Extended Summary

Jasmine objects to being brought back to town for an intervention, with Irene also unhappy that Colby sprung this on them. Colby convinces Jasmine to stay and talk. Tori says she didn’t mean to drive Jasmine out of town and the AVO was just meant to be a wake-up call, with Justin adding that things couldn’t go on as they were. Jasmine asks if they’re going to withdraw the AVO and Tori says she needs to sort out her issues first. Jasmine says she didn’t agree to this and walks out, with Irene following. Back at the beach house, Irene assures Jasmine she didn’t know Colby was going to do that. Jasmine says all of them looking at her like she was crazy was exactly why she left town: She was happy at the farm but now Ian and Wendy have pushed her away as well. Irene insists she belongs there but Jasmine wants to pack her bags and go. Irene convinces her to sleep on it and they’ll talk in the morning.

Next morning, Roo and Marilyn are walking on the beach; Marilyn has filled Roo in on what John said and notes that this morning she made his breakfast as if nothing had happened. She frets about having to find somewhere to live and needing to separate her and John’s lives. Roo suggests she comes and stays with them until she finds something, saying Alf and Martha would love to have her, but Marilyn doesn’t think it’s right when Ryder’s just lost his dad. Meanwhile, Colby turns up at the beach house to a less-than-warm greeting from Irene. Colby says he thought it was best to have Jasmine face Tori sooner rather than later but Irene says it was an ambush and he should have told her what he was planning. Colby knocks on Jasmine’s bedroom door, calls out to her and goes in when she answers. She is packing up the baby clothes so Irene can have the room and still intends to leave. She says nothing has changed: People are still judging her, she still can’t see Grace and it was a mistake to come back there. She walks out of the house and Colby insists he’ll follow her.

Colby follows Jasmine through a park area where she says she’s going to talk to Willow about selling the gym. Colby continues to insist that things might change and Jasmine isn’t thinking things through, asking her to give him half an hour. At the Diner, Leah notices Marilyn staring into space when she’s meant to be making coffees. She asks if everything’s all right at home and Marilyn claims it is. Nearby, Irene is filling Tori and Justin (who have Grace with them) in on Jasmine’s setback after the previous night. Justin thinks they should give her space but Tori insists they need to talk to Jasmine and won’t turn her back on her.

Colby and Jasmine are on the balcony at Salt. Colby apologises for the previous night but thinks Jasmine can still change Tori’s mind if she gets help. Jasmine isn’t convinced, saying Justin will never give her a chance and now Ian and Wendy are against her as well: She’s sick of being ganged up on. Shortly after, on the beach, Justin is aghast when Colby says Jasmine wants to talk to Tori without him being there. Colby says it’s so she doesn’t feel ganged up on and both he and Tori think it’s good that Jasmine hasn’t left town. Justin thinks Jasmine is manipulating them both but Tori says it’s not his decision and tells him to look after Grace.

Marilyn admits she’s messed up an order and says she’ll pay for it. Irene and Leah can see something is wrong with her. Marilyn first tries to claim it’s just one of those days, before admitting John has asked her to move out. Even though she says she’ll finish her shift, Irene and Leah insist she needs to go home to make arrangements. At the Stewart house, Roo is on the phone to Quinn, saying Ryder’s busy at TAFE but handling it as well as can be expected and she’ll get him to call her. Marilyn arrives and tells Roo what happened at the Diner. She admits she’s not ready to go home and doesn’t know where she’d start with the arrangements.

At the Diner, Justin complains to Irene and Leah that Tori is acting out of guilt rather than doing what’s best for Grace. They however think that Tori has to do something to help Jasmine. Irene points out that Colby will be there and thinks it’s good Jasmine hasn’t left town. Justin predicts that Jasmine will manipulate and Tori will cave. Meanwhile, Tori and Colby join Jasmine at the beach house but Tori immediately tells Colby he can leave. Colby isn’t happy but agrees. Tori tells Jasmine they both want her in Grace’s life but she need to follow the mental health plan. Jasmine says she didn’t reject it but didn’t see the point with the AVO in place. She insists she wasn’t a danger to Grace but Tori insists she was behaving inappropriately. Jasmine sees it as an ultimatum: If she doesn’t get help, she doesn’t get to see Grace. However, it’s pointed out that Tori could walk away if she didn’t want to help Jasmine.

Roo and Marilyn are looking up properties. Roo notes Yabbie Creek is cheaper but Marilyn isn’t keen on moving away. Roo suggests Marilyn could still move in. Marilyn realises John will have gone to his appointment by now. She notes she doesn’t want another difficult conversation with him and isn’t used to making big decisions. Roo assures her that her friends are there for her. Marilyn comes home and, after calling out to see if John’s home, looks around as if lost.

Colby meets Irene outside the Diner and explains Jasmine and Tori didn’t want him there. Irene notes Justin won’t be happy about that. Colby is still hopeful that Tori will get through to Jasmine. However, at the beach house, the two women are at an impasse: Tori won’t let Jasmine see Grace unless she gets help while Jasmine won’t agree to see a counsellor if she can’t see Grace. Irene arrives home as Jasmine asks if she’s supposed to walk the other way if she sees Tori and Grace. Tori says she can stop and talk but Jasmine points out that’s not what the AVO says. Tori says Jasmine needs to get better for herself, not for Grace. She continues to insist Jasmine can’t see Grace and Jasmine continues to insist she won’t see a counsellor.

Alf arrives home, surprising Roo who thought he wouldn’t be back for another week. Alf says he wanted to check on Ryder and adds that Martha stayed behind in Merimbula because a friend of hers is ill and having surgery. Roo says Ryder will be better for seeing him. Meanwhile, Leah and Justin meet Tori at the Diner with Grace. Tori admits Justin was right and it was like banging her head against a brick wall: Jasmine isn’t interested in getting well, just in seeing Grace. Justin suggests it might be time to move on. Tori accepts he might be right.
