Charlie decides that Grant is going to pay for what he’s done. Geoff makes a momentous decision. Xavier and Ruby reach a better place, but for how long?
Extended Summary
With Ruby and Geoff’s friendship deepening, Xavier becomes increasingly jealous of the pair but Ruby insists that she and Xavier are still very much an item, despite him thinking otherwise. However, Ruby later talks to Geoff about her relationship with Xavier and he comments that only she knows what she truly feels.
Geoff is struggling to complete an assignment and makes a decision that he’s quitting school. Irene is surprised to hear of his plans and worries for Geoff’s future when he admits he doesn’t know what he’s going to do now he’s quit school. Later, Geoff overhears Irene talking to Aden about starting up the fishing trawler again and suggests that he could work on the boat. Irene isn’t convinced, but Geoff urges her to let him work on the boat if he can talk Aden in to agreeing to be the skipper.
Having learnt of Geoff’s plans to quit school, Ruby visits him and listens as Geoff talks about how bad things are in his life. However, when Ruby insists that Geoff is a nice guy, it looks as though the pair’s friendship is fast brewing into something more.
Xavier is less than pleased when it appears Brendan has developed a crush on Ruby. Later, Brendan begins commenting that Ruby is his girlfriend and everyone puts it down to a harmless crush, until the phone rings and a girl named Ruby asks to speak to Brendan. Could Brendan also have a girlfriend called Ruby?
Charlie is rattled that Grant is hanging around the Bay and desperate to make Ruby see that he isn’t as harmless as he’s making himself out to be. When Charlie asks Angelo to look into sexual assaults around the areas where Grant has lived, he refuses, saying he can’t use police resources for personal gain. But Charlie is insistent that Grant will pay for what he did to her.
