Ruby is stunned after Xavier comes clean about lying. Election day has arrived and Martha is doing everything she can to garner last minute votes. Romeo and Xavier make an unexpected discovery.
Extended Summary
Ruby is stunned after Xavier has revealed he was lying about his amnesia. But Xavier isn’t taking a backward step, accusing Ruby of lying too – about her feelings for Geoff. Geoff finds her upset after the fight and comforts her, as Ruby confesses she broke up with Xavier for Geoff. Not knowing what to say, Geoff focuses his efforts on taking care of her. As much as she pushes to talk about their unresolved issues, he won’t. When Xavier hears from Colleen about Ruby’s illness, he goes to her, apologetic and wanting to fix things, but Ruby tells him it’s too late. It’s over, they need to leave it there. Later, with Geoff still unwilling to address their feelings, Ruby is worried that he thinks of her differently now he knows she’s sick, but he assures her he doesn’t – and they kiss. Finally.
Election day has arrived and Martha is doing everything she can to garner last minute votes. Her dislike for John and his snide attitude is apparent, but Gina isn’t sure she believes them – she thinks John’s quite nice, and doesn’t understand what the problem is. Gina’s pleasantries with John only serve to infuriate Martha, she doesn’t know whose side Gina’s on. When Colleen tells her that she’s heard unofficially that Martha has won, they begin to celebrate, only to have John arrive and tell them that he has won. Martha is disappointed, after all the work she put in, and the family console her, a sight which gets to John, who has no one to congratulate him.
Romeo finds Xavier down in the dumps about his break-up with Ruby, and Romeo, still sad after Annie leaving, thinks the two of them make quite the pair. They try to take their mind off their troubles by agreeing to go to a party with two local schoolgirls. They head up to the derelict house to inspect it before the party, but the story of the man who lived there freaks Xavier out a bit. After a bit of scare tactics from the girls, things get genuinely spooky and the girls leave, too scared to stay. Romeo and Xavier press on, looking for the source of the noises in the house, only to find a little boy under a blanket. Who is the little kid?
