Extended Summary
Jasmine is on the beach, paddling in the sea and rubbing her pregnancy bump. Irene comes along and wishes her good morning. Jasmine is planning to check on Grace’s nursery later. Irene wonders if Jasmine has called Robbo’s parents yet but Jasmine doesn’t feel ready. Back at the Morgan house, Leah wakes up to find herself entangled with Justin and wakes him with a kiss on the cheek. She convinces him they’ve got time to just lie there. Justin muses on how they both got a good night’s sleep and wonders what happened to the crying baby. Leah tells him not to jinx it. At that moment, Tori checks on Grace in the nursery and notes how they both slept through as well. She points out the photos of Mason and Robbo to her.
Maggie has cooked a large breakfast but Ben says he has to get to work. When she protests that he has to eat, he simply takes a banana. Shortly after, as he is heading down to the beach, Marco calls out to him, to his exasperation. Marco says he doesn’t want to leave with bad blood and their parents won’t be able to handle it but Ben tells him to get out of his face. Marco suggests Ben and Maggie are getting on better since they both told him to go. Ben says that’s because they both hate him and suspects Marco is trying to find out the state of their marriage. Marco denies it. Ben tells him to go home.
Leah and Justin are on the beach. Justin comments on the first decent night of sleep the house has had in ages. Leah gets a phone call from the prosecutor. She tells Justin that Douglas has got 25 years, 15 without parole. Justin is delighted but Leah’s reaction is more muted. At the farm house, Maggie tells Roo she hoped that the test results would help Ben and Ziggy move forward. Roo suggests they need time to process it. Maggie thinks Marco hanging around won’t help and reveals what he said. Roo suggests she needs to play smart.
Maggie meets Marco on the beach and says that him hanging around is unhealthy. Marco says she can’t blame him for her keeping the secret from Ben. Maggie agrees but isn’t interested in his opinion on whether Ben should forgive her, saying she loves Ben. Marco angrily asks why she always chooses him and Maggie wonders if it’s just jealousy that causes him to want her. She says if he doesn’t leave then she’ll tell his parents that he’s run their business into the ground. At the Diner, Leah and Justin fill in Irene, Roo and Jasmine on Douglas’ sentence. All are pleased, saying Leah’s statement probably did it, but Leah says she needs a moment and heads outside.
Tori is doing yoga at home, with Grace lying on her front and watching her. Jasmine arrives; Tori tells her about Grace sleeping through the night and they compare notes on pregnancies. Jasmine drops hints about seeing the nursery; she is delighted with it, especially the photo wall. Tori checks she’s okay with photos of Robbo being there. Jasmine is pleased Grace gets to see her dad. Meanwhile, Ben finds Marco outside the surf club. Marco says he’s going and Ben’s won. Ben can’t see how he’s won. Marco says that the most amazing woman he knows loves Ben and he should be a proper husband to her.
Justin joins Leah on the pier, saying if she needs more time alone then he can go back to gossiping with Irene and Roo. Leah says things were starting to feel normal and she was worried the phone call would send her back there, but she’s got her power back. She says she felt safe and loved the previous night but isn’t ready to take the next step. Justin says he’s happy with how things are now. Back at the Morgan house, Tori and Jasmine look up an app saying her baby is the size of a plum. Jasmine goes to check on Grace while Tori gets ready for a feed. Seeing the photos in the mirror, she decides it’s time to call Grace’s grandparents.
Ben arrives home. Maggie tells him Marco’s gone and Ben says he knows. Maggie says she isn’t going to stop fighting for their marriage; she’s going to fix things and make him forgive her. Ben says he wants to but it’s changed how he sees their life together; they got through things in the past because they were honest with each other and he isn’t sure what she can do to fix it. Desperate, Maggie offers him a hall pass to make it even. Ben asks if that’s really what she thinks of him. That evening, Irene, Roo, Tori and Jasmine are all at the Diner with Leah and Justin babysitting. Jasmine has called Ian and Wendy, who were delighted at the news. She is all set for the twelve-week scan and they debate the merits of learning the gender. Jasmine wishes Robbo could be there.
Maggie joins Ben on the veranda, saying she didn’t mean what she said before and was just trying to find a way to make things better. Ben understands, saying he’s been doing the same thing, but he can’t see a way through it: He feels like he doesn’t know her.
