Extended Summary

At the Diner, Justin and Ziggy reflect on the fact that Maggie’s probably in Yabbie Creek by now. They are proved wrong when Maggie enters, arguing with Ben, mainly about the fact that the wheel’s broken on her suitcase. Ben suggests that’s a sign. Maggie says Ben’s taken her car keys and wants Ziggy’s car to go to the airport. Justin leads Ben outside and Ziggy suggests it’s good he wants to talk. Maggie tries to demand the keys off her but Ziggy stands firm. At the surf club, Tori meets up with Jasmine and Grace. She is pleased to have Grace back; Jasmine says she’s due a nap soon and Tori is disappointed she’ll be asleep when they spend time together. Alf, coming past, says that’s no bad thing. He asks about John and Marilyn and Tori tells him about John being discharged soon. As everyone else leaves, Jasmine accosts Willow and says she’s got a bone to pick with her.

Shortly after, Jasmine and Willow are on the headland with Jasmine punching pads Willow’s holding and Willow noting she could have just said she wanted a workout. Willow mentions an idea she has for a running club and maybe beginners’ classes. Jasmine is amused at the idea of teaching people to run. Willow notes a couple of good-looking guys watching them and jokingly suggests they hire them for the class to chase. At the Palmer house, Marilyn is doing the vacuuming when Alf arrives. She says she has a lot to do including making up the bed in Jett’s room; she explains John sleeping there as being because that’s where all the modifications are. She begins wondering what he can eat but Alf says he’ll sort that out later, offering to make her a cuppa.

Ziggy tries to convince Maggie that Ben wanting to fight for her is a good thing but Maggie says it’s just messing with her head when she’s already made the decision to leave. Leah sits with them and agrees she and Ziggy shouldn’t try and change Maggie’s mind but suggests Maggie won’t be able to move on unless she resolves things with Ben. Out on the pier, Justin keeps Ben at bay until Maggie comes out to talk to him, at which point he leaves them to it. Maggie confirms she still loves Ben but asks what’s changed, wondering if he’s forgiven her for what happened with Marco. When Ben is unable to say he has, Maggie reiterates nothing’s changed.

Alf asks Marilyn if she’s sure about John moving back in. Marilyn wants to help him get better and says he can’t go back to the caravan. Alf asks what she’s intending to happen if John does get well but Marilyn thinks they’re a long way off having that conversation. Alf offers to help get John from the hospital. Marilyn says they’re arranging patient transport so Alf goes to get John’s things from the caravan instead. Meanwhile, Willow and Jasmine arrive back at the gym. Jasmine is happy for Willow to set up the running classes and suggests setting up mother and baby yoga. She notes she was going to sign up for it when she found out she was pregnant. She corrects herself, saying that she thought she was pregnant and assuring Willow she’s not going to turn into a mess.

On the beach, Ben gives Maggie her keys back but still isn’t keen for her to go. He says he can’t lie and pretend he’s over things but asks for one more night to try and get his head round it. Maggie doesn’t see what difference it will make but agrees to wait until the morning. Later, Ben is with Justin at the surf club, unsure what he’s going to do. He says he went after Maggie because he didn’t want to live without her, yet the resentment’s still there.

At the Diner, Marilyn talks to Leah about changing her hours so she can be there with John. She admits she’s not sure how she feels about it. Jasmine enters and joins Tori and Grace, saying she has a job for Grace. Tori jokes about sending her out to work before Jasmine explains she wants to use Grace in promotion for the mother and baby yoga. Tori is happy to get involved. After Tori has gone to get a coffee, Jasmine takes one of Grace’s socks and, heading onto the veranda, puts it with some other baby items. Tori nearly catches her when she comes out asking her to babysit. Later, Jasmine arrives at the gym. Willow says she got her the number of the guy that was eyeing her up earlier and threatens to call him. Jasmine sends her to get food. She gets out a laptop and sees approving posts on the photo of her and Grace. She takes a photo of herself and uploads it with a caption about being a working mum.

At the farm house, Maggie is looking up details of Italy on her phone. Ziggy takes it off her, saying that’s not very optimistic, but Maggie points out Ben hasn’t come round to talk to her. She says she needs options. Meanwhile, Ben is with Justin in Salt, saying he used to pity other couples who didn’t have what he and Maggie had and he’s not sure how to get it back. Justin points out that what happened with Marco hasn’t changed him and Maggie, saying Ben fell in love with her from the get-go and she married him despite her family disapproving. He suggests Ben might find it easier to forgive Maggie if it wasn’t his brother she slept with and it’s not really about her.

Leah has finished sorting out Marilyn’s hours. Tori tells her that Justin’s coming to meet them. She notices Grace’s missing sock and notes a lot of her things have been lost lately. Justin arrives and admits he’s not sure Ben is going to do it. At the farm house, Maggie is about to head off to bed when she and Ziggy hear Ben arriving. Ziggy tells Maggie to give him a chance before giving them space; Maggie notes she’ll call her whatever happens. She then asks Ben if she’s unpacking or not.

Jasmine checks her laptop and looks worried when one of the posters recognises the gym as Summer Bay. Willow arrives and Jasmine covers. Back at the farm house, Ben notes he’s reacting more strongly than he should and asks why it had to be Marco. He recalls he broke up with Maggie because he thought she’d break up with him otherwise and it took a lot to beg her to take him back. Maggie points out she did without hesitation. Ben says Marco was the favoured, respectable son who Maggie’s mother would probably have loved: That’s why he’s struggling to get past it and he suspects that’s why Maggie didn’t tell him.
