Extended Summary

John runs into Justin after he’s been surfing and tries to discuss surfing terms with him. He asks after Theo, who Justin says is getting on well in the city with Cassandra. Justin also mentions that Dimitri has disappeared. Ryder comes past, dressed up, and says it’s a new look for the function. John explains to Justin that Salt is closed again. Justin was hoping to go there for takeaway so John invites him to come to the Diner with him. Meanwhile, Mackenzie is telling Dean she has no-one else to turn to. Ziggy appears, having got dressed up. Dean isn’t keen on her working a bucks night so Mackenzie says it’s a hen night, although Dean isn’t reassured by talk of male strippers. Ziggy says it isn’t his call but wonders why she’s glammed up. Mackenzie claims the night has a glamour theme.

Felicity exits her caravan on the phone to Ryder, saying she’s not in tonight but Mackenzie should be there soon. Tane asks if ditching poker night is a good idea but Felicity says Tane’s her priority and thinks Mackenzie will cope. At the farm house, Dean is pacing and finally rings Logan, who is at the Diner, guessing that he’s at a loose end with Mackenzie busy and suggesting he come over. John and Justin arrive at the Diner. Justin explains that Dimitri doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with the way he treats Theo, just calling it discipline.

Logan arrives at the farm house. Dean offers him a beer but he’s on call. Dean asks what he knows about the hens night. Logan thinks it was a bucks night but isn’t really bothered. Meanwhile, Mackenzie shows Ziggy up to Salt, which she quickly realises isn’t set up for a hen night. Mackenzie explain it’s pop-up poker and didn’t want Dean to know. Ziggy realises this is where Mackenzie got her money from and doesn’t want to hide it from Dean since they don’t keep secrets. Mackenzie convinces her to stay with a promise to tell Dean tomorrow.

Tane and Felicity are lying back in bed after a session. Tane asks if Felicity really doesn’t want to go to the poker night, noting that he could do with going along and letting his hair down. He also feels bad about Felicity missing it. Felicity agrees. At Salt, Ziggy serves Nathan while Ryder briefs her on noticing empty drinks but not lingering too long. They see Tane and Felicity turn up. Mackenzie goes over to them, slightly annoyed at Felicity changing her mind when she’s already had to involve Ziggy. She agrees to let Tane take a spare place at Nathan’s table, where Nathan introduces him to his friend Jack. Ryder tells Ziggy about Tane winning big last time.

Dean and Logan have finished watching a match, and Dean has finished the beer so suggests they go to Salt for more. Logan isn’t keen on interrupting Mackenzie but agrees when Dean accuses him of being scared of her. At Salt, Ziggy serves Jack, who suggests she’s his lucky charm. Ryder and Felicity chat about Tane’s performance with Ryder thinking he could go pro. Felicity thanks Mackenzie for letting them stay. Tane goes all-in and Jack calls him. Tane unveils a flush but Jack reveals he has a full house. Tane accepts it graciously and Ryder says he might have some notes for him.

Dean and Logan arrive downstairs. Dean thinks something’s wrong. Logan gets a call from the hospital and says there’s an emergency MVA so he has to go. John points out the Closed sign to Dean and mentions seeing a bunch of men in flash suits going up. Upstairs, Felicity calls last drinks. Dean arrives just as Ziggy is turning down Jack’s attentions. Mackenzie and Ziggy accompany Dean onto the balcony and Mackenzie assures him Ziggy didn’t know until they got there and they were going to tell him. Mackenzie tells Dean that Felicity has vetted everyone and it was the only way to stop herself going bankrupt. Dean says to keep Ziggy out of it from now on and wonders what Mackenzie’s going to tell Logan. Mackenzie says she’ll deal with it if she needs to.

Dean and Ziggy arrive home. Dean is still worried about what Mackenzie’s up to and that the people there are dodgy. Ziggy says they all behaved but Dean says that’s because they want to stay on the invite list and things could get bad if people lose big. At the surf club, Felicity shows everyone out and shares a few words with Nathan and Jack, who wonder when the next one will be. Felicity asks Tane about his loss and he says he was just glad to take his mind off his problems for the night.

Next morning, Tane and Felicity are watching the sunrise up on a rock and comment on how amazing it is. Felicity says she has great ideas occasionally and is having one now. Tane asks if it involves food, leaving Felicity aghast at him thinking about that now. Tane says they have to get back to the real world sooner or later. Felicity tells him to stay there and to trust her. Tane complies but looks pensive.
