Scott says it was a mistake, he just wants to forget it… but then he trails, spotting something up ahead – it’s Jesse. They rush to Jesse’s side and try to rouse him… Flynn comes racing up. Jesse explains he was hit over the back of the head. Later, Scott comes into the bar to collect Beth. Josie’s sitting alone, having a drink. Scott says he’s sorry about earlier but wants to make it clear that it’s never going to happen between them, and she has to move on…
Irene counsels Hayley about needing to sort this thing with Scott out (the last thing she needs right now is stress). It’s clear to Irene that Hayley still loves Scott, and she wonders what it would take for them to move past this. Hayley doesn’t know. Ever since they found out the baby wasn’t his, the relationship has been slowly falling apart. Thoughtful, Hayley pulls a photo of her and Scott from her purse and looks at it… What will she decide? Hyde gets off the phone and explains that it was Constable Rice – they nabbed Troy last night, he was lurking nearby. Chloe can’t believe he’s been caught. Relief – it’s finally over!
Josie’s packing some things. Jesse arrives to thank her for last night, and asks what she’s doing packing? Josie explains that she meant what she said last week – she ruins everything for everyone; Scott was right – she needs to move on… from the Bay. Jesse tries to talk her out of it but she won’t be swayed – she wants a new beginning, just like he does. She’s going…
Chloe’s alone when her phone rings. It’s Constable Fitzgerald – they’ve had no luck tracking Troy down. Chloe’s stunned when she hears this – what does she mean…? Then Troy appears, and pulls the cord out of the wall. Chloe’s shocked! Troy explains that he called earlier, pretending to be a cop. He wants to talk and tells her not to be scared, he can forgive her for cheating on him… Chloe insists Jesse’s just a friend – but Troy saw the way he had his arm around her… Chloe becomes increasingly freaked by Troy as he moves closer to her. Meanwhile, Jesse’s with Olivia and Sally in the Diner, waiting for Chloe, oblivious to any problems…
Troy strokes Chloe’s face as tears fall down her cheeks… He tries to kiss her, but she pushes him away, making him aggressive… Jesse pulls out his mobile and Chloe’s phone lights up. She tries to answer it but Troy snatches it away. Jesse’s call rings out. He’s becoming concerned now. The argument escalates between Chloe and Troy. Chloe is about to be hit when she manages to run from the house, desperate and fearful. Troy chases, screaming at her to stop. He chases her again and corners her in the park, he is about to lay in to her when… Jesse appears and clobbers him, Troy is laying on the ground. In tears, Chloe clings to Jesse.
Hayley is about to leave the hospital when Scott tentatively appears at the doorway. It’s a calm, civil conversation – the fight’s gone out of both of them. Scott addresses the issue; he loves her. Hayley loves him too…but it’s obviously not enough. Fact is, she’s having Kim’s baby, and as long as that’s the case, it’s not going to work between them – a sad goodbye.
Josie’s packs some things in preparation to leave, when she stumbles across a folder labelled “Paternity Results – Hayley Lawson”. Bemused, she opens it and reads. Josie’s stunned as she reads the truth… Scott is the father of the baby…
