Extended Summary

Remi is busking outside the surf club and, seeing Theo and Kirby among the crowd, calls them over to join him. Stacey stops by Rose and sarcastically asks who’s watching Xander. Rose quips that Xander’s not the one that needs watching. John appears and Kirby joins Rose in intercepting him, with a combination of them trying to get him to dance and Theo drawing the crowd’s attention to him embarrassing him enough not to raise an objection. Theo points out to Kirby how Remi and Bree are looking at each other and Kirby notes they have their mystery woman.

Rose heads back to the flat and tells Xander she ran into his girlfriend. Xander says he has plans with Stacey and reveals her secretive behaviour was her booking them a weekend getaway. Rose is suspicious, suggesting that’s just a story she made up because she was caught. Xander says this is why they shouldn’t talk about her.

Kirby and Theo arrived back at the Lyrik house. Kirby is on the phone to Eden, saying it’s not breaking Remi’s trust if she’s already guessed. She ends the call and tells Theo that Remi and Bree are seeing each other. Both of them are confused, since they thought Bree was married. Kirby suggests that she’s left her husband and Theo wonders if Remi’s just really into her.

Remi and Bree go back to her new motel room. Bree says it was good to see him play for people. Remi says the band are playing at Tane and Felicity’s wedding and suggests she come along. Bree isn’t certain, since she doesn’t know them that well. She does, however, say that she’s happy and it feels like she’s coming back to life. Meanwhile, Xander finds Stacey at the surf club and suggests they get lunch. John stumbles across them kissing and wonders what the story is with them. Stacey says Xander’s her boyfriend. Xander is a bit bemused by that but, when Stacey checks that he wants to be, agrees.

Outside the Lyrik house, Kirby notices the wedding set-up going on across the road. Theo says he got a DM about their music video, which says he looks good at the lighthouse and is the best lead singer ever. He adds that the person who sent it has liked everything he’s posted. Kirby asks if he’s going to reply to her. Jacob comes up and wonders if Remi’s home. Theo says he was busking at the surf club earlier and hasn’t been home much lately. Jacob says he’ll text him.

After the others have gone, Jacob lets himself into the house through the back door. He first goes to Eden’s room before finding Remi’s, noticing the shirts and guitar. He finds a pair of earrings next to the bed. John sees him as he exits the house, asking if the cars in the street are his. Jacob thinks they’re from across the road. John asks if Jacob knows the people in the house he just came out of. Jacob says he’s a friend of Remi’s and assures John he’s not a musician. John goes to question the Paratas’ guests.

Remi and Bree are in bed in the motel room. Remi wonders about getting something to eat and also ponders going on their second official date. Bree asks him to wait a bit, talking about how she feels safe there. At Salt, Kirby gives Theo advice on how to message his fan, who she notes is called I Heart Theo. Theo doesn’t want to give her the wrong idea. Kirby says to be nice but not too nice, don’t talk about anything personal or political, and don’t flirt or be cold. Rose joins them and jovially blames Kirby for her advice. She explains Stacey’s story but isn’t sure she’s not lying. Theo calls her paranoid and Rose wonders if she should just stay out of it.

Outside the surf club, Stacey chats to Xander about their trip. John complains about stumbling upon the pair kissing again and Xander suggests they go back to his. Stacey says she’ll try and get her shift covered. Rose comes past, saying a slightly awkward hello before saying she’s going home. Stacey says she’ll go back to work, in that case. Rose protests that Xander can’t blame her for that and asks if she’s supposed to just ignore them.

Rose follows Xander, saying she didn’t attack Stacey. Xander says the damage was already done and tells her Stacey just forgot to delete the app. He says that Rose’s sceptical reaction is the reason Stacey doesn’t want to be around her. Rose promises to do better. Xander says if she doesn’t he’ll have to think about moving out.

Bree is in the motel room in her robe. She hears a knock on the door and, thinking it’s Remi, calls out that they got two keys for a reason. However, it’s Jacob at the door. He forces his way in when she tries to close the door, asking if she really thought he wouldn’t come for her. He tells her he had the police knocking on his door and throwing wild accusations about. Bree tries to remind him of the AVO but Jacob doesn’t care, accusing her of wanting to be with her boyfriend on the other side of the country from him. He says he saw Remi leave and produces the earrings, saying he got them for their third anniversary and found them next to Remi’s bed with her pass card. He demands she come away from him. Bree tries to refuse but Jacob insistently tells her to get dressed.

Rose approaches Stacey at the surf club, wanting to talk. Stacey says she has a class to take. Rose says she’ll wait for her but Stacey tells her not to waste her time. Later, Stacey is directing a class on the beach when Rose appears and insists she’s not leaving until they’ve sorted it out, even if she has to join the class. She strips off to her vest and joins the others. Stacey suggests a trainer versus client challenge. Rose agrees and the others gather round.

Theo reads Kirby the message he’s written, saying he’s glad she liked the video and to stay tuned for more. Kirby tells him not to think about it and just treat it like thanking someone for a tip. Remi comes home and Kirby teasingly asks him about Bree. Remi says her husband’s out of the picture. He packs a bag, as Theo mentions his “mate”. Realising who it is, Remi tells them to call the police if he shows up again. He dashes back to the motel and opens the door to find Jacob holding (now dressed) Bree by the hair with his hand over her mouth. He tells Remi to close the door and sit. Remi complies.
