Extended Summary

Levi leaves the surf club and runs into Remi who asks him how things are going with Abigail and Eden. Levi notes that he couldn’t have done it without Eden. Xander approaches and Levi asks if he’s working in Salt, saying to brace himself. Upstairs, Mackenzie gets frustrated that Cash is insisting on stocking the cabinets, telling him to put the new bottles at the back so they’re not serving warm wine. Cash suggests simply putting the cold wine on the left. Xander and Remi come up as Mackenzie gets a text from Tane about moving out. She gives up and decides to leave. Xander isn’t keen on being left to handle Cash. After initially snapping at him, Mackenzie quietly asks him to handle it. Cash is convinced to have a pizza with Remi rather than paying Xander to stand around watching Cash do his job.

Levi arrives back at the motel with a takeaway from the Diner. He tries to cover when Eden asks why he wasn’t with Mackenzie before admitting she’s not a fan of what’s going on. Abigail joins them from the bathroom and starts eating. She and Levi encourage Eden to take a break and she agrees to head home for a change of clothes and a shower. Mackenzie rings Levi from the surf club and apologises for pushing him away. She wonders if he’s coming home. He says he can’t and they agree to see each other tomorrow. Mackenzie tells him not to lie to her again.

Eden pulls up outside the house just as Remi and Cash come down the path. Remi comments on her using Levi’s car. She tries to make conversation with Cash but he quickly heads off, saying the pizza will get cold. Eden comments that she thought he’d be ready to talk by now. Remi follows Cash across the road and notices Tane’s guitar. Cash says he and Perri are moving back in, saying Tane was there first and he’ll be focusing on Salt anyway. He says Mac will just have to get on board with him being part of it. Remi tries to bring up the subject of Eden but Cash says if he’s going to talk about her he can leave.

Levi comments on how much Abigail ate. She jokes about him wanting to throw her in hospital, before pushing her bowl aside and going for a shower. Eden comes back and comments on the first person she saw after being at the motel for days. Next morning, Mackenzie is woken by a knock on the door from Xander. He thinks it’s about 7.00 but it’s closer to 6.00. He admits that he couldn’t sleep and asks to come in.

Abigail and Eden are stirring in bed, with Levi having slept in a chair nearby. Abigail says it reminds her of when they went on holiday but their dad forgot to book anywhere to stay so they had to sleep in the station waggon. Levi says at least they had a car to sleep in while he had a fold-up chair and a jacket. Abigail thanks them for coming to get her but is eager to get out of the motel.

Back at the farm house, Xander has proposed to Mackenzie that he buys Felicity’s share, and wants to make sure she’s on board before he goes to Cash. He explains he has an inheritance from his father and the compensation money he got from the ambulance service. Mackenzie asks him to give her time to think. Xander calls her “partner” as he leaves, then acknowledges it’s too soon.

Remi is playing the guitar in the garden as Eden, Levi and Abigail exit the house. Abigail is chatting about sharing Eden’s room but comes up short when she sees Remi, noting she forgot he lived there. Neither of them like the idea of living together, although Abby also says that Eden doesn’t need Remi and Kirby’s permission to have her stay. Cash turns up with a box and ignores all attempts at conversation, saying he found some of Eden’s things while making room for Tane and Perri. He hands her the box, saying he’ll leave anything else of hers on the front doorstep. Abigail is confused about them breaking up.

Levi follows Cash out onto the street and tells him he can’t treat Eden like that. Cash retorts that Levi always argues with Eden and was separated from her for ten years, adding that Levi had the opportunity to make up with his sister and he doesn’t.

Mackenzie runs into Xander outside the surf club after chatting to Levi on the phone. Xander wonders if she’s had a chance to think about it and suggests putting on an event at Salt, reminding him Felicity wanted to make them regular. Mackenzie points out it’s only been three weeks since Felicity died and Xander says he misses her too. Mackenzie says that she’d be happy to have him as her partner but doesn’t think Cash will go for it. Xander goes to see Cash, who is trying to e-mail suppliers. Xander suggests if Cash sells then he could do that, and Cash could go back to the police and they could both do what they love. Cash says it’s about protecting what mattered to Felicity and Xander would do the same for Rose.

Eden has got dressed for work. Levi tries to tell her not to go but Eden says she needs to pay the rent and turns down Levi’s offer to pay. Remi comes out as she’s leaving and Eden tries to get him and Abby to play nice. Almost as soon as she’s gone however, Abigail starts picking a fight over him making a coffee for himself and not her, before insisting she’s not living with him and walking out. Levi asks why Abigail hates Remi. Remi says she hates Kirby too and they’re not the problem.

Levi follows Abigail onto the street, asking where she’s going to go and why she hates Remi. Abigail says he took Eden from her: Levi was off living with their dad, their mum was busy with business and Eden was off with the band, leaving her on her own. Levi says he has another idea.

Levi takes Abigail back to the farm house, saying there’s room there now Tane and Perri have moved out. Abigail goes to check her room. Mackenzie comes home and Levi says he was about to call her. Mackenzie starts to talk about how he doesn’t see what she does with Abby, right before Abigail walks in, asking when they can get her things from her mum’s. Levi explains she’s moving in.

Cash arrives at Salt and goes behind the bar. He is checking through the diary and finds a note written by Felicity about the insurance being due. Eden turns up and he explains about owning half the business. Eden isn’t too happy but is determined to get on with her job, saying it’s her only income and she has every right to be there. Cash retreats into the store room, clearly struggling.
