Extended Summary
Felicity approaches Cash outside the Newman house and asks about his plans. He says he’s meeting Eden for lunch and might go for a run first, adding that he won’t invite Felicity to come with him. The report from the security company is due in later in the day. She tells him no-one blames him and he replies that Remi does. He gets a text from Stevie’s driver about the funeral but says he’s not going.
Across the road at the Lyrik house, Eden comments on Remi being up before 10am. Remi says it’s a new him. Eden says she liked the old him and so does Bree. She also suggests working out how they’ll pay next month’s rent. Theo turns up and Remi says they’re going to the gym as part of his self-improvement. Theo is going because Remi promised him lunch.
At the hospital, Dana involves John in a game of charades. He thinks she is miming “angry monster” and she eventually says it is “lion”. John is feeling hot and thanks Dana for taking his mind off it. Both feel bad about opening the container. Nearby, Irene turns up looking fot the pair but Bree tells her they’re in isolation. Roo then wheels in Marilyn, who has stomach cramps and blurred vision. Bree sends her off with a nurse. Roo says she didn’t go near the container. Bree sits both Irene and Roo down with masks.
At the gym, Remi is weightlifting and Theo admits he doesn’t know if Remi’s doing it right or not. Both of them have heard about the funeral and Remi is intending to go. Theo wonders if he’s spoken to Bree. Remi says she’s keen to get back together. Theo is shocked that Remi said no. At the Lyrik house, Felicity finds Eden in the back garden and tells her about the report and about Cash going to the funeral. She’s unhappy that Remi has gone to the gym. Eden isn’t keen on the idea of Felicity having a go at Remi but agrees to talk to Cash.
Bree rejoins Irene and Roo with a visor and asks if Marilyn had contact with John. Roo says he came into the Diner for a coffee and touched her on the arm. Roo was right there but Irene wasn’t. Bree asks for a list of everyone who was in the Diner and worries that the infection is passed by touch or even airborne.
Eden encounters Cash on his return from his run. He tries to get her to come for a swim with him. Eden asks why he isn’t going to the funeral and he says he doesn’t want to face Stevie’s family knowing that he’s the reason she’s dead. He goes for a shower. At the gym, Remi is doing stretches as Theo continues to quiz him about Bree. Remi says Bree made some good points while they were arguing about Stevie and he wants to sort them out. Bree has said she’ll wait but he feels there’s no guarantees. Felicity turns up and blames Remi for taking his problems out on Cash. Remi laughs bitterly and walks away.
Dana continues to tend to John. Bree joins them and asks John about his contact with Marilyn. John is horrified to realise she’s in hospital too and says he’ll never forgive himself. He says it was about half an hour after he opened the container. At the Diner, Theo and Remi turn up; Remi has filled Theo in on his run-in with Cash. A customer at the next table starts gagging but dismisses it as an upset stomach. He decides to head home.
Bree is on the phone and learns the container didn’t cause the illnesses. A paramedic brings in the man from the Diner, Joseph, who was found semi-conscious outside the Diner. Roo gives Bree the list. Bree tells her and Irene they’ve got three sick people connected to the Diner (Roo recalls the woman earlier, a fourth case). Bree says the Diner’s the problem.
Not long after, a still masked Irene turns up at the Diner and tells the customers it’ll have to close because of a health issue. She hands out advice sheets on what to do if they feel unwell. Theo and Remi have nearly finished their meal. Theo wonders if Leah knows. Irene says she’s had no chance to tell but will; Roo’s being tested at the hospital and Irene was only allowed out because she hasn’t been at the Diner in days.
John expresses his gratitude about having Dana for company and continues to blame himself. Bree turns up and says there’s no toxins in the container: The Diner’s the source. Since Dana hasn’t been there in a few days, she’s in the clear. She decides to get changed into uniform and stick around. Meanwhile, Cash and Eden are lounging round the back of the Newman house. Felicity returns from work and starts paddling in the pool. Cash gets a text but tries to ignore it. Eden retrieves the phone and says it’s the security company’s report. Felicity joins them as Cash reads that the security company didn’t inform the prosecutor Stevie had rehired him so they didn’t know to contact him. He says there’ll be a few protocol modifications but it doesn’t change anything.
Eden finds Remi in the back garden. He shows her the notice from the Diner but she isn’t interested. Instead, she tells him to go and put Cash’s mind at rest. Remi says it’s not his problem but Eden says he made it his problem when he blamed Cash. Remi points out Cash still wasn’t at Stevie’s side. Eden replies that he didn’t know she was in danger and reminds him about wanting to be the best version of himself. At the Diner, Irene is on the phone to Leah as biohazard people collect samples all around her. She feels bad that it happened on her watch.
Cash is cleaning the pool and has flashbacks to Stevie telling him she feels safe, him assuring her no-one will die on his watch and her being shot. Remi turns up and finds Cash in a distressed state. Cash curtly asks what he’s doing there.
