Extended Summary

Justin goes for a surf before joining Ben on the beach. He tries to discuss the waves with him but Ben isn’t in the mood. He mentions Maggie offering him a hall pass and notes it was a moment of desperation to try and fix things, although he’s still not sure if they can. Back at the Diner, Roo is also bewildered to hear about Maggie’s offer. Leah overhears part of the conversation and Maggie explains about sleeping with Ben’s brother years ago when they were on a break. Leah doesn’t look impressed but doesn’t say anything. Roo and Maggie decide to go to the gym.

Justin arrives home to find Tori packing up Grace’s old clothes for Jasmine’s baby. Justin comments on also giving her the cradle, noting Grace would break it now. Tori recalls her own twelve week scan and how Jasmine supported her through it; she wants to do the same for her, especially with Robbo not there. Back at the beach house, Jasmine is on the phone to Willow, saying she didn’t need to swap rooms back when the baby won’t be there for months. At that moment, Justin, Tori and Grace arrive with the cradle and Jasmine realises that was why. Irene confirms she also knew they were coming. Jasmine shows Justin where to put it.

Maggie and Roo see Ben hosing down some boards outside the surf club. Maggie goes over to him and offers him a muffin since he missed breakfast but Ben refuses it and also declines to have lunch with her. Maggie gives the muffin to Roo and says she doesn’t feel like the gym anymore. Down on the beach, Leah brings Justin a coffee and says she’s glad he’s one of the good guys. She mentions what Maggie said and Justin says Ben confided in him. Leah is disgusted and, when Justin suggests Maggie was young, gets angry at him for defending her and storms off, leaving him bemused.

Jasmine and Tori are looking through the baby clothes in the bedroom and Jasmine recalls her and Robbo buying one of the baby-gros. They hear a knock and assume it’s Justin but find Irene letting in Wendy, who quickly starts doting over Grace. When they try and ask where Ian is, she says that this is women’s business. Later, Wendy is continuing to focus on Grace as she relates how Ian couldn’t leave the farm because of the drought, and barely notices Irene leaving. She comments on living so far away and how she expects photos of both her grandchildren. Tori uncomfortably says she meant to send some. Wendy queries her going back to work so soon. Tori says Robbo was meant to look after Grace. Wendy says she’s with strangers and Tori protests that it’s Justin, Jasmine and Marilyn looking after her. Jasmine confirms she wants to spend as much time as possible with her baby.

Roo emerges from the gym and, after a brief attempt at making small talk with Ben, tells him that Maggie’s not expecting miracles but she loves him very much. Ben barely responds but does thank her as she leaves. Later, Maggie finds Ben taking his medication at home. She says she doesn’t know what to say but asks him to talk to her. Ben says he’ll move out if she wants but she can’t pressure him. Maggie apologises and says she’ll back off. Ben goes for a surf.

Tori has settled Grace. While Jasmine goes to put the kettle on, Wendy asks about Grace’s likes and dislikes and Tori awkwardly agrees to send her a list with the photos. Tori says she’ll join them for the ultrasound after leaving Grace with Justin, but Wendy suggests that with her there Tori isn’t needed anymore. Tori leaves. Wendy tells Jasmine that she told Tori she doesn’t have to come but Jasmine makes it clear she wants them both there. At the Morgan house, Tori tells Justin about the encounter, switching between being annoyed with Wendy and feeling bad about not sending her photos or spending time with Grace. Justin suggests Tori’s grieving herself but Tori worries Jasmine will be the perfect mother. She then gets a call from Jasmine asking her to be at the scan.

Wendy is making Jasmine drink several glasses of water in preparation for the ultrasound. She asks if she wants a boy or a girl. Jasmine says she’d love a girl but thinks it’ll be a boy, adding that having Robbo’s baby has given her something to live for. Wendy gets her more water. Meanwhile, Leah arrives home with a large amount of food for lunch. She apologises to Justin for before, saying she was mostly angry at Zac and was self-righteous and opinionated. Justin says he liked seeing her passionate about something again. Tori gives Grace to them before hurrying out.

Tori joins Wendy and Jasmine at the hospital, where Wendy is fretting about the absent technician. Tori and Jasmine reminisce about Robbo turning up during her scan and wish he was there. Wendy says she think he is…and he wouldn’t put up with a late technician. Back at the Morgan house, Justin has put Grace down. Leah kisses him and says she meant it that he’s one of the good guys, suggesting they go for a walk. Justin thinks she means taking Grace out but Leah says she meant to the bedroom and assures him she’s ready. They head off there.

The technician arrives, applies the gel to Jasmine and begins the scan…but it shows nothing. She tries again from another angle. Wendy wonders what she’s meant to be looking at and what everyone’s dour expressions mean, asking if there’s something wrong with the baby. Tori say there is no baby and Jasmine says she’s not pregnant.
