Extended Summary

Leah and Justin are walking towards the Diner making jokes about being late. Alf sees them and wonders if their happy mood is because they’ve got news of Susie. The mood instantly darkens as Leah says they’ve heard nothing and walks away. Justin chides Alf, since they may never get any news. After he’s gone as well, Alf sees Dean and tells him the surf comp is definitely on for next week. Dean starts to give him ideas but Alf says Roo’s organising it so he should talk to her. Dean starts to walk away and Alf asks if he has Roo’s number, saying he’ll text it to him. At the Parata house, Nikau wakes up and tries to rouse Bella, saying she told him not to let her sleep in because she has a TAFE assignment to do. Bella sleepily tries to deny it, then gives him another reason to stay in bed…

At the Morgan house, Jasmine tries and fails to call Lewis and tells Tori that she should never have left him. Tori says they’ll track him down together and then sort it. Jasmine is surprised given everything he’s done, but Tori says Christian’s no saint either. Meanwhile, Christian is waking up and finds that he’s now strapped to a bed. Lewis approaches and tells him to stay calm since they’ve got a lot to talk about.

At the Diner, Tori (who has Grace with her) asks Irene if she’s seen Lewis, noting Jasmine was worried about him. Tori decides to wait for Christian. Leah has her head buried in her phone, noting that there’s no sign of Susie. She tries to get Irene to tell her how Willow found out about her. Outside the surf club, Dean is on the phone to Roo, asking if she knows about all the stuff he’s done. She gives him a list of jobs and he lies about writing them down. He runs into Bella and Nikau sat nearby and explains, before being surprised Bella is doing TAFE work there. She reveals there’s always people at Nikau’s and Jai and Amber are at theirs. Dean says it’s her home too. After he’s gone, Bella notes she’d like to see Dean do an assignment with a kid running around…or at all.

At the Diner, Tori is chatting to Justin, who is considering entering the surf comp although he hasn’t got the all-clear from his specialist. He points out to Irene that Leah is looking at her phone instead of working. Tori is doing much the same since she hasn’t heard from Christian and leaves him a message. Meanwhile, Lewis is tightening Christian’s bonds and Christian wonders if this is payback for hitting him. Lewis says he wants Christian to know what it’s like to surrender control and Christian’s life is now in his hands.

Tori and Grace meet up with Jasmine near the beach. Jasmine says Lewis called in sick at the hospital and still isn’t answering her calls. She wants to go to his place to check it out. Tori asks her to push Grace’s pram while she calls Christian, intending to leave Grace with Marilyn. Christian hears the phone ringing but is unable to reach it and also receives no response to his cries for help. Lewis says they’re going to stay there until Christian admits he’s responsible for his wife and child’s deaths. Christian says he’s sorry that that happened. Lewis says he’s going to hold him to account.

Bella and Nikau settle at Salt for her to do her work. Opening her laptop, Bella sees that she won the photography competition. Nikau is initially pleased but seems less so when he sees the winning photo: A shot of him asleep in bed which he didn’t even know she’d taken. Meanwhile, Justin arrives back at the Diner and he and Irene listen in as Leah has a heated debate with the police on the phone. Tori and Jasmine arrive and explain there was no sign of Lewis at his house and his neighbours hadn’t seen him: They don’t think it’s a coincidence that both he and Christian have disappeared. Tori decides to phone the hospital.

Exiting the surf club, Bella enthuses to Nikau about attending an award ceremony, where the winning photographs will be displayed. She says it’s not really her thing and Nikau bluntly says she should have thought of that before entering. He makes it clear he’s not happy about her entering a photo of him in bed that should have been private without asking. Bella argues that he looks amazing in it but Nikau says she shouldn’t have done it. Dean observes the conversation and follows Nikau down to the beach. Nikau tells him about Bella winning the competition and says it’s embarrassing to have a photo of him on display. Dean reminds him Bella’s been through a lot lately and says he’s ruining this for her.

Justin joins Irene and Leah as Leah admits she gave a customer who asked for a ham and cheese toastie one with tomato on. Irene suggests Leah go home and she agrees to do so after correcting the order. Nearby, Tori gets off the phone and tells Jasmine that no-one’s seen Christian at the hospital and he didn’t swipe into the building…but Lewis did. They decide to head down there. Meanwhile, Lewis is recording Christian on his camera and tries to get him to admit to being responsible for his wife’s death but Christian refuses to do so. He says he won’t press charges and will get Lewis help, but Lewis says his wife and child needed help and Christian wasn’t there. He insists he knows what happened and is going to stop Christian hurting anyone else, attaching wires to him.

Bella meets Nikau outside his house and says he was right that she should have asked his permission and she’ll have the photo taken down and refuse the prize. However, Nikau tells her not to do that: He says she should be proud of herself and is sorry if he ruined the moment for her. Bella still isn’t sure about going to the prize giving but Nikau says if his photo’s on display then people should see how amazing she is. Meanwhile, Leah is hammering some slabs of meat at home and tells Justin she’s pretending it’s Susie. Justin says he’s just put Grace down and tries to calm her, saying he’ll do dinner. Leah says she’s going to find Susie herself.

Jasmine and Tori have arrived at the hospital but are just as confused, since both Christian and Lewis’ cars are in the car park. Tori heads off to check CCTV, telling Jasmine to search each floor. Meanwhile, Lewis approaches Christian with a trolley as an increasingly panicky Christian asks why he’s hooked up to a heart monitor. Lewis says it’s so he can see when Christian’s heart stops and prepares a syringe. Christian begs him to stop, saying this would destroy Jasmine. Lewis pauses for a moment, then says it’s all on Christian and injects him with the contents.
