Extended Summary

Ari and Mackenzie approach the surf club. Ari asks how long Ziggy’s gone for and Mackenzie says she just said a few days. Ari comments on the fact Tane, Ziggy and Willow are all now gone but Mackenzie laughs at the idea that Tane might have gone on a road trip with the pair. Nearby, Colby runs into Taylor and tells her about Angelo summoning him to the station. Taylor wonders if it’s to do with the witness he mentioned. Angelo is listening to the conversation at the police station via the bug and is frustrated when Colby doesn’t say any more. He takes out a folder with photos of Colby and Taylor kissing.

Leah is trying to keep Grace occupied. Justin says Grace doesn’t like the bunny (which Leah is waving at her) anymore, it’s the sheep. He goes to get some painkillers. Tori comes home, explaining she’s been seeing to some grooming. Leah realises she means waxing, which Justin could have done without knowing. When Tori starts reminiscing about the last time she had sex, he begs her to stop. Tori notes she has two days until Christian comes back. However, Irene and Jasmine are currently encountering Christian at the Diner. Christian tries to make small talk with Jasmine but she gives blunt answers. After Christian has gone, Irene notes Jasmine was cold. Jasmine says they’re not friends and she’s just being professional.

Colby arrives at the police station. Angelo says he’s found a new witness: He won’t say who it is but they’re willing to make a full statement. Colby is annoyed Angelo called him in without even knowing what the witness has to say. Angelo says he’s just keeping him updated and Colby says to do it over the phone next time. At Salt, Mackenzie serves a distracted Taylor before joining Ari at a table, pointing out they’ll have her place to themselves. At that moment, a badly injured Tane bursts into the farm house and calls out for Ziggy. He tries to make a phone call but collapses before he can.

Colby joins Taylor on the balcony at Salt and says Angelo was bluffing; Angelo thinks Colby did it and was hoping he would give something away. Taylor wonders why Angelo would tell the same lie to her and if he knows about them. Colby dismisses the idea, thinking it’s because of him being a River Boy. They arrange to meet outside in five minutes. At the bar, Ari tells Mackenzie Nikau is staying at Bella’s and suggests she comes back to his: It’s nearer and has a pool. Near the beach, Colby and Taylor meet up. Colby reminds her they have to be careful. Taylor thinks they should tell Bella but Colby thinks she knows too much already. Listening in, Angelo makes a note of this, but tears out the earpiece in anger when Colby and Taylor start kissing.

Tori gets up during the night and runs into Leah. She notes it’s going to be a long two days. Leah is worried about Justin starting his treatment tomorrow so gets Tori to distract her by talking about Christian. Tori says sex is a big deal and wishes he’d let it happen organically. Leah heads off to bed. Next morning, Mackenzie arrives home to find the door open. She discovers Tane lying semi-conscious and calls for an ambulance.

Shortly after, Tori and Jasmine are looking after Tane at the hospital. Mackenzie explains that she was at Ari’s so Tane might have lain there all night. She goes to call Ari. Christian turns up to Tori’s shock, since she thought he wasn’t back until tomorrow, and she tries to cover. Later, Ari arrives and tries to ask Tane what happened. Tane talks about the van and Ziggy, which no-one understands. Tori says he has to go for a scan; Jasmine offers to take him but Tori says she and Christian will. Once they’re in the lift, Tori somewhat erratically complains about Christian’s early return, saying she’d made plans for tomorrow.

Colby is showering himself near the surf club. Angelo approaches and notes he has a new lead, also asking about Bella. Colby says Angelo can play all the games he likes but won’t get the better of him. At the Diner, Leah notes the large breakfast Justin has ordered. Justin says he’s enjoying it before the treatment makes him feel ill. Nearby, Taylor approaches Colby and they plan to meet at their usual motel. Angelo listens in. Getting up a list of local motels, he rings one asking for a list of bookings from the last two months.

Tane has been returned to the emergency department and is fully conscious now. Tori says there’s a tear to his liver that they’re hoping will fix itself. Ari asks him who did it and Tane claims he was visiting an old friend and her husband came home. Mackenzie suggests she and Ari leave. Tane asks about his phone, which is in a bag under his bed. Jasmine says she’ll get it for him after she’s got the IV fluids. Left alone, Tane tries to get out of bed but falls. Tori and Jasmine rush to help him. Meanwhile, Leah and Justin are going for a walk on the beach. Justin isn’t looking forward to the treatment but Leah convinces him it’s the best option.

Tane is back in bed as Christian joins Tori and Jasmine. Tori says the fall might have made the liver tear worse: He could be bleeding internally and need surgery.
