Extended Summary

Ziggy meets Dean after a surf lesson. They kiss but stop when Willow appears. Willow tells them not to stop for her and Dean says it would be awkward now. Willow says people feeling sorry for her makes her feel worse. At the graves, Justin has dug a hole and steps back with Tori and Leah. Tori starts to speak, saying Mason was infuriatingly stubborn and impulsive. Justin says she’s meant to say something nice and Tori says she’s getting there. She says Mason had a brave and generous heart, and would break rules and put himself on the line to help others, and they’re proud of him and love and miss him. Justin agrees. He goes to take the box with the ashes but Tori says not yet.

Ben tells Maggie that Marco’s gone back to the city. Maggie asks when they’ll see him again and Ben says he’ll be back when he’s sorted the paperwork. He checks Maggie isn’t having second thoughts and she assures him she’s on board. He wonders if she wants to come to the board shop with him but Maggie says she’s meeting Roo, who turns up on cue. Ben leaves as Maggie asks Roo about the school excursion she’s suggesting. A short time later, Roo outlines the details: A play in the city with a Q&A with the writer afterwards, although they’ll need to leave early. She senses Maggie has something else on her mind. Maggie says she slept with Ben’s brother.

At the surf club, Ziggy gushes over Grace, who Jasmine has brought in, but assures Dean she doesn’t want one of her own. Willow emerges from the gym and snappily tells Jasmine that she’s trying to run her business and needs to get on. Dean is concerned when Jasmine confirms she’s been like that all week. Jasmine heads into the gym office where Willow gets her to sign forms authorising payments for towels and wages. She also needs to sign off on a new membership form and Willow gets slightly frustrated when she can’t immediately find it. Jasmine asks if she’s heard from Alex, suggesting they could still be friends, and says Dean and Ziggy are worried about her. Willow tells Jasmine to focus on her own life and Jasmine quickly leaves.

Justin tells Tori they don’t have to do it now or at all but Tori knows it’s right and slowly surrenders the box to him. Justin buries it in the hole he’s made. Leah lays the flowers on the new grave and soon after the third cross is added. Back at the farm, Roo asks Maggie when it happened. Maggie says it was when she was nineteen: She was with Ben, except technically she wasn’t. They’d argued over Diana’s disapproval and he had broken up with her. She was slightly drunk at a party and wanted to feel something else, or maybe get back at Ben, so went there with Marco. Afterwards, she regretted it and ignored him and soon after got back with Ben, successfully burying it for twenty-two years. She explains about Marco blackmailing her and wishes she’d told Ben at the time, since she’s not sure how he’ll react now.

At the surf club, Ben has joined Dean and Ziggy. Ziggy wonders how he changed Maggie’s mind about investing but Ben doesn’t understand it, how she went from objecting to encouraging it. Willow comes past and refuses Dean’s offer of help. Ziggy thinks he should leave it but Dean insists on going after her. At the graveyard, Justin is sat by the crosses, saying he let them down. Leah and Tori watch from a little way away; Tori doesn’t know what to do so Leah approaches Justin alone. Justin thinks he let his parents down by not looking after Mason. Leah leads him away.

Back home, Justin goes to the bathroom, undresses and takes a shower, crying. Leah knocks on the door then goes in; Justin is out of the shower and dry, wearing a towel. Leah hugs him. Near the beach, Tori has met up with Jasmine and Grace and notes it was hard saying goodbye to Mason again. She adds that Grace is a light in the midst of it all. Jasmine says there’ll be more light soon, touching her stomach. Tori asks if she’s pregnant and Jasmine says Grace is going to be a big sister. Tori is delighted.

Ben and Ziggy arrive home while Maggie and Roo are talking. Roo is quick to excuse herself as Ben announces they’re making a surprise celebratory dinner. Ziggy is pleased to have Marco around and Ben argues that he’s cooler, asking Maggie for back-up. Maggie says she married him and asks what they’re having. Ziggy says it’s tortellini…out of a packet. Down on the beach, Dean tries to help Willow set up and says it sucks that Alex has gone. Willow is unimpressed by his attempts, reminding him he fell to pieces when he broke up with Ziggy for a week. She correctly guesses that the only plan he can come up with is to drink a few beers and still refuses to let him help.

Leah and Justin have moved to the living area. Tori arrives with Grace and starts to tell them what she heard, then asks Justin if he’s okay. Justin says people keep asking him that and he doesn’t know how to answer. Tori understand but says they have to find a way to move on and Mason would want them to stop moping. Justin accepts that’s true and Tori starts to share her news again. Later, Tori notes Grace is still sleeping. Justin notes it’s a long one and Leah and Tori tells him he’s jinxed it. Tori suggests they start moving on by clearing out Mason’s room and also wants to give them their room back: She gets disturbed by Grace during the night so wants to turn Mason’s room into a nursery. Grace starts crying and Justin jokes that she heard Tori’s turfing her out of her room. After Tori’s gone, Leah says it’s good to see Justin smiling and he says he couldn’t manage without her. They gently kiss.

At the Diner, Jasmine tells Roo, Marilyn and Willow that she’s pregnant. Roo and Marilyn are delighted while Irene is relieved she doesn’t have to keep it secret anymore. Marilyn suggests a girl called Hope or Dawn; Irene and Roo tell her to let Jasmine name the baby but Jasmine says she’ll put the names on the list. Willow congratulates her but walks away from their table looking teary.
