Hayley faces the toughest decision of her life. Chloe makes a shocking return to the Bay. Fearing she’s losing him to Matilda, Cassie makes a stunning proposal to Ric.
Extended Summary
The thought of losing his baby is becoming too much for Kim, but right now, Hyde tells him that Hayley needs him to be strong. Meanwhile, Irene tries to get Hayley to open up, without success.
There’s much bustle in the Beach House. Martha’s around to ask Robbie and Tasha for help organizing Alf’s 60th. Tasha answers the door to Chloe, as Irene comes down the stairs barking orders at people as she passes. It’s only then that she sees Chloe. Oh love! She moves to her and they embrace, both so happy to see the other.
Kim doesn’t want Hayley feeling guilty – the most important thing is that they get her the procedure she needs to save her life. Finally, Hayley speaks – she’s not having the abortion. Flynn tries to make Hayley understand the implications of going through with the pregnancy, but no matter how much they protest, Hayley is adamant – she’s keeping her child.
The kids are planning for the party. Matilda’s silent, wanting to be anywhere else. Ric keeps stealing looks to her but Matilda doesn’t once look up at him. Cassie’s increasingly feeling like she could lose him.
Sally has just brought Chloe in to the Diner, where she’s been re-united with Alf and Colleen, who are both pleased to see her. She mentions Alf’s birthday (it was a slip). Alf wonders how she knew about that. Chloe realises she’s put her foot in it. Chloe’s mobile rings, she recognises the caller ID (Troy), and hangs up on the person.
Kim tries to talk Hayley around (she can have other babies), but Hayley explains why she’s made her decision. She points out that parents say all the time that they’d die for their kids, why should it be different now just because the baby hasn’t been born?
Cassie’s worried about the Ric / Matilda situation. Henry sees her and comments. Without telling Henry her exact concern (ie. Matilda) Cassie just says she feels like Ric is being distant, slipping away from her. Henry’s advice is that Cassie should take the bull by the horns and remind Ric how good things can be between them…
Irene and Hyde are back with Hayley and Kim, double checking that Hayley’s sure? She is – and she really wants their support. Despite the misgivings they all have, they tell Hayley they will stand by her no matter what.
Dinner is being prepared in the Beach House as Chloe and Irene reminisce about old times. Laughter all around, as a mobile beeps. Barry picks up Chloe’s mobile and carries it across to Chloe as she notes a text has been received from someone called Troy. Irene teases – a boyfriend, perhaps? Chloe is quick to take the phone from Barry, teasing Irene in return for having a one track mind. The dinner’s ready. Chloe hangs behind to read the message – “I will find you”. Chloe struggles to hold it together, fear on her face.
Cassie puts her arms around him, telling him that they have the house to themselves tomorrow and she thinks it’s time they took their relationship to the next level! Ric is left stunned!
