismantle it, but it is a race against time with the bomb set to explode in half-an-hour. Martha joins him and they soon realise that all wires on the bomb are the same colour, further hampering efforts to disarm it.
Following John’s instructions, Martha and Hugo cut the wires of the bomb with just seconds to spare and successfully manage to disarm it. With everyone successfully off the bus and with the bomb now removed, Hugo and John are shocked to find Trey has armed the bomb with a second timer. Scrambling to get rid of it before it explodes, Hugo throws the bomb into the scrub but it suddenly explodes, throwing himself and John to the ground. Later, Martha is concerned when a wounded Hugo is rushed to hospital.
With Martin having raised the alarm that the teens aren’t yet back and that something must be wrong, Charlie volunteers to drive up to where the trek was taking place to see if the bus has broken down along the way. However, when Trey – still running away from the bus – spots Charlie driving up the road he pretends to have collapsed and Charlie stops to help him. At hospital, Trey lies to his mother that he got in a fight with John and later collapsed. Later, while trying to escape, Trey admits to his mother exactly what he’s done and she is mortified, calling him a monster. Upset, Trey begs his mother to help him get away.
