Brett’s maniacal scheme reaches a stunning climax. A ghost from the past threatens Ric’s place in the Bay. Diesel’s obsession with Sally intensifies.
Extended Summary
Brett rushes frantically around the resort offices trying to destroy evidence. He races off to Josie’s house and tries to find the file she has which outlines his plan. But before he can get too far, he’s blocked by Josie. She was saved by Scott. A struggle ensues until Constable Fitzgerald arrives and arrests Brett. The town is aghast to find out that Josie was actually working for them. Colleen is devastated that she’s blown away $30,000 on a deposit for one of the apartments. Kim feels horrible about everything.
Diesel comes to see Sally. it’s his mum’s birthday and he always used to take her out for a meal. Sally offers to join him and make it a tribute to his mum. Sally gets all dressed up and they go to the Diner. Everything Sally says to Diesel makes him think she likes him. But it’s all in his head. He’s becoming obsessed.
Ric’s cleaned the whole Summer Bay House in an effort to get off his grounding charge, but Flynn says no. Ric’s at the Surf Club when Callan, a street kid he hung with in the city, comes in. From Ric’s reaction, he’s obviously trouble. Ric makes it clear he’s changed from the person he was in the city. Callan says he’s not planning on causing any trouble, he’s just here to check out the Bay and lie low for a while. When Callan goes to the toilet, Ric tells Cassie that Callan got him into some serious trouble in the city and he’s not so sure he’s changed.
Tasha forces Josie to come out to the Diner with her so she can understand how much everyone appreciates what she did. Josie apologises to Kim and Colleen for what they’ve gone through. She gets a phone call from Jesse who asks her to come to the hospital. There he apologises to her for everything.
Diesel and Sally arrive back home to find that DOCS has found him a hostel. Flynn questions how appropriate it is that Sally go out with him. Sally explains it was a tribute to his mum and Flynn understands but makes a comment that Diesel overhears and thinks Flynn’s trying to get rid of him. We get the sense that Diesel’s falling for Sally big time and Flynn better not get in the way.
Callan asks Ric for money in return for leaving. Ric has to borrow money from Alf. He covers for why he’s doing it. Callan says he is going to stay around and Ric knows that trouble is about to come his way.
