Extended Summary

Ziggy and Tane meet up on the beach. Tane says that Jasmine wasn’t at the gym but he left her a note. Ziggy says that if he’s serious about getting a job then he needs to get himself a CV. Mia comes along on a jog, noting that Ari’s driving her crazy and she’s had to hide the lawn mower and the fishing rod. Tane notes that if Ari doesn’t keep busy he starts to think. Mia begins to wonder if she was right to leave him. Ziggy and Tane go to have a drink at Salt. Mia goes home and finds Ari washing the car. She reminds him he’s meant to rest for five to six weeks. Ari reveals his boss can’t keep his job open for him. He splashes Mia with the hose and she throws a bucket of water over him, leaving them both drenched.

Jasmine and Tori meet up again. Tori is waiting on CCTV information. Jasmine is surprised Christian and Lewis weren’t seen in reception and Tori explains Lewis came in by the stairwell. Jasmine says she’s searched all the wards. It dawns on Tori that they might be somewhere where no-one’s working. At the Morgan house, Justin is worrying about Lewis and Christian but Leah is buried in a laptop, looking up other stories of scams. She says she needs to work out Susie’s MO and next move. Justin argues that Susie’s just taken the money and run, and doesn’t think Leah will find her when the police can’t. Leah says she has a vested interest and needs to try.

Ziggy and Tane are on the balcony at Salt. Tane is still hoping to get a job with charm alone but Ziggy tells him a CV is usually expected. Tane admits he’s never had a legal job. Ziggy says he still did jobs for money so they have to make that sound better. Back at the Parata house, Mia stops Ari going out to clean the pool. Ziggy and Tane arrive back and Tane is happy to do the job for him but Ari wants something to do and ends up heading out the back anyway. Tane notes they need something to distract him.

Lewis is sat calmly watching an unconscious Christian as the monitor registers an irregular heartbeat. He hears Tori and Jasmine coming and panics, but relaxes again when Christian flatlines. Tori and Jasmine arrive and are horrified. Tori asks how long he’s been down and Lewis says too long. Seeing the empty ampoule, Tori starts giving him CPR, yelling at a frozen Jasmine to get the resus trolley. Lewis leaves without a word. Jasmine returns with Freya and other nurses, and Tori says he needs adrenaline and sodium B, with Freya selecting an ampoule. Jasmine says she’ll put the pads on him but Tori snaps at her to stay away from him. Freya steps in instead.

Tane takes the rake away from Ari, wondering when he’s cared so much about cleaning the pool anyway. Ari tells him about possibly losing his job and that he doesn’t have any sick leave. Tane promises to take care of it. Ari is worried but Tane insists it’ll be above board. Later, Ari, Tane, Ziggy and Mia finish a meal together. Ari gets a text from Nikau saying he and Bella are in the city and Ziggy says to get him to send a photo of Bella and the award. Tane and Ziggy decide to head out for a drink. Ari wants to join them, saying he’ll just be sitting at a table. A stony look from Mia convinces him otherwise.

Justin is on the phone to Tori, which gets Leah’s attention as he assures Tori that Marilyn dropped Grace off. He tells Leah about Lewis trying to kill Christian. Both are shocked and Justin notes Jasmine will be devastated and you never really know someone. This starts Leah talking about the stories on the forum. Justin is worried about Tori and asks Leah to keep an eye on Grace while he goes for a walk. Leah agrees but is also keen to keep up with her research. Meanwhile, Jasmine arrives home and finds Lewis in her room. He promises he won’t hurt her and insists he needed to stop Christian destroying any more lives. Jasmine asks about the effect on Christian’s family. Lewis says he didn’t mean to hurt them but did it for Anna. Jasmine says Anna wouldn’t have wanted him to try and kill someone. Lewis picks up on the phrase and Jasmine confirms Christian’s alive. Lewis breaks down, asking Jasmine to make it stop. Jasmine awkwardly puts a comforting hand on his back.

Justin briefly encounters Ziggy and Tane at Salt before going onto the balcony. Ziggy is making notes, calling Tane highly motivated and describing his moving stolen goods as a streamlined delivery service. She says she can give him a reference for his day and a half at the garage and suggests he come back to hers. Tane isn’t keen on disturbing Mac so Ziggy adds that he shows understanding of others. Meanwhile, Tori is watching over Christian at the hospital; he wakes up in a panic and she calms him. Jasmine watches as Lewis is handcuffed and taken away; he apologises to her. She sends Tori a text saying Lewis has turned himself in. Tori reads it and puts the phone down without reaction. A teary Jasmine goes to the Diner and tells Irene that Tori’s going to hate her and she feels lost.

Ari and Mia are curled up on the sofa as Ziggy and Tane arrive back. Ari goes to bed. Mia notes they’ll be back to the same thing tomorrow, with Ari searching for something to do. Ziggy tells Tane that she has an idea. Next morning, Ari tells Mia that he couldn’t sleep because he was thinking too much. They hear a horn and find Ziggy and Tane outside. They have a motorbike on a trailer which Ari identifies as an LC. Ziggy explains her plan is for them to do it up together. Mia’s fine with it as long as Ari doesn’t overdo it. Ari climbs onto the bike enthusiastically.
