Extended Summary

Remi brings Bree an early morning cup of tea. Sonny wanders in and takes several seconds to apologise for interrupting before saying Theo might be in trouble. He explains about Lacey saying Gage might know about them and that Justin said Theo took off in his car first thing. Remi thinks they need to get the police involved.

At the coffee cart, Cash shows Alf, Irene and Marilyn the photo of Tane with Archie. Marilyn takes Alf aside and asks about Eliza. Alf says she’s a handful but Roo has stopped arguing about disciplining her and he hopes Marilyn can come home soon. Bree arrives and asks Cash if he’s seen Remi, explaining he and Sonny went to the station to talk to him.

At the station, Remi tells Sonny that Cash will be in soon. Sonny is nervous about sitting there where Gage can see but doesn’t want to talk to another cop. He says Lacey told him that Gage was off and to warn Theo to stay away, and that she seemed scared. Remi notes that Sonny is scared too and he’s never seen him that way. Sonny is on the verge of leaving when Cash turns up.

At the River Boy compound, Theo wants to leave but Gage repeats that they have things to talk about. Another River Boy, Spanner, gets in Theo’s car and slowly drives it away. Lacey quietly asks Gage not to do this and he says he likes hearing her beg. Theo says if Gage doesn’t want him to race in his own car, he only needs to give it back and he’ll never see him again. Gage says that’s not going to happen.

Cash has taken Remi and Sonny into the interview room but they’re both reluctant to talk. Cash guesses that Sonny and Theo are involved in the River Boys’ illegal street racing. He says he doesn’t have any evidence and Sonny says he doesn’t have any either. He confirms they were asked to modify cars and Remi says they’re there about Theo. Sonny confirms Gage is running the operation and Remi says Theo is sleeping with his girlfriend. Sonny explains that Lacey warned him and he hasn’t been able to get hold of Theo. Cash says he’ll give Sonny his details and to let him know if either of them hear of anything. He explains about the tracker he put on Gage’s car.

Near the beach, Remi and Sonny fill in Bree. Sonny isn’t sure if he’ll be charged with anything. Remi suggests Theo might have just gone into work early. They see Justin approaching and ask him if he knows where Theo is but are evasive as to why they want to know, making a quick exit. Justin rings Theo and leaves him a message.

At the station, Cash rings someone wanting to know where the car is. Justin turns up, wanting to know how the investigation’s going. Cash says it’s an ongoing investigation but they’re running surveillance on the River Boys and an informant’s come forward. Justin asks if it’s Theo and Cash says it’s confidential. Justin explains he can’t get hold of him. Cash thinks it will be wrapped up soon. After Justin has gone, Cash opens an envelope addressed to him and finds the tracker inside.

At the Diner, Marilyn rambles to Irene about the baby, saying she’s not sure who he looks like. John chimes in that all babies look like Winston Churchill. Marilyn drops heavy hints about what a shame it is that she’s working and can’t visit the baby. John tells Irene to put her out of her misery and let her go. Irene relents, before telling John that she’s looking forward to Harper bringing Archie home. John thinks she might change her mind when she gets woken up at two in the morning but Irene thinks it’ll be worth it.

Cash rings someone saying he has the tracker and needs to know where it’s been. He is frustrated to get put on hold. Meanwhile, Remi, Sonny and Bree arrive back at the Lyrik house. Sonny regrets having to lie to Justin all the time. Bree tries to make him some belated breakfast. Sonny says none of this would have happened if he hadn’t made a move on Bree and been desperate to make it up to Remi. He decides to go and look for Theo, despite Remi trying to convince him that Cash is on top of it.

Gage remarks to Theo that he impressed him when racing, since he had an instinct and knew where the boundaries were and that he’d crash if he crossed them. Lacey tries to convince Gage that whatever he thinks is wrong but Gage drags her inside. Theo makes to follow but Spanner stops him, refusing to return his car and saying Gage always wins.

Inside, where Theo’s car is up on a ramp, Lacey tries to convince Gage that he’s given Theo a scare and can just let him go. Gage realises she cares about him and says he saw them in Theo’s car. The other River Boys escort Theo inside and Gage tells Lacey to sit and watch. The River Boys restrain Theo and tie ropes around his wrists. Spanner nervously checks Gage wants to do this and Gage asks if he wants to join Theo under there. Lacey surreptitiously pings off a text.

Sonny is leaving the surf club when he gets the text from Lacey saying “Come now”, with a pin in a map. At the police station, Cash shows the other officers a list of locations and says they need to know which addresses have River Boy affiliations. His phone sits on his desk, a call from Sonny unnoticed. Sonny leaves a message saying Lacey’s sent an SOS, Theo is in trouble, he’s on his way and to call him back. He dashes past John as he says this.

Marilyn returns to the Diner and she and Irene gush over Archie. Marilyn admits it made her think: Eliza must have been like that once and wasn’t born bad. Irene says that’s what Roo’s been trying to say. John turns up and asks Justin what’s going on with Theo, telling him what he heard Sonny say. Justin goes round to see Remi and Bree, demanding to know what’s going on. Remi admits Theo’s involved with the River Boys. Justin insists it’s all on Sonny, despite Remi trying to defend him. Bree tries to suggest the police should handle it but Justin says Remi should have given him a heads-up and anything that happens to Theo is on him.

Theo is now lying tied up under the ramp while Gage is sitting next to the car, using the control to slowly lower it. Theo and Lacey try and get him to stop and Gage gets Theo to apologise. Sonny turns up outside and calls out. Theo calls out as well and Sonny races inside. Spanner blocks his way and Sonny manages to get a punch in but is grabbed by two other River Boys and dragged outside where Spanner punches him in the stomach. Lacey kneels by Theo and apologises to him. Gage restrains her, brings the ramp down on Theo and smashes the control. At the police station, an officer tells Cash that there’s no River Boy connections or abandoned buildings in the area indicated. Cash tells him to check again, then listens to Sonny’s message and attempts to phone him back.

Sonny is lying on the ground, the phone ringing next to him. Gage and the River Boys pile out of the building into their vehicles, Gage dragging Lacey with him. She tries to call out to Sonny, asking if she’s okay, as she’s driven off. Sonny gets up and staggers inside, leaving his phone behind. He finds Theo unconscious and is unable to raise the ramp. He tries to go and look for his phone and collapses in pain just inside the door.
