Extended Summary

Outside the bait shop, Bella is watching Nikau hose out some containers and complains about the lack of interest. Nikau starts spraying her with the hose and also sprays Ryder when he appears. Ryder says he wanted to know whether Nikau’s passport had cleared and Bella says they’re still waiting. Nikau then gets a text saying Tane’s in hospital. Ryder says they’ll clear up for him and Bella says to text to let her know what’s going on. At the hospital, Tori and Christian check Tane’s scans: The bleeding isn’t too bad but the tear has got worse. Christian thinks they should operate but Tori wants to wait and see. Jasmine rather bluntly backs Tori up. Nikau turns up and asks what happened. Tane says he’ll tell him later.

As they clear up, Bella admits to Ryder that she hopes Nikau’s passport isn’t cleared because she’d miss him. Ryder thinks he’d come back but Bella says Gemma wants him to stay. She says he’s her everything. Ryder gives her a hug. Meanwhile, Christian visits Tori in her office and she notes Tane is improving. Christian asks what time she finishes work. Tori is annoyed, saying he can’t make an appointment for sex and then turn up early. Christian is bemused but won’t argue. Tori looks disappointed.

Justin and Leah arrive at the hospital and are greeted by Jasmine. Christian comes over and Jasmine leaves them to it. Christian notes Tori isn’t happy with him because he messed up her schedule. Meanwhile, Jasmine checks in on Tane. After she’s gone, Tane tells Nikau to get his phone. Nikau says he’ll make the call. Tane explains he left a van full of stolen goods with Ziggy and is worried the people that beat him will come after it. Nikau realises no-one would go to this much trouble over a few stolen TVs. Tane admits the van is full of drugs. Nikau throws the phone at him in disgust and walks out.

Ryder and Bella arrive at Salt. Ryder suggests she and Nikau could have a long distance relationship: New Zealand’s only a three hour flight and it could be a holiday home. Bella doesn’t think she can afford the flight. Ryder notes he can see why they’re not talking about it. At the hospital, Tane leaves a message for Ziggy. He tells Nikau he didn’t know it was drugs and has said he won’t run them. He also tells Nikau not to say anything to Ari. Christian comes in to check on him and says it’s up to Tori when he’s discharged and she’s the reason he’s not having surgery.

Tori chats to Leah about her conversation with Christian. She worries that he doesn’t want to sleep with her and is just stringing her along. Leah doesn’t think that’s the case and suggests Tori’s giving him mixed messages. At the Diner, Jasmine complains to Irene about Christian contradicting Tori. Irene thinks it’s a sign Jasmine hasn’t come to terms with him. Jasmine says she’s sorted things with Tori. Irene points out if things get serious she could be seeing a lot more of Christian.

Tori asks Christian into her office and locks the door. She says she wants him and assumes he wants her, kissing him passionately. Christian lifts her up onto the desk but she suddenly halts things and apologises. Christian leaves. At the Morgan house, Marilyn is telling Leah she’s got food ready. Justin is recovering from treatment and notes he’s just exhausted. Tori comes home and Marilyn takes Grace to change her. Tori is distracted and eventually admits she made a move on Christian in her office and then threw him out. Justin notes he’s starting to feel nauseous and Leah suggests office sex isn’t Tori’s thing.

Bella has moved on to panicking about Nikau meeting someone else and Ryder suggests she was happier when she wasn’t talking. Nikau comes in; Ryder quietly tries to get Bella to talk to him but Bella is happy to slip back into denial. Christian also comes in and sees Jasmine at a table, offering to buy her a drink. Jasmine tries to leave but Christian wants to know what he’s done to upset her. Jasmine says she’ll have a merlot. Next morning, Tori meets Christian on the beach. He says he has sisters and know it’s hard for a single mother starting a relationship. He also says he spoke to Jasmine and she told him about Grace’s father. He suggests they take things slow and start with a walk on the beach.

Nikau and Bella arrive at the hospital where Jasmine is checking on Tane. Nikau sends Bella to get drinks and asks Tane if he’s heard from Ziggy. Tane hasn’t but shows him an anonymous text saying if they don’t get their gear Tane’s family will be hurt. Tane advises Nikau to get out of Summer Bay. At the Morgan house, Justin isn’t feeling up to breakfast so Leah takes his bowl from him. She is reluctant to leave him but Justin insists she goes. Leah tells him to let the doctor know he’s tired and reminds him Tori said this was his new normal.

Marilyn is chatting to Ryder when Bella and Nikau turn up with an update on Tane. Marilyn asks Nikau about going to New Zealand and Bella says she’ll be outside. Ryder tells Nikau to go after her. Nikau finds Bella on the pier and realises it’s about New Zealand. Bella says she doesn’t want to put pressure on him and wants him to be happy but is scared of never seeing him again. Nikau says his passport’s been cleared and asks Bella to move to New Zealand with him.
