Extended Summary

Tane follows Kaia away from the house. Kaia feels that Perri hates her but Tane points out that he’s got a lot to deal with and suggests she wait around. Kaia agrees to stay in town and leaves. Harper, who has also followed them out, asks Tane if he needs her to stick around but he tells her to leave it to him. Shortly after, inside the house, Tane is putting the box of keepsakes away as Perri comes back in. Tane tells him he’s told Kaia to stay in town but Perri isn’t interested. He checks he still has a job at the gym before heading there.

Tim follows Levi into the farm house, asking if Abigail’s there. When Levi says she isn’t, Tim says he understands Levi’s concern. Levi punches him, saying concern doesn’t cover it. Meanwhile, Eden runs into Cash outside the surf club and notes she heard the rumours he had stayed. Cash explains he’s doing the station coffee run. Abigail appears and tells Eden she’s offended at being ignored and asks what she thought of the letter. Eden quips that she didn’t know Abigail could use an apostrophe before suggesting they have lunch together.

At the police station, Rose asks if Cash has done the report on a break and enter. Cash says he’s doing it now and apologises for it being late. Rose notes that he’s supposed to be on a break so tells him to send her what he’s done and she’ll finish it. At the farm house, Levi gives Tim some ice for his lip before saying what he’s doing is wrong. Tim acknowledges it’s a grey area but says that while he might be crossing a line, so is Levi. He says he hoped they could talk it over but that’s obviously not going to happen, and leaves. Levi grabs the discarded ice for his hand.

At Salt, Eden admits to Abigail that she should have given her more consideration. Abigail says she didn’t mean to make her feel bad but Tim told her to be honest. Eden says that she hates that they were fighting and wants to put it behind them. She convinces her to stay for coffee. She gets a call from Tim but, without saying who it’s from, tells Abby they can wait.

Tim is in his car outside the Lyrik house. He leaves Eden a message saying he’ll come and look for her at work. However, the car fails to start. Cash comes over and Tim notes the battery’s been on its last legs for a while. Cash goes to get some jumper leads.

Theo approaches Abigail at the bar in Salt, wondering if she’s ready for another round of pool and claiming he let her win. Abigail explains she’s with Eden and they agree to do it later. She goes back to Eden and suggests Eden write her a letter. Tim turns up and Abigail notices his cut lip before getting him to sit with them. He says he was just in the area. Abigail heads off to work, telling Eden to buy Tim a coffee. Tim tells Eden it was her brother.

Downstairs, Kirby checks with Abigail that Mali is down on the beach. Theo comes over and exchanges a few words with Abby. He then bumps into Perri, who tells him about Kaia being in town and how Carl lied about her being dead. Levi also appears and checks on Abigail.

Eden and Tim are discussing what happened when Levi turns up and asks if Abigail knows they’re there. Eden protests that she was just with them. Levi dares her to tell Abby what’s going on. When Eden hesitates, Levi notes the idea scares her and tells her to think about why that is. Downstairs, Perri chats to Theo about Kaia. Perri thinks Kaia shouldn’t have left. Theo advises him not to shut the door on her forever. Perri heads off to work and Theo asks Kirby if Abby’s around. Kirby says she’s running a lesson list to Mali and gives a knowing look.

Rose looks around the police station and asks another officer if Cash is back from his break. In fact, he’s at home, talking with Tane about what’s happening with Perri. He gets a call from Rose and apologises about losing track of time. Rose says she’s going to Beach Road to set up. Cash is surprised that she isn’t more angry with him.

Eden and Tim head on to the balcony at Salt. Tim thinks people are bound to have strong opinions at first but Eden thinks Levi is right and Abigail’s going to get hurt. She doesn’t want to sacrifice the progress they’ve made and so thinks she and Tim need to end things. Meanwhile, Cash arrives late where Rose and other officers are setting out cones. He is surprised that Rose is so relaxed about it, noting Sarge would be tearing his head off. He offers to cover while she goes on her break, then awkwardly realises he’s making decisions. Rose decides to go anyway.

Perri arrives home and tells Tane he couldn’t concentrate at work. He admits he doesn’t want Kaia to go back to New Zealand and never come back but doesn’t want to see her just now. With his agreement, Tane makes a call to Kaia, asking her to give Perri some time and space, and she agrees. At the surf club, Theo stops Abigail when she comes back and suggests they go for a surf some time. Abigail tells him she doesn’t actually surf. She gets a text from Tim asking to meet and asks Kirby to keep an eye on things until Mali gets back. Kirby agrees. After Abigail has gone, Kirby suggests Theo likes her, noting he used to give her those puppy dog eyes.

Abigail meets Tim by the beach and wonders if he was hoping to bring their appointment forward, since she was hoping to talk about Eden. Tim says he can’t work with her anymore and will give her a list of replacements. Abigail begs him not to but he says that he has too many patients on his books and she was the last one in.

At the Lyrik house, Eden bemoans not just hooking up with a random but Kirby thinks that’s not Eden’s thing anymore and she really liked Tim. She suggests tequila but Eden feels that a hangover won’t help and excuses herself. Rose turns up and also turns down a drink since she’s on a break from work. She admits she’s been struggling since Cash came back.

Abigail arrives home upset and tells Levi about Tim saying he can’t be her counsellor anymore. Levi offers to find someone else but Abigail says she doesn’t want anyone else.
