Extended Summary

Remi and Bree are near the beach. Remi is worried about not having heard from Sonny and thinks Justin was right to blame him for not letting him know what was going on. Bree gets a text calling her into work. She notices Eden approaching and asks her to keep an eye on Remi. Eden shows him that she isn’t wearing the engagement ring anymore and accuses him of getting her into trouble with Cash before relenting. However, Remi is too distracted to be paying attention.

Bree arrives at the hospital and finds the patient is Theo, with Dana among those tending to him. The paramedics says his GCS is 12 and he has a crush injury to the chest with muffled heart sounds but no sign of head injury. Bree says to page Levi and checks on a nearby Sonny. Cash arrives and Sonny demands to know where he was. Bree and Dana usher them both away with Cash going to call Leah and Justin.

At the Diner, Justin is telling Leah about how John overheard something and Remi told him the whole story. He is annoyed Theo lied to him about the stolen car parts while Leah is frustrated at him getting involved in street racing. Justin says Sonny has been egging him on. Leah gets the call from Cash. At the hospital, Bree tells Levi that Theo was found trapped under a car. Levi does a scan and finds fluid in the pericardium that they need to drain. Bree tells Dana to set up for a pericardiocentesis.

Nearby, Cash rejoins Sonny, who reminds him he said Theo would be safe. Cash admits the tracking device turned up at the police station and Gage must have found it. He asks Sonny to help him find the guys who did it. Sonny says Gage must have worked out Theo and Lacey were sleeping together: He got there to find Theo’s car up on a hoist, him tied up underneath it and Gage holding the remote. However, they took him out and walloped him before anything happened. He says one of the guys that walloped him was called Spanner.

At the River Boys’ garage, Lacey says they should have called an ambulance and asks Gage to let her do it with a burner phone. Gage says this is her fault for cheating on him. Spanner says Sonny will go to the police once he comes round and Gage should have let him finish him off. Gage says the police are going to be there and they need to get their story straight. At the hospital, Levi, Bree and Dana use a syringe to drain 10ml of blood from around Theo’s heart. Leah and Justin turn up and are told to wait outside.

On the balcony at Salt, Remi has filled Eden in on Theo and Sonny’s involvement with the River Boys. Eden thinks Cash will sort it out. Remi asks what’s going on with them and Eden says they’re engaged to be engaged: One day he’ll ask her to marry him and it’ll be a surprise. Remi thinks they should just get engaged but Eden tells him to get on board. He gets a call from Bree and his mood becomes sombre as he asks how bad it is. He tells Eden that Theo’s in hospital.

Levi tells Bree to have Theo on hourly observation while he goes to talk to Leah and Justin. He tells them Theo was trapped under a car but they’ll have to ask the police the details. He explains they had to drain the fluid to get his heart beat back to normal. There is still a risk of infection and if the fluid builds up again he’ll need emergency surgery.

Elsewhere, Dana is treating Sonny, who wants to go and see Theo in ICU and asks about his chances. Dana says he’s getting the best possible care which Sonny takes to mean he needs a miracle. Dana says she hasn’t given up yet. Remi and Eden turn up. Remi regrets letting Sonny go off on his own. Sonny says he thought he could charge in and save Theo, explaining about finding him crushed under a car. He confirms he’s spoken to Cash and Eden goes to call him.

A squad of police cars turn up at the River Boy garage. Cash sees the call from Eden but doesn’t answer. Gage, Lacey, Spanner and the others come out. When Cash mentions Theo, Gage says he’s not there and he was fine last time they saw him, claiming he was doing some work at a mate’s garage. Cash asks which one of them is Spanner but they deny knowing anyone of that name. Lacey asks if Theo’s okay, saying Cash wouldn’t be there if he wasn’t, and Cash says he’s in hospital. He tells Gage they’re not done.

Levi tells Justin and Leah there’s no change at the moment. Remi turns up and Bree tells him it’s family only. Justin sees him and comes out, saying Remi’s the second last person he wants to see at the moment and blaming Sonny. Remi says this happened because Theo was sleeping with a River Boy’s girlfriend and that’s not on Sonny. Justin says that’s another thing Remi didn’t tell him. Theo starts to arrest and Bree and Levi swing into action.

Cash checks over Spanner’s ID, which gives his name as Edmund. He claims not to know anything. Cash notices Gage and Lacey chatting and Gage says they’re just working out how to help. Cash says he heard Theo was close to Lacey and wants her to come down the station for an informal chat. Gage tries to object; Lacey says she’ll come but has nothing to add. Gage insists on coming too and Cash tells officers to bring him and Spanner.

Dana is checking over Sonny as Remi and Eden look on. Sonny keeps wanting to get away to check on Theo. Dana says if he lets her examine him, she’ll call Bree and ask what’s going on. Meanwhile, Levi is rushing Theo up to theatre as Bree tells Justin and Leah that something is causing the fluid to start building up and hopefully the surgery will fix it. Leah says someone needs to pay.

Bree goes down to update Remi, Eden and Sonny. Sonny again tries to staggers out of the room. Justin arrives and stops him but Sonny collapses in pain. Bree and Dana find severe bruising on his stomach. Later, Sonny defends Justin to Dana, saying he had it coming. Bree says he needs to go for a CT scan, since he might be bleeding from his liver, kidneys or spleen.

Cash brings Gage, Lacey and Sonny into the station and suggests he talks to Lacey first. Gage wants him to talk to them all at once, but Cash says it’s not going to work that way. He asks if they want to help him find out what happened to Theo. Gage says it sounds like an accident. Cash says he didn’t mention an accident but suggests he talk to Gage first, showing him through.
