Extended Summary
Chloe’s taking a morning walk when her phone rings. It’s ‘Troy’ again. She is clearly feeling pressure as she ignores the call again. At the diner, Chloe talks to Jesse about his colorful past and asks him if he thinks a fresh start is ever truly possible. Jesse senses her mood and questions her on it, but she deflects attention from herself, leaving Jesse suspicious.
Robbie, Tasha and Martha are doing secret party planning stuff. Alf almost spots them, but they cover. They have no idea who to invite and need some help. Morag comes in. The threesome share a look – they don’t have a choice… Martha moves across to Morag – can we talk?
Jesse notices a bruise on Chloe’s leg and comments on it. Chloe quickly covers it up and stumbles out some excuse about how she got it. Not buying it, Jesse prods further until Chloe snaps, insisting it’s none of his business so can he just leave her the hell alone?! She quickly moves out, leaving Jesse convinced that something is very wrong with her. Chloe’s phone rings. It’s Troy. Jesse answers and menacingly tells Troy to back off, as someone watches the exchange from a distance. Then as Chloe walks off on her own, Troy follows…
Cassie’s excited as she gets the house ready for her romantic time with Ric. Confused, Ric goes to Wazza for advice. Wazza reckons if Ric likes Cassie he should go for it – he’d be mad not to! Ric meets up with Cassie. They have the house to themselves. They start kissing, things get passionate between them and Cassie starts to lead Ric towards the stairs… Ric cottons on to why she’s decided to seduce him – ie. Her fears about him and Matilda – and he stops the situation with difficulty. He’s sorry, he can’t do this. Cassie is left feeling humiliated and confused.
Calm now, Chloe apologises to Jesse for snapping it at him. Fighting back tears, she explains she started seeing a guy about six months ago – Troy. They really fell for each other, he wined and dined her, treated her like a princess – he was the perfect guy, it was the happiest she’d been since Lachie. However, once they got deeper in to the relationship, he started to change… then, one night, he hit her, but Troy begged for her forgiveness, promised it would never happen again – and like the cliché, Chloe believed him. The relationship went on for a little while longer, then he became convinced she was having an affair. No matter how much she denied it, Troy didn’t believe her. Then, one night he beat her to within an inch of her life. She was hospitalized and took out an AVO against him – but it’s useless and Troy still won’t leave her alone.
Morag’s given Martha, Robbie and Tasha some help. They’ve got to contact Celia, Roo, Duncan, Barbara, Fisher, Blake – plus heaps more. So much to do – they get started!
Ric straightens things out with Matilda – he admits that he does feel protective of her… it’s a hangover from their first contact. They work through their feelings but both agree that there’s nothing to act on between them now. Ric finds Cassie and is honest about what’s been happening… but his explanation comes too late to salve her wounded pride, shattered ego… Their relationship is still very much on the line.
After talking to her daughter “Olivia” on the phone, Chloe comes downstairs and notices a rose sitting on the table, a note attached – “Chloe, I love you”. Tears spring to Chloe’s eyes as she recoils in fear…
