Extended Summary

At the Diner, Maggie has given Bella and Colby some of Coco’s old uniforms. Bella asks if it’s definitely compulsory and wonders if she can delay starting school. Maggie says the first week is important. Colby asks if Maggie got hold of the extra support Bella needs, since she never made the bridging course. Maggie says wheels are in motion and they’ll know in a couple of days, adding that Bella can come to her until then. Outside, Leah comes across Tori who says Robbo wants nothing to do with her or the baby. She notes she consoled herself with the fact she’d have a baby at the end of it and instead she’s denied the child a relationship with its father. Bella and Colby come past, with Bella trying to get Colby to home school her and Colby saying he needs to go back to work at some point to pay the rent. He notices Leah comforting Tori.

Bella and Colby head up to the flat with Bella complaining about Colby being practical. Robbo is also there and Bella goes into her room to check the uniforms fit. Colby asks Robbo about seeing Tori outside. Robbo says Colby has other things to worry about. Colby notes Robbo was there for him last week and Robbo retorts that Colby didn’t want to talk either. He decides they should go to Salt and Colby calls for Bella to join them. Shortly after, Colby and Robbo are on the balcony at Salt. Robbo has filled Colby in on the engagement and the pregnancy. Colby says that Jasmine’s a good person who’s head over heels for him. Robbo says Colby has other things to worry about. Colby replies that he has perspective and tells Robbo not to make a decision in the heat of the moment.

Outside the surf club, Ryder joins John and Raffy. He asks Raffy is she’s looked at any of the memory apps he gave her. John ropes him into helping with a delivery. Mason comes along and checks Raffy’s okay with starting at school. He says her seizure might be down to stress. He takes her into the gym office and tells her about his medicinal cannabis idea. Raffy is confused about how getting high can help with epilepsy. Mason explains it doesn’t get you high but it could help with the medication side effects. She needs to be on a medical trial so he’ll look into it and get back to her.

Tori goes to see Jasmine at the beach house. Jasmine accuses Tori of being the reason her life’s ruined and thinks she isn’t there because she cares but because she feels guilty. Tori asks if there’s anything she can do to help. Jasmine gives Tori her engagement ring and says to give it to Robbo. At the Diner, Maggie is chatting to Leah about her first day back at school. Justin comes in and Maggie tells him she’s still looking at getting extra support for Raffy. Maggie leaves and Justin asks Leah if she’s seen Tori, just before Tori turns up. Justin explains Mason told him to talk to her. Leah explains about Robbo breaking up with Jasmine. Tori shows them the engagement ring and explains what Jasmine said.

Next morning, John is with Raffy and Ryder outside the surf club, checking Raffy has the lunch Marilyn made her and the new water bottle he gave her. Justin and Mason come along and Mason offers to walk Raffy to school but she says Ryder’s doing that. After the teens have gone, John says Marilyn told him about the medicinal cannabis idea. This is the first Justin’s heard of it. Mason explains but admits Tori isn’t keen. John says he and Maz will go with whatever they decide. Justin agrees to talk to Tori and arrange a proper chat. At the Diner flat, Bella has cropped her uniform into a top, which she’s wearing with a black undershirt and jeans. She tells Colby she either goes to school like that or not at all. Colby has started making her lunch, but only has an apple, giving her money for the rest. Bella notes this is new for both of them. She asks if Colby will take her to school and Colby says it’s the only way to make sure she gets there.

They walk near the beach, with Bella checking Colby will be okay and wondering if he’ll pick her up. Ryder and Raffy come along and eye up Bella’s uniform changes but say nothing. They invite her to walk with them and Bella says goodbye to Colby. As Bella and Raffy walk off chatting, Colby asks Ryder to keep an eye on her. Ryder laments having another big brother to deal with and Colby says he’s also a cop. He notices Tori sitting nearby and goes over, congratulating her. Tori notes she’s not used to getting that. Colby thinks Robbo will come round. Tori produces the engagement ring Jasmine gave her and asks him to give it to Robbo. At the gym, Robbo is searching for something. Mason asks if he can help and Robbo tells him to stop using his phone at work, not being moved when Mason says he was doing research for Raffy. Leah follows Robbo into the office and tells him it’s not Mason he’s angry with. She urges him to forgive Tori and Jasmine, saying in nine months there’ll be a baby he won’t be able to ignore.

Colby goes to see Jasmine at the beach house. He chats about Bella starting school and notes he thought Chelsea would be around for it. Jasmine says a lot of things have happened that they couldn’t predict before the wedding. Colby says he and Chelsea are set in stone but her and Robbo aren’t, adding that Robbo’s changed a lot in the past year because of her. He gives her back the ring and urges her to fight for him. Meanwhile, Raffy, Ryder and Bella arrive at school. Bella notes everyone’s looking at her but the others assure her it’s just because she’s new. Maggie comes over and comments on Bella’s uniform before giving her her iPad. Raffy and Ryder give her directions to her first class and say they’ll see her later.

Tori, Justin and Mason have met at the Diner. Mason presents them with his findings but Tori says it’s early days: Raffy’s only had one seizure while on medication, so might not qualify for a trial. Mason says it’s not just the seizures but the side effects and she could be failing Year 12 in a couple of months. He appeals to Justin, but Justin defers to Tori. Mason protests that Raffy was excited. Tori says he shouldn’t have got her hopes up. At school, Raffy texts Mason asking if he’s spoken to Tori. Bella complains to her and Ryder that the other kids are know-alls. She says she has Modern History next. Raffy gets a text reply and tells Ryder to show Bella to her next class. She looks with disappointment at the text from Mason saying Tori didn’t agree and that they’ll talk later.

Jasmine looks at the ring, paces and finally picks up her phone. At the flat, Robbo is packing a bag. He sees Jasmine’s call but rejects it. Despite this, Jasmine smiles, puts on her ring and leaves the house. Robbo leaves an envelope for Colby with a month’s rent. He takes one last look round then heads down to his ute. Jasmine sees him packing up and runs over, calling to him. Robbo apparently doesn’t notice and drives off. Jasmine runs up to the flat, calling out for Colby, and finds Robbo’s room empty. Later, Colby returns to an empty flat and finds the envelope. He looks at his wedding photos on his phone and takes his ring off. He then gets a text from McCarthy saying there’s been a development in the Ross Nixon investigation.
