This entire episode centred around Keith Williams taking a gun into Summer Bay High School and holding Donald Fisher hostage in his office. Although there was no gunfire in the episode, it was due to air in the UK only six months after the Dunblane Primary School massacre. As a result, the episode was not broadcast on ITV.
Alongside Episode 2418, this remains one of only two Home and Away episodes to never be broadcast on terrestrial television in the UK. Both episodes were later aired as part of a repeat run on UK satellite channel Living TV in the early 2000s.
