Extended Summary

Willow is finishing a class near the beach. Tori approaches and confirms she knows Jasmine is back, asking how she is. Willow admits she doesn’t know, since Jasmine wasn’t up for talking last night and Willow left for work without seeing her, and thinks she’s a low priority with her, but agrees to check in with her and report back. Willow heads to the surf club and encounters Amber, who is about to go and pick John up from hydrotherapy but suggests they go out that evening. She teasingly accuses Willow of not being as party fit as she used to be. Willow says she needs to spend time with Jasmine.

At the beach house, Jasmine is complaining to Irene about Tori thinking she can call all the shots. Irene thinks Tori was just trying to fix things. Willow arrives back and Jasmine says Tori is dangling Grace in front of her like a carrot. She thinks there’s no point staying in town if she can’t see Grace so is going to sell the gym and leave. Irene tries to talk her into giving it more time. Later, Willow approaches Jasmine and asks if they can talk. Jasmine says later but Willow isn’t willing to settle for that, saying Jasmine is making big decisions that affect her but won’t talk to her. As the discussion gets heated, Irene comes in and tells them to pull their heads in.

Ryder arrives home and is surprised to see Alf there. Alf explains about Martha staying in Merimbula and notes he can go to the funeral with them. Ryder says he’s not going, although they can if they want, and hurriedly goes to get ready for work. Neither Alf nor Roo understands why he’s changed his mind. At the Palmer house, Marilyn greets John and Amber on their return and John notes he made it across the pool unassisted for the first time. John says they need to talk and Amber goes to hang the towels up outside, giving them space. John reminds Marilyn what he said about her moving out but Marilyn says if she did, even with Amber and the physios, there’d be no-one there during the night if he had a fall. She insists it’s impossible and quickly leaves.

Alf and Roo discuss the fact that Ryder not wanting to go to the funeral has come out of nowhere, given he wanted to organise it himself at one point and has been playing Evan’s guitar and watching the video. Roo wants to talk to him but Alf says she’s done enough already with looking after Evan and he’ll do it. Meanwhile, Irene has sat Jasmine and Willow down and tries to get them to have a calm discussion. Willow says Jasmine’s had it tough but she’s not the only one: Tori lost Robbo and Mason. Jasmine thinks Tori isn’t willing to compromise but Willow says Jasmine isn’t either. Irene tries to calm things but Willow says Jasmine’s acting like no-one matters except her.

Marilyn and Roo are sat outside the Diner. Marilyn explains about her and John’s disagreement but says that John isn’t ready to be independent yet and insists she needs to stay with him. Back at the Palmer house, John is updating Amber on things. Even though it’s difficult having Marilyn there, he thinks she’s right that he wouldn’t be able to manage on his own. Amber tells him that he does have options.

Tori and Justin are walking with Grace near the beach when they see Jasmine sitting on her own with her back to them. Justin thinks they should carry on walking but Tori tells him to carry on with Grace and goes to join Jasmine. Jasmine says that she realises she needs help, adding that she didn’t want to admit it because it’s going to be painful going through her grief with a counsellor. Later, the two of them are at the Diner and Tori gives Jasmine the folder with the counsellors’ details. Jasmine wonders if Tori’s willing to meet her halfway over seeing Grace. She knows she’s been treating people badly and Tori say none of them like seeing her like this.

Alf turns up at Salt and asks Ryder if they can have a talk about Evan. Ryder says he’s busy so Alf says he’ll wait until his break. Even though Ryder says he doesn’t know when it is, Alf sets himself up with a menu and the newspaper. Later, Alf is chatting to Justin while they watch Ryder and tells him about Ryder not wanting go to the funeral. Tori turns up to collect Grace and says she and Jasmine have come to an arrangement. Justin decides he doesn’t want to know.

Marilyn arrives home and John shows her the watch-like personal medical aid that Amber has got for him. He and Amber explain that it’s been programmed with the contact details of Marilyn, Alf, Irene, Roo and Amber, and John can contact any of them at the press of a button if anything happens while he’s alone. John notes that this means Marilyn doesn’t have to stay. Later, Marilyn has a bag packed and tells John she’ll be back for the rest of her things when she has something more permanent: She’s staying at the motel. She offers John her key back but he says that’s not necessary. They say a sad goodbye before she leaves.

Jasmine arrives home and tells Irene and Willow that she’s arranged to see a counsellor. She also notes that Tori has agreed to supervised access to Grace even though the AVO still stands. At that point, Tori arrives with Grace, to Jasmine’s delight. Later, Tori and Grace leave and Irene is cheery about the prospect of Jasmine staying, but Willow is annoyed that Jasmine is still equivocal about keeping the gym and it descends into another argument. Willow ends up alone as Amber comes to the door, asking if she’s changed her mind about going out and pointing out Jasmine isn’t there. Willow agrees.
