Extended Summary

With Charlie in hospital having been hit by a car, Morag is intrigued as to why Angelo was with her at the time of the accident. Ruby is forced to come clean and admits to a less than impressed Morag that Angelo and Charlie are in a relationship. Later, Ruby is relieved when doctors tell her that Charlie’s condition isn’t as serious as first feared. However, when the doctor makes mention of Charlie’s caesarean scar, Ruby is intrigued and questions her father. Ross brushes it aside as the result of an illness Charlie suffered as a child, but Ruby isn’t convinced.

At the hospital, while Morag makes her thoughts and opinions about Charlie’s relationship with Angelo known, Brett – Joey’s brother and the man who hit Charlie – is wheeled into the ward and begins mouthing off at Charlie, blaming her for destroying his family and driving Joey away forever. The next day, Angelo confronts Charlie about Joey and she admits that she was in a relationship with Joey before admitting that Joey is in fact a woman.

Later, Ross visits Charlie and tells his daughter that he doesn’t think he can keep their secret any longer. With his condition deteriorating, Ross is worried he might let slip and pleads with Charlie to come clean and reveal the truth to everyone.

Rachel, having been allowed to take baby Harry home, is feeling exhausted as the enormity of being a new mother begins to take its toll. Turning to parenting books to help her cope, Rachel becomes annoyed at Tony as he breaks routine, while the spontaneous visits from Martha and Hugo, Ross and Morag and finally Colleen push the new mother to breaking point. Later, Rachel is shocked to learn that Rex and Jane – the couple who lost their baby – are planning on suing the hospital and Rachel.

Angelo is surprised to learn that the DNA results for the missing Indonesian illegal immigrant and the severed arm found on the beach are a close match.
