Extended Summary

At the coffee cart, Marilyn gushes to Rose about all the film people being there and how it’s only a skeleton crew with more arriving later. As Rose leaves, Eden and Kirby approach; Kirby is trying to get Eden to take her mind off Levi and says normally she’d tell her to concentrate on band stuff. They hope coffee will be a good distraction…until Marilyn announces she just ran out of milk.

At the Diner, Irene is on the phone, reluctantly agreeing to do a takeaway delivery just this once. Eden and Kirby arrive; Kirby has volunteered to take some milk to the coffee cart and also offers to help out, which Eden notes must mean she’s really bored. Irene says Eden must be glad that Levi’s moved to town, saying he told her he was living with Mackenzie and thinking it’s romantic that they got together after he saved her life. Eden retorts there’s one detail Levi obviously didn’t tell Irene: He’s married.

Felicity and Marshall are in bed, with Felicity admitting it’s a long time since she brought a stranger home. Marshall tries to argue that they’re not strangers but Felicity points out they still know nothing about each other. He gets an alert on his phone and says he has a meeting. Felicity realises she never asked what he did for a living. Marshall asks to use the shower. As he heads over there, he passes Eden, who quickly asks Felicity for details.

At the surf club, Harper leaves a message for Tane, checking he’s going to come. Nearby, Roo tells Alf that John wants extra patrols while the film crew are there. Alf asks if Roo doesn’t have fostering stuff to deal with. Roo says she’s done the first-aid course and hired a tradie to childproof the house, and the meetings are at night. Alf says to leave him out of it. Tane turns up and tells Harper about speaking to Nikau last night, before wondering where his lawyer is.

Justin lets Leah into the garage. She is keen to get a desk assembled while Theo’s at TAFE. Justin thinks it’ll only take a half hour to set up but agrees Thoe needs a workspace now he’s nearly finished at TAFE and says a small gesture can have a big impact. Some time later, Justin is getting a bit frustrated over how long the desk is taking to make. Leah suggests he’s using the wrong screwdriver. Justin retorts that he doesn’t tell her how to make moussaka and Leah replies she doesn’t need instructions to make moussaka. Justin insists he doesn’t need any either and gets her to throw them away. Leah asks about the extra bag of screws and they both accept they need the instructions after all.

Felicity talks to Eden about meeting Marshall. Eden asks for marks out of ten. Marshall comes in behind her and says he’s never rated less than 8.5 on a bad day. He asks Felicity for her number but she thinks they should leave it as a one-off, which she accepts. At the surf club, Tane complains about how late Marshall is. Rose briefly chats to him and Harper and reminds him his check-in’s at 1pm. Marshall turns up, saying he had trouble parking his car. Harper explains about the film crew. Marshall checks Tane isn’t going to waste his time, saying Tane can’t be one of the obstacles they’re facing.

Tane, Harper and Marshall go up to Salt. Tane thinks he’s facing jail time and Marshall says it’s likely. He suggests they don’t deny what Tane did and focus on the circumstances: Tane found the baby, rescued her, cared for her at the hospital and didn’t mean malice. He suggests a defamation suit against the journalist who went after Tane but Tane declines. Harper says even Poppy’s mother doesn’t want Tane locked up and Marshall suggests getting her to testify, asking for her number. Felicity and Eden come in, chatting about Felicity’s run-in with Mackenzie, but quickly hasten their pace when they see Tane and Marshall together, with Felicity recalling Marshall saying he had a meeting. Tane comes over to order coffees and apologise for what he said to Felicity yesterday. Eden asks about Marshall and Tane explains he’s his lawyer.

At the Diner, Irene asks Kirby to take some takeaway lunches to the film crew, who are on the beach somewhere looking at locations. Alf and Roo come in with Alf complaining about the film crew taking over. Kirby says creatives are drawn to beautiful things. Roo thinks it’ll be good for the economy, while Irene says it’ll be better when they start queuing up. Roo points to the money they gave the surf club, which Alf calls a bribe.

Leah and Justin have set the desk up with Justin noting soon it’ll be covered in grease and grime and the plant will be dead. They discuss the likelihood of Theo being able to handle his last exam. Justin suggests they go home and “make up properly”. Leah isn’t even sure they argued but Justin thinks throwing out the instruction manual counts. However, Leah then gets a text from Irene saying they need her at the Diner.

Marshall is on the balcony at Salt, having a phone conversation with Sonia and asking her to tell the court she has no ill will towards Tane. Felicity comes out and tells Marshall he needs to leave. Marshall asks if she doesn’t want her one-night stand in the restaurant. Tane, who has come out unnoticed, says Felicity’s uncomfortable because he’s her ex-husband. He storms out, despite Felicity’s pleas. Marshall admits to Harper that the case has got more complicated but says Sonia wants her to call. Felicity laments to Eden about the universe doing this to her.

At the Diner, Rose wonders if Kirby’s working there again and she calls it a one-off. Irene and Marilyn says she’ll be welcome any time. Leah and Justin turn up and Irene and Marilyn explain about being busy because of the film crew. Irene says she has to go to the city for her annual check-up and wonders if she should but Leah assures her they can manage. Justin asks Kirby about managing without Lyrik. Kirby says it’s more important that Theo’s back on track.

Kirby heads home and calls out to Eden, who says she spent the day with Felicity, whose issues made her forget her own for a moment. Kirby mentions Eden snapping at Irene. Eden regrets that but says Mackenzie and Levi aren’t some great love story yet aren’t ashamed at all. Meanwhile, Roo brings Alf a cup of tea at the office and asks why he’s down on the film crew. Alf says he’s on edge because the beach is supposed to be for everyone and he’s not sure the film crew have good intentions.

Felicity is in the gym looking for Tane when he finally shows up. Felicity tries to get him to concentrate on his court case. Tane thinks sleeping with Marshall is about trying to get back into his life and Felicity retorts that she was trying to move on. As they talk, Tane’s phone lights up, unnoticed, with a call from Rose. Felicity suggests Tane just doesn’t like her being with someone else and he tells her to get out. After she’s gone, he notices the missed calls from Rose and the fact it’s 3:15 and rushes out.

Marshall finds Felicity by the beach and tells her what happened isn’t her fault and shouldn’t affect Tane, although it might look bad for Marshall professionally if it comes out. He says Tane’s the issue and he’ll be fine if he plays it smart. At that moment, Tane rushes into the police station and apologises to Rose, who says he’s breached his bail conditons. Tane says things got complicated with his lawyer. Rose asks why she shouldn’t arrest him.
