Extended Summary

At the motel, Bree is fretting about the fact no other rooms have become available. Jacob tries to reassure her and suggests Jacob is probably in WA but Bree can’t relax until the police have found him. Bree’s phone rings; Jacob checks it and says it’s the hospital. Bree answers and says she’s still not feeling well and will let them know when she’s feeling better. She laments to Remi about being in limbo.

Xander and Stacey are watching a zombie movie. Stacey notes that she’s decided she hates horror movies and the two of them wrestle playfully. Rose comes in from her room as Xander asks Stacey if she wants to check out the wine bar in Yabbie Creek at the weekend. Stacey says she’s busy then but suggests they go another time.

Down in the Diner, Irene finds Marilyn pondering the identity of the anonymous donor. She thinks it must be a local, since they knew the exact amount and she doesn’t think that’s a coincidence. Alf quips that Marilyn believes in tarot cards. Irene comments to Rose on Xander looking happy earlier and checks things are still on track with Stacey. Rose says they’re on track heading towards the edge of a cliff.

Bree emerges from the bathroom having got changed and tells Remi she’s going for a surf. She speculates that Jacob could be in a casino before, more seriously, saying they might never find him and if she doesn’t get her life back then Jacob wins.

Marilyn tries to ask Rose’s advice on identifying an anonymous donor but Rose suggests letting them stay anonymous. Rose asks Irene’s opinion on Xander. Irene agrees that Stacey’s probably playing the field but suggests just letting it runs its course. Rose heads upstairs and Xander tells her Stacey’s gone home to get changed, before telling her to stop meddling in his relationship. Rose says Xander always ignores red flags and she’s left to pick up the pieces. She insists Stacey is lying to him.

Bree heads down to the beach with her board. After initially seeming uncertain, she ends up smiling as she runs out. Remi watches her from the shore, constantly looking around. Back at the flat, Rose shows Xander the Smouldr profile. Xander suggests she isn’t using it. Rose claims Stacey was flirting with a client and is being evasive about her texts and making plans. Stacey arrives and checks Xander’s ready. She picks up on the tension but Xander ends up leaving with her.

At the surf club, Remi fiddles restlessly with a pool ball until Bree appears from getting changed. Remi suggests she still needs to keep her guard up but Bree says she needs to move on with her life and announces she’s decided to file for divorce. They head to the Diner where Bree orders a takeaway lasagne from Marilyn. Irene notes she hasn’t seen her in a while and wonders if she’s been away with Jacob. Bree says she’s getting divorced. Irene says she’s there if Bree needs to talk. Nodding to Remi, she notes Bree’s already surrounding herself with good people.

At the surf club, Stacey finishes off a phone call, saying she’s looking forward to something, before rejoining Xander and not giving a straight answer when he asks who it was. They head up to Salt where Xander again references the place in Yabbie Creek. Stacey reiterates she’s busy but suggests going the following weekend. Xander attempts to subtly quiz her about what she’s been doing. Stacey heads to the ladies’, just as her phone vibrates with an alert. Xander can’t resist taking a look and sees she’s just got a message on Smouldr, just as Stacey comes back and catches him.

Remi and Bree return to the motel, where Bree finds a note pushed under the door saying there’s another room available. She decides to eat first. Remi asks about telling people about the divorce and Bree says she doesn’t want to hide anymore. She says she doesn’t want to eat in the room, she wants to be normal and go out to a restaurant with him. She asks him to come on a date with her.

Stacey tells Xander she simply didn’t delete the account and offers to let him see when she was last active or DMed anyone, saying she’ll have trust issues now. She asks what else Rose said. Xander mentions her suspicions about what Stacey’s doing at the weekend. Stacey says she’s booked a surprise weekend away for them and it was the hotel manager she was on the phone to. Xander apologises as Stacey deletes the Smouldr account.

At the Diner, Irene asks Rose if she spoke to Xander. Rose isn’t sure she got through to him. Marilyn tells Alf and Irene she spoke to Roo, who’s already bought the food truck and is going to supervise the fitting. She adds that she’s decided not to find out who the donor is: She’ll just send out good intentions and hope the donor gets some. Alf hopes she does too.

Remi and Bree head to Salt where Remi comments on dating the most beautiful doctor in town. Bree says she gets to date a hot rock star. She recalls when they first came there together. Remi says she friend zoned him with a handshake and Eden gave him hell about it but he couldn’t stop thinking about her. They both wonder if the other has any regrets. Bree says only that she didn’t do this sooner.

Rose arrives back at the flat and finds Xander’s arrived back before her. She is thrown to find Stacey’s there as well. Xander tells Rose she was wrong and Stacey suggests Rose stick to catching criminals. Xander says he understands this is coming from a good place but it has to stop. Meanwhile, Remi and Bree exit the surf club. Bree calls it nice and Remi calls it perfect. They kiss and Remi suggests going back to the motel. Bree suggests a walk first. They don’t see Jacob watching them from the shadows.
