Extended Summary

Harper has just finished a training session with Tane near the beach. He thanks her for dropping the talk about the court case. Harper suggests they get something to eat together. At the farm house, Levi asks Mackenziev if something happened while she was out. Mackenzie says she’s just been reminded that things have been moving fast and she’s not sure whether he’s moved in or not. She suggests they talk about it later, even though Levi wants to resolve it now.

Justin turns up at the Diner and asks to speak to Leah (Alf and Marilyn are also present). He shows her a photo he took of Theo’s letter. Meanwhile, Harper arrives to meet Tane at Salt. Tane suggests getting things in place for her new trainer. Harper insists she doesn’t need one. Felicity joins them and Harper says she asked her to. Felicity says they’re not going to let him throw his life away. Tane calls it an ambush. Harper calls it two friends showing they care.

Mackenzie emerges from her room to find Levi waiting in the hallway. He wonders if she or Tane and Mali object to him being there. Mackenzie says this is a bigger conversation than they can have right now and they’ll talk when she gets home. Meanwhile, Leah and Justin arrive back at the garage. Justin tells Theo he read the letter and wasn’t snooping, although Theo says it sounds like he was. Theo says they weren’t meant to read it yet and he has things to say to them but doesn’t know how. They encourage him to talk to them now.

Felicity tries to get Tane to talk to his lawyer. Tane says he did the wrong thing and there’s only one outcome. Harper says he can get the best result. Felicity asks what Ari would think about this or if he’s even told Nikau, saying family’s meant to mean a lot to him. Tane snaps at her to stay out of it, saying they’re not family, together or anything. Felicity walks away, upset, and Harper asks if that was really necessary.

Shortly after, Harper follows Felicity onto the balcony. Felicity says that she thought appealing to his sense of family would get through to Tane. Harper says Felicity needs to back off: It’s obvious things are still too raw between her and Tane, so he’s not going to listen to her. Harper promises to keep trying and Felicity tells her to make sure Tane sees his lawyer.

Mackenzie goes to see Tane at the gym and asks if he minds Levi living with them. Tane says it doesn’t bother him since he’s not going to be there much longer. Mackenzie apologises, saying Tane has actual real problems, before noting it seems to have happened quickly. Tane advises her to speak to Levi. At the garage, Theo says he feels like he keeps letting Leah and Justin down and he can’t shake it off. He says he nearly split them up, then his dad put Justin in hospital. Leah says he’s not to blame for what Dimitri did. Theo says he ruined their honeymoon and stole money from them to buy drugs, and has no idea why they put up with him.

Harper arrives at the Diner and meets Tane’s lawyer Marshall, who she called to come there. She admits that Tane’s not coming and doesn’t know he’s there. Marshall says he rearranged the day to come there and he can’t discuss the case with Harper. Harper asks him to stick around a couple of hours while she talks Tane round. Marshall asks if there’s anywhere he can get a drink.

At the farm house, Levi is finishing a call about a patient. Mackenzie arrives home and says she’d normally wait a longer time before moving in together, but every time Levi says he wants to move out she realises she doesn’t want that. She says her head tells her he should but if she’d listened to that then they’d never be together.

Leah and Justin approach Theo where he’s working and tell him not to think like that: Having him in their lives has made things better and he’s family. Justin suggests they go home so he can beat Theo on the Playstation. Theo replies that Justin’s never beaten him. Meanwhile, Marshall is drinking at Salt and tries to get Felicity to join him, saying he can square it with her boss. Felicity says she is the boss. Mackenzie and Levi turn up and chat about going on a date in public. Felicity gives them a sarcastic slow clap and Mackenzie tells her to grow up before heading out onto the balcony with Levi. Felicity drains Marshall’s drink, saying she will join him.

Harper finds Tane indulging himself with a punchbag at the gym. She tells him about Marshall being in town and says she cares what happens to him and so do his family. Tane agrees to a meeting but says not until tomorrow. Up in Salt, Marshall gets a text and tells Felicity his plans for the evening have changed. He asks about the couple from before and Felicity tells him that the woman’s her business partner and the man’s married to someone else.

At the farm house, Tane sits on his own. He calls Nikau and says there’s something they need to talk about. Meanwhile, Felicity and Marshall are kissing in the doorway to her place. They go to her bedroom where they undress and end up on the bed. Felicity pauses for a moment and Marshall asks if she’s good before they resume.
