Extended Summary

Remi and Eden walk on the beach, discussing Bob being back. They see Bree further down, having just finished a surf. Remi says she asked for space. Bree waves and Remi takes that as an invitation to come over, despite Eden trying to remind him about space. Remi comments that he hasn’t seen Bree in a couple of days. After a few awkward moments of polite chat, Bree invites Remi to join her for a coffee, saying to give her twenty minutes to get changed.

At the surf club, Theo walks away from his game with Bob. Bob calls him a quitter. Theo insists Kirby’s chosen him but Bob says he and Kirby have history and dismisses Theo as a blip. Theo leaves, passing Remi, who makes it clear he isn’t pleased to see Bob and says they were never friends. Bob picks up a flyer for Lyrik’s gig.

John greets Cash in the street and offers him company for lunch. They discuss Cash talking to Felicity about Gary. Eden passes them and she and Cash exchange awkward greetings. John notes he’s spotted Cash’s nocturnal visits as part of his neighbourhood watch and says it’s difficult living across the street from your ex. Cash denies that Eden’s his ex.

Eden heads back into the house and winds up Kirby by saying her keyboard playing is almost perfect. Kirby wants to have another rehearsal before the gig but Eden tells her Remi is otherwise engaged. Kirby wonders what’s up with Remi lately and also reveals she told Bob to leave. Meanwhile, Leah shows Justin the dress she’s going to wear to the gig. Theo comes home and Justin tells him he’s invited a music critic, Vic Vickers, and is going to give her the full VIP treatment. Theo tells them about Bob being back in town. He says he and Kirby are good but doesn’t seem too sure.

At the surf club, John shows Cash a flyer for the gig and asks if he’s going to see Eden. Cash says he’ll be there to support the band. He notices Remi and excuses himself from John, taking a raincheck on lunch. He asks Remi about the note he left him but Remi insists it’s all good. Cash says to call him if he needs to. Remi goes over to Bree and suggests they go upstairs for lunch. Cash looks at them thoughtfully.

Remi and Bree head up to Salt. Bree wonders if he should be rehearsing and Remi says he flies by the seat of his pants. He asks if she’s heard from Jacob and if she knows where she is with him. Bree asks if he’s wondering when she’s going to leave him and says she didn’t come there to be interrogated but to catch up as friends. She starts to leave; Remi apologises and asks her to stay. Bree does so but makes it clear she doesn’t want to be questioned or lectured. Remi asks her if she’ll come to the gig and she agrees.

Outside, Justin tries to take Theo for a surf to take his mind off things. John approaches them and comments on the gig tonight. Justin asks if he’s coming and John initially pretends he is before confirming he’s joking and telling them to break some legs. Theo tells Justin what Bob said about being Kirby’s first love and worries about their history. Justin insists Theo is Kirby’s future.

Cash turns up at Lyrik’s house. Eden tells him Kirby’s out the back. Cash says he’s been wondering who Eden and Remi wanted advice about and concludes that it’s Bree. He asks if she’s interested in reporting it and Eden says no. Cash says to call him if that changes. Bob arrives as Cash is leaving and asks if Kirby’s there. Eden says no, just as Kirby walks back in.

Kirby reluctantly takes Bob outside for a conversation and says she was happy when she thought he’d left town. Bob says they were great on stage together. He admits that his career could do with a boost, saying he must be desperate to admit he needs Lyrik’s help. He asks to have one last song with her. Kirby isn’t keen but Bob says if he gets a good profile on social media then he can leave town.

Leah calls out to Theo that Kirby’s calling his phone. Justin and Theo come in and Leah tells them Roo has invited her to help out on the food truck and she’s going to go. Justin asks her opinion on his shirt for the gig; Leah doesn’t like either of his choices and says she’ll pick something for him. Theo listens to Kirby’s message and says that Bob’s playing with the band tonight.

Remi arrives back at the house and finds Eden loading up the van outside, joking that he almost missed out on helping. Eden tells him about Cash’s visit but doesn’t think he’ll say anything to Bree, since he’s in the same boat as them. Bob appears with Kirby and announces that the band’s back together. Kirby explains that she’s agreed Bob can do one song with them. Eden and Remi aren’t happy that this has happened without them being consulted but reluctantly accept it.

John runs into Cash at Salt. Cash offers him a free meal but he says not tonight. John suggests inviting Gary for a surprise visit to mend fences before the wedding. He accepts a takeaway and says to put it on Cash’s tab. Cash rings Gary. Eden, Remi, Kirby and Bob arrive. Eden wonders where Theo is, then notices Remi looking around. In her motel room, Bree is dressed up ready to leave but stops when she sees herself in the mirror.

Leah and Justin compliment each other on their outfits and prepare to leave but then find Theo slumped on the couch, still dressed casually. Justin says he should already be gone. Theo says he’s not going. Justin heads to Salt and tells Kirby and the others, saying Theo heard they had a new lead singer. Kirby protests that she left a message saying Bob was going to do one song. Bob offers to do the gig but both Eden and Remi refuse to play without Theo, and Kirby tells Bob not to argue. Justin announces to the crowd that the gig is cancelled.

Eden, Remi and Bob exit the surf club. Bob says they’ve made a big mistake and don’t need Theo but Eden tells him he’s not part of the band anymore. Kirby gives Bob a withering look and walks through them. Remi tells Eden he’s going to check on Bree, since he’s worried Jacob might have come back. Bob needles Kirby about the fact Theo abandoned her.

Bree is sat taking off her earrings. Remi comes to the door and asks what happened. Bree says she changed her mind. Remi explains about being worried and asks if she’s going to invite him in. Bree stands aside and Remi goes into her room.
